Prompt: Asami tells Bolin she loves him for the first time. - Anon

A/N: Oh sweet jesus I've never written Bosami before ah

It was a cold winter night in Republic City. The streets were blanketed with a soft snow, and the sky was still dropping snow flakes to the earth at a rapid pace.

Bolin was never one for snow. It reminded him of the harsh times he and Mako had on the streets, and how desperately his brother tried to keep them warm with his firebending, though he still wasn't sure how to control it well. While it did look pretty, Bolin preferred summer.

Asami, on the other hand, lived for the snow. She loved how it looked at night, with the dim city lights reflecting on the tiny snowflakes, making them glisten. She loved how they graciously fell on her face when she looked up, and how her hair looked while it was covered in the snow. That was why she had wanted to go outside and walk in the park. The snow always looked beautiful in the park.

Bolin did not want to go outside, for the listed reasons. He preferred to stay indoors, and that's exactly what he told her. She pouted and sat down next to the Earthbender, curling herself up to his side. He wrapped his arm around her, but then felt guilty. Seeing that puppydog pout of hers had triggered something in him, and suddenly he did want to watch the snow. Just, not outside.

He stood up, taking her by the hand gently. "Come with me," he told her. She complied and followed him out of the apartment. She was curious as to what he was doing. He went through a plethora of random hallways before they reached a long flight of stairs. He took her up there, and opened the door. It was a room identical to their apartment, only filled with boxes and boxes; nothing more.

Asami looked around, confused. He looked back at her and softly smiled at her while tugging on her hand. He led her through the maze of boxes before they reached the windows.

Asami gasped as she looked out the window. "Oh, wow. You can see the whole city! Oh, wow..." She marveled as she let go of his hand and walked closer to the windows. She could see the snow perfectly, and how it covered the city like a giant blanket.

Bolin moved behind her, wrapping his arms around her small waist. "So you like it?" He murmured into her ear. He felt her nod, and he pressed her back tighter into his chest. And they stood there, watching the city. Bolin peered around her to sneak a peek of her expression. She had a smile on her face, and her eyes were bright. He loved seeing her happy like this. He nearly thrived on it.

"I love you," Asami blurted. She immediantly reddened, happy that Bolin could not see her face. They had never said that to each other before. She was just so caught up in the moment, she hadn't thought about that. She just subconsciously took their relationship to the next step. She held her breath, afraid of what would happen next.

"I- I love you too, Asami," Bolin said confidently. Asami let go of the breath and turned in his arms, taking his face in her hands. "Good," she whispered as she kissed him passionately on the lips. He smiled into the kiss, finally happy that the next step was taken in their relationship.

He realized he didn't hate snow as much as he used to, now.
