Be warned, this is a super longass A/N. And it's full of crack. Read at your own risk.
Okay, so I'm watching that MARVEL Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. show, right? And it's totally awesome and stuff. So during the second episode when Coulson and that chick started talking to each other I was like "Does EVERYONE know him?" And then two seconds later I was like "Whoa…wait a second." She knows him…other people know him. She called him Phillip…other people call him Phillip…
OH MY GOD YOU GUYS! OH MY GOD! FANFICTION IS LEGIT!
There is some major mind fuckery happenin' up in here. Like, this is more legit than a Supernatural reference.

Part 1: Chapter 9

Now that the staff had been forged, Heimdall suggested that the newly-formed group of travelers begin their journey. Well, more like "insisted" if you wanted to get technical about it. Even though Loki's stab wound—courtesy of Tyr—had not completely healed, Phil knew better than to tell the Lord of Alfheim "No." It would have been futile to wait, anyway. Loki was going to live with that mark until the end of his days.

Loki had his remaining belongings spread out on an ash-wood table, placing them in his pack accordingly so they would all fit inside. Fenrir was curled up asleep at the foot of the bed, and occasionally his ears twitched or his tail flopped.

Someone clearing their throat broke Loki out of his musings and caused him to jump. He turned towards the source of the sound and saw Phil standing in the doorway.

"May I come in?"

"Yes. Please do," Loki said with a gesture of his arm allowing admittance. He cracked a smile as Phil took a seat next to Fenrir and scratched behind the wolf's ears. He was just about to turn back to his packing, when Loki noticed something draped over Phil's arm. "What is that you have there?"

"The reason why I am here. For years, these items have been in my possession, and now they must be returned to you."

"To me? But I've never even seen these before."

"They belonged to Laufey. I have kept them since the time of his death, waiting until you began your Quest. The Norns told me where to find you."

"You must really care about my father to hold onto his possession for so long."

"You could say that," Phil replied with a knowing smile.

"So, what exactly are these?"

"First," Phil began as he set the folded bundle to the side. "Your father's sword."

When Loki took the weapon from the other male, he expected his arm to fall off because of the weight. Instead, he was surprised by the lack of weight.

"It's so light!" Loki exclaimed as he pulled the sword out of its sheath.

"It was crafted out of iron by the Dwarves. And one of its special traits is that the blade glows blue whenever draugr are near."

"Draugr? You mean those undead things?"

"The very same. Which is why they used this material. Iron is very fatal to those creatures."

"Yes, and so is salt, fire and decapitation," Loki said matter-of-factly.

"I see you have been keeping up with your reading."

"Well, since there wasn't really anyone to talk to when I was growing up, other than the Norns, I had a lot of free time," Loki commented before he returned the sword to its sheath. "So what about the blouse?"

"This is chainmail, made by the Elves. It is light weight as well, but hard as a dragon's scales," Phil explained, holding the pearl-colored shirt in front of him. After handing Loki the garment, Phil got up to leave. "That's all I wanted to say."

"Oh. Okay. Phil?" The man only turned back and looked at him. "Thank you. For giving these back."

Phil nodded his head once, and then he left the room as quietly as he had come.

After he had finished packing the rest of his belongings, Loki slid the chainmail on under his shirt. He holstered the sword at his left him, then wrapped his traveling cloak around his shoulders. Upon waking up, Fenrir of course wanted a belly rub. Once the wolf was satisfied, Loki was able to secure his bedroll.

xXxXx

When he came downstairs, he wasn't too surprised to see Clint and Darcy arguing. And Tony was annoyed again. Loki smiled to himself, but Tony noticed it.

"Well, dog whisperer, are you ready to go?"

"You're not still on about that, are you?"

"Fine. I'll just go ask him right now!" Darcy huffed before stomping up to Loki. "Loki, can I ride with you on Fenrir's back?"

"Um. Sure, Darcy. But let's wait until after we've made it out of Alfheim—"

"See Clint? I told you he'd say yes!"

"I don't think she's listening to me…"

"Maybe that's why Clint gets so annoyed with her all the time," Tony whispered.

"What are you saying about me?" Darcy hissed, narrowing her eyes suspiciously at the two males.

"I believe this is what they refer to as 'selective hearing.'" Loki shrugged. "Are you sure you want her riding with you?"

"Yes, Tony. I'm sure. I trust her."

"Even after what she did to your hair?"

"That subject is taboo and you know it," Loki said petulantly and crossed his arms over his chest.

"Hey Loki, that guy over there is staring at you. And he's not being very discreet about it."

Loki glanced in the direction that Tony had pointed out and saw Steven looking at him with a scrutinizing expression. Then he noticed that the man's eyes weren't focused on him, but on Fenrir.

"I don't think he believed me when I said I have a pet wolf…" Fenrir snorted and puffed out his chest. "Don't be a show off," Loki scolded before ruffling the wolf's head.

"What are you talking about?" Tony whispered.

"I'll tell you later," Loki whispered back.

"It appears to me that everyone is present and accounted for. If nobody has any objections, let us be on our way," Phil announced from somewhere around the edge of the group.

The chatter seemed to die down, and any of the people who had set their belongings on the ground leaned down and lifted them over their shoulders. Darcy tried to get Clint to "be a man" and carry her bag, but he told her to grow a backbone and carry it herself.

The Elves had given Tony a couple spare changes of clothes, some food, and a bag to carry them in. Afterwards, once he was certain they were out of hearing range, he complained that he didn't like the clothes because they were too pretty. He tried to give them to Loki, since they were "more his style," but the other male simply said they were too big.

Heimdall wished them well on their journey, and as the group made their way out of Alfheim, the Elves either bowed or lifted a hand as a farewell. Volstagg couldn't be any more anxious to leave.

TBC

Okay, I've decided not to do the music. It's just too confusing and too much of a hassle. Anywho. I had to change the thing where Loki gets the sword and stuff, since Loki's not a Hobbit and he wouldn't be using a letter opener. And it's not like Phil was gonna have Loki take his clothes off or something that would be weird.

And while it's true that draugr can be killed by iron (which is why the sword is made by Dwarves and not Elves), they can also be killed by decapitation, being burned, and having the body thrown into the ocean. Salt and burn, mother fuckers! Obligatory Supernatural reference.
