What I See
Sakura smiled at her friend.
Naruto had come to find her at the hospital and waited whilst she just finished up her shift. He had been meeting her a lot more frequently recently and she wasn't annoyed at the extra time spent with the boy. She had enjoyed the company.
Letting down her hair, she shook her head and ran a hand through the pink mass. It was nice to let go at the end of the day.
"You're stunningly beautiful." Naruto smiled dreamily at her.
Sakura paused and looked behind her to pin him with a confused stare. Was he talking to her?
"Sorry?"
"You are beautiful," he repeated.
She looked at herself. What was he seeing? She was in her hospital get up, she'd had a tough day, she most likely looked really tired and grimy - she probably even had blood under her nails and pen up her arms.
"Excuse me?"
His smiled widened. "You heard me, Sakura-chan."
"I'm a mess..." She murmured.
He stood there, giving her his famous happy grin and she couldn't help but smile back.
"I love your smile," he added.
Her eyes widened again. What was with all these compliments?
"And your eyes are so pretty."
Blushing slightly, she shuffled. "Stop it, Naruto."
"Sorry," he rubbed the back of his head. "I couldn't help it, you're just amazing."
"Are you trying to get something from me?" She mumbled.
"No," he laughed. "Can't I compliment you?"
"No."
"Why not?"
"Because..." She frowned.
He waited.
"Just because," she finished.
"I love it when you blush." He grinned.
"I'm not blushing," she turned away from him. "I've just been working for so long and it's hot in here."
"That's because you're in here."
Turning back around she hit him on the arm. "Naruto!"
"Sorry," he pouted, rubbing his arm. "That one was cheesy."
"Yes." She frowned.
"Sai's books really don't work too well," Naruto mumbled.
"You're talking to me like this because you read one of Sai's books?" Sakura looked at him, for some reason she was a little disappointed.
"No!" Naruto shook his head. "Sai told me that I should compliment you more, apart from the hot comment, the rest was all me."
"Well..." She frowned. "You shouldn't take advice from Sai."
"I thought it was working." Naruto lowered his head.
"Working in what?" Sakura raised an eyebrow.
"I don't know, getting you to accept going on a date with me or something," he mumbled.
"Lying will not get you a date." She frowned.
Naruto raised his head. "Lying?"
"Honestly, Naruto," Sakura shook her head. "I've been working for hours, I'm exhausted, I cannot be the least bit attractive right now."
Naruto smiled. "You're always attractive, I love it when you're working and have your hair tied up."
Sakura laughed, still not believing him, taking her hair band she redid her hair in a ponytail. "Like this?"
"Can you take it down and shake it out again?" He asked.
She gave him a funny look, but pulled out the hair band and shook her head, straightening it out again.
He stared at her.
She laughed. "You're so weird."
"I love your laugh." He grinned.
Sakura looked at him again, before smiling. "I'd love to see what you're seeing. The world must look so much better through your eyes."
"You're the most beautiful thing in the world." He smiled.
Shaking her head, she looped her arm around his and left the hospital room, walking down the corridor, she told him, "I have just done an eight hour shift," before repeating, "I am a mess."
"You're always perfect." He grinned.
"Want to go for ramen?" She asked.
"Is it a date?" He asked, excited.
"I just want to see if you run out of compliments." She laughed.
"From what I see," he smiled. "I'll never run out of compliments."
Author Notes:
This was just a bit of fun :) I finished it last night and wanted to upload it after the next chapter of my NaruSaku 'Amnesia' story, but I didn't manage to upload it today :/ but I hope to upload that tomorrow (technically today). Is Naruto too confident in this? :D maybe they'd be a couple of years older, but I wouldn't mind Naruto having more confidence like that in the manga :D.
Thanks for reading!
