"…Bo…lin?"

His eyes snap open, and he's staring at the girl sitting next to him. She's half unconscious, blood sweeping from her left leg. They fought and won against him. The one haunting the Avatar ever since she got to Republic City. The one that took away the bending of so many people.

He closed his eyes then, and bit his lip. I'm Mako.

"…you?" She suddenly mutters, her hand twitching to touch his. "Is that… you?"

He nods, and hums in the dim lighting of the shed they are in. There's blood all over the small space and he can see Amon's mask on the far right, his body not visible to Mako's fading eye sight.

"Yeah," he manages, her hand grabbing his pinky.

"You okay?"

"My arm. You…?" He asks back, worry in his voice.

"My leg," she blinks, her eyes wavering. "My heart."

His eyes open to look at her face in the dark, and his heart clenches behind his rib cage.

"Don't… tell… Mako," she breathes out, trying to look at him. "I – I love… Mako. Is that okay?"

His hand grabs hers then, and he sighs out, "Yeah."

"I'm glad," she says softly, smiling. "I tried not to, but I – I can't stop loving him," she confesses, her eyes closing, her head falling on his shoulder. "I'm sorry."

"Me too, Korra," he tells her, closing his eyes as well, his head resting on hers.

He's sporting a smile himself as the world fades black and Bolin, along with Tenzin, run inside the shed to get them out of there.

In the end, things could work out well.
