It's the color of her hair-bright and obnoxious and vibrant.

It is the reason he gives her the name.

Scarlet.

Everything Erza sees is red and for once she'd like to see a little variation of color (like, blue maybe?) and she's almost sick to her stomach of red but she knows that it will be with her always.

Erza never wears white. She can't. But, she muses, girls like Lucy and Levy (who are so sweet, so innocent somehow, so completely naive) are able to wear white.

Erza can't.

Sooner or later it'll end up stained with red.
