"An anamnesis," Lord Death said. "It is a recollection, in particular the recalling of memories from a previous event."

Excalibur chuckled. "I can't believe I was fooled so easily," he commented. "You really got me this time, Death. Quite entertaining, might I add."

Lord Death's mask formed a happy look. "Thank you. This entire event went almost as perfectly as planned."

"Indeed, it did." Excalibur took a sip of his tea. "Let's see where the academy shall head next."

DWMA Rumble!

Final Chapter XIII

Anamnesis

It was dark. Very dark. The last thing she remembered was hearing her weapon scream her name before a sharp pain ripped through her neck. But as quickly as the pain came, it went away...

Maka's eyes shot open and she gasped, quickly shutting them again with a grunt. It was bright. Too bright. She heard the soft sound of waves washing upon an ocean shore. Joining this were the small cries of seagulls hovering over her.

She slowly tried to open her eyes again and her blurry vision came into place. She quickly sat up and glanced at her right where she felt something nudge against her shoulder. There laid Soul, who also seemed to be waking up as well. Her eyes then wandered over towards the boulders where she found Kid, Liz, Patty, Sai, and Sam all resting on the sand. She blinked in confusion and stared down at her hands.

"Didn't we... Die...?" she muttered.

"Yo! It's about time you woke up, Maka!"

Maka was shocked by the sound of that obnoxious voice. She looked to her other side and her eyes completely widened.

"Bla... Black Sta...?" she uttered.

Black Star grinned brightly, sitting right next to Tsubaki on a boulder.

Tsubaki giggled and waved at her. "How does it feel to still be alive?" she asked.

Maka could feel tears reach the bridge of her eyelids. Tsubaki jogged forward to tightly embrace her. "W-We... We're alive?!" the ash blonde said in a slight gasp. "But... But how..."

Tsubaki smiled sadly. "I don't know, but just be thankful that we're able to reunite..." she softly said.

Soul sped over to Black Star and tackled him to the ground. "Don't you ever die on me like that again!" he yelled.

Black Star laughed. "Like I said, a god like me can never die!" he hollered.

"Sheesh, even if you die, you still never change..." He gasped. "Hang on, I need to go hug my meister!" He jerked away from Black Star and ran over to Maka, swooping her out of Tsubaki's grasp and into his arms, kissing her cheek.

"S-Soul!" she sputtered, blushing madly. Soul only gave her a sharp grin.

Black Star's gaze wandered over to Kid and he smirked. "Wake up!" he exclaimed, leaping off of a boulder and tackling the reaper's body.

Kid gasped and jumped up, shoving Black Star off and moving into a defensive stance. "What's going on?!" he shouted. His eyes then widened at the sight of Black Star and friends and his body slightly relaxed. "What the hell...?"

Black Star threw his hands into the air out of joy. "Isn't this great? We're alive!"

He blinked. "Did you all somehow heal my injury...?"

"Nah, you were dead as fuck! And so was I! But we're all somehow still alive, so... I don't know!"

"That can't be..." Kid ran a hand through his hair. "What... What is this...?"

The sudden ringing of loud bells echoing throughout the forests, cliffs, beaches, and riversides interrupted him. Maka looked up. "Is that their signal for us to return?" she wondered aloud.

"You think we should go?" Soul asked.

She shrugged. "Might as well. I'd like to find a teacher and have some questions answered."

"Wait..." Kid began. "So we're not dead?"

Black Star punched his arm. "Does that feel dead to you?"

"Ow! Was that necessary?"

"Yes."

There was groaning from behind and they saw Liz and Patty leaning up. "Mm... What's with all the noise?" Liz asked, rubbing her eyes.

"Is it breakfast time?" asked Patty.

Kid opened his mouth to speak when his eyes landed on Sai. He gasped and ran over to embrace her. "Sai!" he exclaimed.

Sai shot up and she scrambled in his grasp. "Sweet Jesus, what's going on?!" she shrieked, staring at him in confusion. "Is the zombie apocalypse starting!?"

"Just hug me, you idiot."

