I really don't know what to say. I'm sorry this oneshot is terrible. I am overly emotional.
I can't believe it's over. I can't

In the dark, Tenzin finds Korra. She's sitting cross-legged on her bed with her eyes closed, hands fisted in her lap. From the faint light of the moon streaming through her window, her hair is tousled and wild. Naga sits up as Tenzin enters, her tail thumping a steady rythm on the floor.
"Hello, Tenzin," Korra says without opening her eyes. Again, he is struck by how calm she is-the serene steadiness of her expression. She has grown so much over the past couple of years. He remembers her as the bright eyed, wild, headstrong Avatar who wanted nothing to do with spirits, who was to tense to even bend the smallest wind. Pride swells in his chest.
"May I sit down?" he asks.
Her eyes open slowly, coming out of her meditation, and she nods. "Of course." Running a self conscious hand through her hair she flashes him a smile, "to what do I owe the pleasure?" her voice is teasing.
Sighing, he tilts his head back, looking out the window at the brilliant moon. "I couldn't sleep," he says, honestly, "and I wanted to make sure you were alright after everything with Kuvira."
Her hand finds his shoulder and squeezes reassuringly. "Tenzin, I'm fine. I know why you're concerned, but-"
"I know you are much stronger now," he says, embarrassed by his own paternal protectiveness, "but after everything that has happened-"
Korra laughs very quietly, and leans her head against his shoulder, giving him a playful shove. "Oh Tenzin, you'll never know how much I appreciate you. Really. Thank you. I couldn't have done any of this without you."
He knows that isn't quite true. Turning his head, he presses a quick kiss to her tousled hair. "Oh, I think you could have, Korra."
Closing his eyes, he holds her close for a few more minutes, and whispers a silent thank you to his father for giving him this beautiful third daughter-a girl who is strong, fierce, gentle, and above all else, kind.
He remembers Lin scoffing, so very long ago, "how could your gentle father have been reincarnated into THIS girl?"
He knows why now.
Because the world needed her.
But more importantly, Tenzin has come to realize that his family needs her too.