She obeyed but still kept a confused expression. "Dude, I had this weird dream that I got my neck sliced opened like in a Final Destination movie! It was kinda awesome!"

The bells in the distance began to ring again at a much faster pace. "We should get going. It sounds like they're getting impatient," Maka suggested.

Sam groaned and sat up. "Am I in purgatory?" he asked. He glanced around and his eyes landed on Liz. "Liz is here? Ah, then I must be in heaven."

"Good to see you, Sam..." the elder Thompson sister replied sarcastically, rolling her eyes!"

"Maka!"

Everyone's heads turned to see Spirit descending from the forest with Crona shyly at his side. Both smiled at the sight of Maka and Spirit dashed forward with open arms. "Makaaaa~!"

Maka grinned happily and felt tears hit the brim of her eyelids. "Crona!" she cried, running straight for the pink-headed demon meister and hugging him tightly. "I'm so glad you're okay!"

Spirit's face dropped in disappointment and Crona smiled, resting his head on Maka's shoulder. "Maka..." Spirit whimpered.

Black Star grabbed Tsubaki's hand and she transformed into the Enchanted Sword. Within a second, Spirit was on the ground with the sword pressed against his neck. "Talk you old geezer! What the hell is going on?!" he snarled.

Spirit held his hands up in surrender. "Whoa now, calm down, Black Star!" he exclaimed. "I come in peace!"

Black Star scoffed. "I doubt it!"

Maka eyed her father. "If you think I'll trust you after what just happened, you're dead wrong!"

"Do you even know what happened?" the Death scythe asked.

...

"We're still not going to trust you!"

"Maka, get away from Crona!" Black Star yelled. "He's the reason that I—!"

"Crona didn't do anything wrong!" Maka retorted. "He saved us!"

Crona looked up to her. "Wait, Maka—"

"I say we take this old geezer hostage and get off of this island," said Soul.

"Hell yeah! He won't even try to kill any of us with Maka here!" Black Star agreed.

Spirit tried speaking again. "If you would all just listen to me—!"

"Shut up!" Black Star pressed his sword harder on his skin. "You have no right to speak!"

"But Spirit's right. You all need to just listen to him...!" Crona said.

"Fine, but if we go, we're taking Crona with us," Maka said, not heading Crona's words.

Black Star sighed dramatically. "Maka, why can't you get it through your thick skull that CRONA TRIED TO KILL US!?"

"I-I was being controlled by Ragnarok, really," Crona defended. "I honestly didn't want to hurt Maka—"

"HA! I call bullshit!" He glared at Maka and Crona. "He's not coming with us, right, Soul?"

Soul began to whistle nonchalantly and he turned to stop facing them.

"You're an idiot!" Maka countered. "Crona saved us!"

Kid finally approached them. "Hang on, let's just calm down..." he started.

"How the hell are we even alive in the first place?!" Black Star exclaimed.

"If you'd let me explain...!" Spirit spoke.

"Hey, I told you to shut up!"

"Kid, please tell Black Star that Crona's the one who saved us!" Maka sighed.

"Well, I wouldn't know considering I died," Kid said.

"Maka, you do realize that because of me, you and Soul were the ones who were left alive?!" Black Star shouted.

Maka bit her lip. That wasn't exactly a pleasant memory. "Stein killed us right after! I don't understand, either!"

"That's bullshit! And so is the idea that Crona is coming with us!"

Maka would've tackled him if she weren't still holding Crona. "Shut up!"

"Will you two please cease your fighting and we'll all try to come up with a compromise?" Kid asked. "You're acting extremely immature and I want to know what happened after I 'died'."

"Crona tried to kill us and he's the reason why I dragged everyone behind!" Black Star explained.

"That's so not true! He saved us right after that!" Maka countered.

"And you're just gonna forget what he did to me?!"

"No, but we can't justify our plan based on that one situation!"

"Just let Spirit talk!" Crona spoke up.

"Ugh, you're all giving me a headache!" shouted Liz in the background.

"I have a boner," said Sai.

"I think we need to hear Crona's side of the story and I also want to question Spirit on why I was suddenly shot," Kid hissed, glaring at Spirit.

"How about you let me go and I'll explain why you're even on this island in the first place?" Spirit said.

Black Star laughed. "Yeah, right! He's totally lying!"

"No, he's telling the truth!" Crona cried. "That's why I arrived with him!"

"I bet Crona's lying, too!"

"You have trust issues!" Maka shouted. "Just let them speak!"

"No!"

"Kiiiiiid!"

Kid sighed and rubbed his temples. "This is far worse than babysitting..."

"We're wasting so much time here," Soul muttered.

"I vote we kill Crona right now to save the trouble of him going crazy later!" Black Star exclaimed.

Crona let out a squeak and hid behind Maka while her jaw hung open. "Are you crazy?! We can't just do that to Crona!"

"Maka, nobody cares!"

"I care! And I'm sure everyone else here cares!"

Ragnarok finally crawled out of Crona's back. "Will you all shut the fuck up?! You're giving Crona stomach pains!" He pointed to Spirit. "Just let the damn old man explain what's going on and quit being a bunch of stupid fucking blowjobs, will you!?"

Everyone was silenced by his sudden outburst until Black Star decided to speak up, as usual. "Since when can you talk?"

Soul face palmed and finally decided to step in. "Hey, Death Scythe. Mind calmly explaining to everyone what's going on before they all go batshit again?" he asked.

Black Star opened his mouth to retort but Kid punched him in the face. Spirit sighed. "Thank you... If you must know, everything you had experienced on this island for the past few days..."

He paused dramatically.

"...Was a dream!" he finished.

"CALLED IT!" Sai exclaimed.

Maka's eyes widened in shock. "...I... What...?" she uttered.

"What do you mean?" Kid questioned. "There is no possible way that was a dream."

"Of course it was," Spirit intervened. "That's why I'm telling you. Did you honestly believe that Lord Death would stoop low enough to have his students kill each other, including his son?"

"..."

"Think about it," he continued. "How else are you all still alive right now? Without even a single scratch on you?"

"That can't be!" Maka objected. She lifted her tightened fists up. "I-I felt everything... The pain and sadness... We all felt it!"

Spirit nodded. "I know... So did I."

"Don't try to empathize us!" she lashed out. "You didn't have to kill the students you've been watching train so hard for so many years! You didn't watch your closest friends die!"

Spirit frowned. "I watched Sid be killed by Black Star and Marie slaughtered by a dozen of students because she was too heartbroken to do anything," he said lowly. Maka was slightly appalled. "And to top it off... I had to kill my own daughter."

"But it never happened, right?" Liz questioned. "It was just a fucked up dream?"

Spirit opened up his mouth to answer when his communicator began to make loud noises. He lifted it up to his ear to listen to Azusa's yelling. "Where the hell are you?! Sid managed to retrieve a quarter of the island by himself and you can't even return with a few students!?" she bellowed.

"S-Sorry, I'll be back right away!" he replied nervously before shoving it back in his pocket.

Maka arched a brow. "Retrieve?"

"Yes, every single students is to be brought back to the docks safely and soundly," he explained, standing up. "Come on, let's go. Lord Death is looking forward to seeing you all back home."

Kid scoffed. "Fine then, I'd like to see that for myself," he said, already disappearing into the forest. The rest soon followed after him.

Tsuki gasped and quickly sat up from the dirt. She groaned and held onto the sides of her head. "L-Leo...?" she grumbled out, her eyes searching around for her weapon. She found him resting at her side and she sighed in relief.

"Are you awake?"

She shrieked at the sound of another voice and she jumped back. Standing in front of her was Yuki, who was leaning down and holding her hand out to Tsuki. She smiled. "It's okay, Tsuki, it's just me," she said, calmly taking Tsuki's hand. "You're alive."

The dark haired girl's eyes widened in confusion. "Y-Yuki...?" she uttered. No... That can't be! I saw you die..."

"Weird, right?" said Zeke, who was standing behind Yuki. She looked and him and he shrugged. "It seems like she remembers, too. So, this is all just really weird."

Tsuki blinked. "What...?"

Yuki grinned. "I don't know, but I see a bunch of other people running towards the docks, so maybe everyone's alive?" She took Tsuki's hand and pulled her to her feet. "Come on, let's go check it out!"

Tsuki remained silent for a moment before nodding and awakening Leo. After they took off into the forest was then when she saw what Yuki was speaking about.

Large groups of students ranging from the NOT class to the EAT class were rushing towards the area of the docks, both on the ground and through the trees. The fastest ones she could see flying through the trees were Jason and Lucien. Every person's chattering was so loud over each other but each word was easy to hear.

"I could've sworn we died!"

"What? I don't remember anything but sleeping."

"Yeah, and I saw those two over there die!"

"Wait a minute, I killed those guys!"

"So that was you, you piece of shit?! How dare you!"

They began to fight, soon followed by a teacher jumping over and separating them. Leo sweat dropped. "Man, what the hell is going on here? I mean, I'm totally cool with still being alive, but..."

Tsuki glanced to her left and she recognized two students from her class: Aven and Carter. "Aven, Carter!" she called out.

The pair turned to her and Aven's jaw dropped. "Hey, guys!" she called back. "You know what the fuck's going on?"

"Nope!" Zeke replied.

"AVEN!" a voice screamed from behind. Aven turned around to be greeted by a body force tackling her to the ground, turning out to be Violet. "You're alive!" she cried, hugging her friend tightly. "I'm so glad!"

"Jesus, fuck!" Aven cursed. By then, they were too far behind from Tsuki, Leo, Yuki, and Zeke to hear.

The beach by the docks were very crowded and filled with loud voices. Young kids left and right were found embracing each other and crying out their names. Such a sight was actually heartwarming to Marie, who was standing on top of one of the buses next to Azusa.

"It's finally over..." she said with relief.

Azusa pushed her glasses up. "With success, too. The final students and teachers are about to arrive." She shifted her attention to the center of the crowd.

"Twisted!" Lily cried out, leaping forward and hugging her friend. "We're aliiiiiiiiive!"

Twisted lowered her eyelids. "I watched you idiots die thanks to you, Lily," she said.

Yumi shrugged. "Listen, I really didn't give a shit."

"Me neither," added Demi.

Angel smiled. "I'm just glad that we can all be together again." There was a tap on her shoulder and she turned to face Faith with a wide grin. "Faith!"

Faith hugged her. "Hi~!" Standing behind her, Satana slightly smiled

Azusa watched the reunion of many other familiar faces. Finally, she saw Spirit arrive in the back with some of the members from Spartoi.

Maka's eyes widened. "Everyone is... Alive," she said in awe.

Spirit smiled and ruffled her hair. "Didn't I tell you?"

"Don't touch me."

"Wait, so if what you're saying was true," Kid started, "then what was the point of this entire thing?"

"Once Sid arrives, he'll be explaining everything." Spirit saw Azusa wave to him and he nodded. "I gotta go. Stay here," he ordered before leaving.

"Man, this is gonna be really awkward for everyone," Liz said. "How can we confront the people we killed?"

"Well, I kept the deaths at a minimum," said Kid. "Though, I can't say the same for Black Star."

"Shut up," Black Star remarked.

"Kid!" someone called out. Kid turned around and found Lucy charging at him. His eyes widened and before he could say anything, she grabbed him and ducked behind him. "Hide me!" she exclaimed nervously.

"What?" he questioned. "Get off of me."

"No! He's gonna kill me!"

"Who?"

She pointed ahead to see Daichi stomping over to them. Lucy shuddered and then jumped behind Sai. "Lucy!" Daichi hollered, approaching Kid since he was blocking the way. "Out of the way, shorty," he commanded with a scowl.

Black Star put a hand to his chin. "You know, Kid is pretty short, isn't he?" he agreed.

Kid rolled his eyes. "Black Star, be quiet."

"Dude, I'm taller than him," added Sai.

"By one centimeter!" he retorted. He shook his head. "Anyways, what do you want, Daichi?"

Daichi narrowed his eyes at him. "This has nothing to do with you. I just want to fucking talk to her."

"No, you're gonna hurt me!" Lucy cried, clinging onto her friend's arm.

"You expect me to be totally cool with killing yourself just to save," he pointed at Kid, "this kid?!"

Black Star's eyes widened. "Whoa, plot twist!"

The red-haired girl frowned. "You cheated, that's why!"

"You were going to die, Lucy!" he yelled.

"I don't care! Devils that play unfair are a disgrace to the family!"

"That makes absolutely no sense," Black Star muttered.

Daichi threw his hands up in frustration. "You know what? Fine! If you want to suck his dick then go ahead! Dirty your family's name!" He turned around. "I'm done you and I'm done with this school's bullshit!"

...

"Well, that was rude," Liz commented once he was gone.

Sam scoffed. "And you guys think I'm an asshole."

"What was that all about?" Tsubaki inquired.

"I think he's mad that Lucy got in the way when he tried to kill me," Kid answered, glancing back at the devil. "Is that correct?"

Lucy huffed and looked away. "Shut up..."

"Quit denying it."

"Wait a minute!" Sai spoke. "Dude, so you're saying that Lucy sacrificed herself to save Kiddo?"

"Shut up, Sai!" Lucy barked.

Sai grinned. "I knew it! I knew you two had the hots for each other!" She hopped on Kid's back. "Lucy and Kid are getting closer to canon and I fucking ship it like the sun!" she shouted. "O-T-P! O-T-P!"

"I will not hesitate to throw you off," Kid told her. She giggled and got down.

There was instantly a loud screeching noise from the buses, startling and silencing just about every student. Sid was standing on the buses with his megaphone. "Oops, sorry," he apologized quickly. "Didn't mean to scare you all."

"WHAT THE FUCK?!" shouted a rasp voice from the crowd that sounded like Christian's. Soon enough many other students began to repeat the same question in unison. "How the hell is this possible?!"

"Everyone calm down, please," Sid ordered calmly. They settle down and he sighed. "I'll just get right to the point—Everything you have experienced for the so-called 'past week' was actually a dream you all experienced once you fell asleep the night you all arrived here," he explained bluntly.

"WHAT?!" shouted Jet through the crowd's gasping.

"Mind fuck!" Rein exclaimed.

"That can't be...!" gasped Virgo.

Sid nodded. "It's true. You see, the magic leftover from the battle of the witches on this island allowed everyone to be placed in the same dream—one giant dream shared by every single person to sleep on this island."

"BLACK FUCKING MAGIC!" Yumi yelled.

"Damn right!" Twisted chimed in. "Witchcraft!"

Ronan shot his hand up. "Wait, Professor Sid!" he said.

Sid directed his attention to him. "Yes?"

"Does this mean that... We arrived on this island just yesterday?" he inquired.

Sid nodded. "That is correct."

"WHOA!" everyone shouted.

A random student raised his hand. "Professor, I don't recall having a dream last night...?"

"Another important statement," Sid spoke. "You all fell asleep with the idea of killing each other in the morning. If anybody had absolutely no will or strive to do such a thing then they were separated from the dream."

A few boys and girls scattered throughout, mainly from the NOT Class, whispered, "I think that happened to me."

"I'm questioning my entire existence right now," Violet muttered.

From the front of the crowd, Tim raised his hand. "Professor, may I ask what the objective of this trip was?"

Sid sighed heavily. "For some reason, Lord Death thought it would be a wonderful training idea. He wanted to test out not only the physical but mental strength of everyone as well."

"So then... In that case, we won't need to hurt each other anymore?"

Before Sid could answer, Marie snatched up the megaphone from him. "Of course not!" she cried. "We care about every single child here deeply and wish for you all to fulfill your hopes and dreams!" She was tearing up. "I'm so sorry you all had to go through such pain, but please forgive us and forgive each other—!"

"All right, you're done," Azusa intervened, taking the megaphone from her. She turned back to the crowd. "We'll be getting back on the buses in about five minutes and on our way home safely and soundly."

Everyone sighed in relief. Way in the back, Kiari wiped away her tears of relief and clutched onto Amane's hand.

"Thank goodness..." she whispered, her other hand grasping onto the pentagram necklace wrapped around her neck.

"Wait!" Kaiser interrupted. "Who was the last team to win?"

Azusa gestured her hand over to the side. "Scythe Meister Maka Albarn and soon to be Death Scythe Soul Evans."

Maka blushed in embarrassment at the hundreds of heads turning to face her. Before she could say anything, Black Star spoke up. "She would've died if it weren't for me, so technically I won!" he gloated.

Tsubaki sighed. "Give it a rest..."

Everyone suddenly erupted in acclamation and cheered for Maka and Soul with whistles and shouts. She smiled sheepishly and Soul tried to ignore the dozens of girls drooling over him. He took his meister's hand and held it high up, gaining another round of applause from everyone, even the teachers.

Gently holding his meister's hand, Sage led Virgo off of the bus and onto the concrete platform the Death Weapon Meister Academy stood on. They, including Raid, were one of the last ones to depart from the buses. Nearly every single student had disappeared into the academy, ran to the balconies, or dashed back to the dorms.

Surprisingly, everyone was getting along better than expected.

"Ah, Virgo, Sage, Raid!" called Aven, who was also departing from another bus with Aven, Violet, Akio, and May.

Virgo smiled sweetly and waved to them. "Good to see you," she greeted.

"You're looking lovely as ever, Aven," Raid commented smoothly.

Aven glared at him. "Shut it or I'll hit you," she growled, tucking her short hair behind her ears. "Anywhore, we're gonna go to Death Bucks to cool down. Care to join?"

Virgo glanced at Sage who only shrugged. "Sorry, but I'd rather go shower and settle down for now. Maybe next time?" she answered quietly.

Aven glanced at their hand holding before sighing. "Oh great, first Akio and Violet and now you two." She waved them off as she walked away. "If you change your mind, we'll be there."

Aven and her group traveled into the academy and it was noisier than the first day after vacation. Students were throwing things everywhere and the teachers didn't even give a damn. Everyone was just happy.

A book rammed into the back of her head and she furiously turned to face Violet, who was laughing hysterically. "A-Aven, calm down..." Carter warned as his meister's face turned red with anger. The entire group soon enough became caught up in the book throwing festival as well.

"PARTY~!" shouted Rein, who ran in and kicked a poor boy in the face. Kaiser and Kento laughed as they followed her from behind and joined the mob.

Ven smiled. "At least they're not throwing deadly weapons at each other," she said.

Next to her, Hiro shrugged and placed his headphones in his ears. "I guess it's better than life-long injuries, too..." He slightly smiled as well. When Sid came in to calm everyone down, they laughed and yanked him into the fun.

"Kid!" Lord Death cried, pulling his son into a tight embrace the moment him and his friends approached the reaper in the Death Room. Excalibur had already left before they arrived. "I'm so glad to see you again!"

"I can't believe you," Kid responded apathetically. "You have a problem."

"What? It was fun, wasn't it?" Lord Death asked.

"No!" everyone shouted in unison, including Spirit.
"That's a dumb fucking question," Ragnarok snapped.

Lord Death began to laugh. "Oh, I missed you all so much!" He turned to Maka and Soul. "Maka, Soul, since you two were the victors, I'm going to have a witch soul reserved just for you."

Maka shook her head and held her hand up. "I'd rather earn it on my own," she said.

He turned to Soul. "Do you agree with this?"

Soul shrugged. "I go wherever my meister goes," he said with a toothy smile.

"Very well. As expected of you."

"Wait, then can I have the soul?!" Black Star exclaimed.

"No."

"Damn it!"

"Father, I have a question," Kid started.

Lord Death nodded. "Ask away."
"Was it true that you ordered to have me killed because the balance of power was unfair?"

"Yup~!"

Black Star and Patty burst out in laughter as Kid's jaw dropped. "What the hell?!"

"Well, it's not like I actually killed you…"

Kid sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "I think I have a headache."

At that moment, Stein had walked in and handed Lord Death a piece of paper. "Did you all have fun?" he asked everyone.
"You're not funny," replied Soul.

"What is this?" Lord Death asked Stein.

"Pretty much a letter of resignation from Demon Meister Daichi Imawashi," Stein explained, twisting the screw in his head. "He does not wish to attend the academy anymore and he just left."

"Good riddance," Ragnarok remarked.

"Ah, I see. In that case we'll have to find a new temporary meister for Lucy. Just take this to the file room," Lord Death ordered.

"Gotcha," Stein answered, turning to leave. He paused as he passed the group of students. "Sai, I sense a small soul growing inside of your abdomen," he announced before quickly leaving.

"Well, shit," Sai muttered as everyone stared at her.
"I seriously hope he's joking," Kid said edgily. "Please tell me he's joking."

She suddenly laughed. "Nah, dude, I'm having your children." She threw her hands up. "Surprise~!"

"Wha—? THIS ISN'T A JOKE!"

"Wait, you're pregnant!?" Maka exclaimed.
"Saw it coming," Black Star stated.
Sai waved her hands around. "Hehe, guilty as charged," she replied nonchalantly.

"Why the hell didn't you tell me?!" Kid shouted.

"Dude, I was gonna eventually but Stein had to fuck it up! Sneaky bastard."

Kid opened his mouth to retort but only found himself rubbing his face in frustration. "…Well, then," Lord Death spoke up. "If you all wouldn't mind, I'd like to have a small chat with my son alone."

The change of tone in his voice had everyone scurrying out of the room. The last thing they heard was the familiar sound of a Reaper Chop smashing into someone's skull. "That wasn't very responsible of you, Sai," Spirit scolded, glancing at the younger brunette.

"That line defines my entire life!" she laughed. Maka sighed and hit her in the head with her book.

"What a wonderful surprise to receive literally an hour after we get back from killing each other," Liz said sarcastically.

"Liz!" Kaiser suddenly came running down the hall and stopped before the weapon, placing his hands on his knees to catch his breath.

"Oh, hey Kaiser, what's up?"

"I wanted to… Know if…" he panted. "You wanted to… Get some coffee at… Death Bucks…?"

Liz blinked in confusion for a moment. "Uh, sure, I guess."

His face brightened up. "Great, let's go!" He grabbed her hand and raced away with her.

"Bye, Sis!" Patty called out with a wave. "Enjoy your date!"

"I ship it," Sai said.

Maka hit her again and as she put her book away, she turned around. "Come on, Soul. We're gonna go look for more assignments."

Soul groaned. "Already? Fine…"

A parade of students began happily marching down the hallway, cheering as if they had completed the greatest mission ever.

Maka smiled.

There was a dark room deep within the cockles of a large, unlit castle. The room was barely lit up by a few torches that seemed to form a long path to the center of the room.

The large door leading inside the room opened up and someone walked in, assumed to be a girl from the sounds of heels knocking on the ground with each step the person took. "Father," the person whispered. "We have obtained some rather… Interesting information about the Death Weapon Meister academy."

A rasp voice spoke from the center of the room. "From who?" it scoured.

"He claims to be Lucy's weapon."

A white smirk formed on the face of the person in the center of the room that illuminated brightly with the dim lighting of the torches.

The end...?

Lolnotreally.

It's only just beginning. *Laughs evilly* I don't even know this chapter was shit.

Black Heart War is going to focus a lot more on characterization and OCs will play more important roles. It will be up very soon. I also changed the rating of it from T to M because I realized that the themes in it aren't exactly T xD

In the mean time, have a preview of the Kid x Sai trilogy, which shall be up by tomorrow~

~Taken from chapter six *whispers on a small bridge whispers*~

Sai blinked and lifted her head back up, snapping out of her thoughts. She stared into Kid's golden eyes for a moment with curiosity. They were such a lovely color to her—she'd never met anyone before with such a unique eye color.

Suddenly, she grinned widely, grabbed his shoulders, hauled him over the railing, and tossed him into the water below with a splash.

Kid squirmed around the shallow water and shot back up, gasping for air while she began to die of laughter. "You bitch!" he snarled, standing straight up and pushing his wet hair out of his eyes.

"Hey, is it warm?!" she laughed. "'Cuz I might jump in, too!"

"I should just drown you!" he yelled angrily. "Why the hell did you throw me in here?! I'm all wet!"

Her left eye color turned hazel and brought her fingers to her lips. "Oh, my~ does that sound sexual!"

"Shut up!"

She continued her laughter. "Hey, Kiddo, enough of questioning me. I have a few questions for you, now!" she called. She stood on the metal to lean over the railing farther. "How long have you been chasing after EmilyAnne Beats?"

Kid's rambling stopped and eyes widened. He averted her gaze. "H-Her name is Ace..." he mumbled.

"Aw, that's so adorable~!" she squealed. "I knew you liked her!" he remarked.

His cheeks went red. "I do not!"

"Ah, shut up, you turd! Don't try denying it!" She grinned and rested her chin on her hand. "I totally ship it. OTP right there!"

He turned his head away. "Be quiet..."

"Dude, it's so obvious! You're all over her when you see her and your face gets rosy red every time you hear or say her name. If you really like her, you wouldn't have so much trouble admitting it." She giggled. "It's really cute!"

Kid sighed. For an idiot, she had a point. "Fine, I do like Ace." He scratched the back of his head. "I like her a lot, actually..."

She giggled and rested her chin on her hand. "Now, just to make sure, you don't like her just because of her boobs or butt, right?" His blush deepened. "'Cuz her boobs are normal for size, I guess, but damn, that is one nice booty she's got there—!"

"Sai, be quiet!" he interrupted.

"You see the booty, you want the booty, but can you get the booty?"

"That's not why I like her!" He pushed his hair back again. "I-I like her because she's sweet, she's extremely interesting, and her voice is so soft..." He sighed. "I just really want to see her smile..."

"Ah, young love is too precious," she hummed. She then sighed. "Well, I was gonna ship you with Lucy, but..."

He scowled. "That's disgusting. I hate her."

She giggled again and leaned far over, reaching her hand out to him. "All right then, you've convinced me. I'll help you and Ace become canon!"

"...Canon?" he inquired.

She held her fist up. "Yeah, like, I'm gonna help you guys get together and fuck!"

He lowered his eyelids. "You're joking, right? What can you possibly do?"

"C'mon, dude! I helped Sam find Girlfriend Numbers Three through Seven!"

"Oh, well that's reassuring," he replied sarcastically.

"Dude, you need some inside info on how to get her before someone else does and I'm in the chorus with her! Unless you'd like me to ask Liz for help..."

"Please, don't." He arched a brow. "Why do you want to help me, though?"

She shrugged. "I think it's really fun. Besides, you're not working hard enough and you're not doing stuff right. You need somewhat-not-really-professional help and I really wanna see you two become canon!"

"That's because I don't have a clue as to what I'm doing. I try to start a conversation with her and just screw it up."

"See? That's what I mean!" She placed a finger to her chin. "Oh, and also, Daichi's been hitting on her lately and who knows when Sam will wanna tap dat ass, too."

Kid's eyes widened. "Ha! There's no way Ace would even be remotely interested in those recalcitrant idiots!" he scoffed.

"Yay, big words!" She laughed. "So what do you say, Kiddo? We got ourselves a deal?"

Silence fell between the two as he thought about it. There was an endless list going on in his head with what could go wrong in teaming up with her, but for some reason, he found himself taking her hand. "Fine, but if you humiliate me—"

"Ah, calm yourself, I won't, I won't!" she interrupted. "One cannot just fuck up a relationship in the making like that." She smiled. "You so sassy."

He suddenly smirked and jerked his arm back, pulling her over the railing and sending her splashing into the water next to him. "That was payback," he cackled as she threw all of her thick, wet hair out of her face.

"Ah, you stupid motherfucker!" she exclaimed, tackling him back into the water. He laughed and threw her over again, holding her tightly so she wouldn't try to push him down again. She splashed water in his face as she tried to struggle free from his grasp, laughing throughout the whole struggle. From above a crowd of people began to stare at them while park rangers rushed over to the scene.
