Touhou Gensokyo Girls
Episode 60: Prodigious Vampire of Destruction (UNknown?)
In the First few seconds everyone had at least one or two bullet holes, as dodging or grazing every incoming bullet was physically impossible, in the seconds that came after, everyone was pulling back to a more manageable position.
For the first time in all of her life, Aya had serious difficulty getting a sense of where everyone was at any given time, it was next to impossible as everyone began firing on each side at approximately the same time, as her entire field of view was dominated by danmaku flying left and right, she knew that if she wanted to take great pictures and closeups, she had to risk her life more so than ever before, but this was too good a deal to pass up, she dove into a maelstrom of danmaku spell's firing from both sides.
It was constantly changing as someone was making cover fire for another's advance.
Despite the gensokyo alliance clearly outnumbered the deadly trio, the trio was getting used to working together in a way that interconnected their attack, as Flandre and Koishi seemed to share the same mind, the allies hadn't had the same practice and while they tried to use their superior number to circle and flank the trio, Flandre duplicated herself into four and spread out to avoid being surrounded.
Before they had entered the portal to the underworld, the saviours did discuss tactics about who did what. So with one nod from Reimu. Reimu, Ran, Mokou, and Suika stormed ahead in tight formations with Reimu leading the charge and a powerful divine force field in front to protect them from any direct bullets in front.
"Not so fast" Flandre hissed and with her fiste she destroyed the sheild protecting them from any direct attacks, and with the the defence down Utsuho fired a nuclear beam directly at them.
"TAKE EVASIVE ACTIONS!" Ran commanded to everyone within earshot. As their attack team broke off from each other.
Flandre and Utsuho was on them in an instant, so Mokou got kicked by a big incoming foot from the Yatagarasu, Ran got slammed away by the vampire. Only Reimu went on unhurt, As Suika got grazed by the nuclear beam.
Flandre began shooting after Reimu and Suika thinking them as the most powerful, they should be the most fun to fight, but it was interrupted by a spinning fox who came at Flandre, but as she was physically stronger, she just stopped the spinning fox with her left hand and a huge burning red sword appeared in her right hand ready to cut the fox in two.
Ran just smiled as a portal opened up right behind Flandre. The little vampire was about to be cut in half by way of an extremely long green burning blade, As Youmu attacked Keine followed with kicks and punches.
Flandre managed to block Youmu's tower sword Roukanken, but she was kicked in the head with enough force that she would properly have lost a tooth if she was a human, she instantly retaliated with a maze of bullets that would trap her enemies quickly enough before they would have any chance of escape.
Ran, Youmu and Keine, despite being prepared for the worst... this was too quick for them to react to and too dense to dodge, they were repeatedly hit so fast they did not feel where they were being hit, because pain was everywhere.
Reimu and Suika reacted quickly and protected the three allies, Reimu put up divine shields in front of Keine and Youmu. Suika summoned a bobble of mist around Ran to spare them more pain and the possibility of death.
Flandre laughed manically and instantly blew up both the shells and the bobble, she then bombarded them all with her infamous Starbow Break, but this time the heroines-of-gensokyo's artillery was ready to assist, the Marisa, Alice, Patchouli, Yuyuko and Satori began focus firing on Flandre with lasers and elemental attacks.
The undodgeable bombardment was forcing Flandre to backpedal away or be utterly annihilated on the spot.
In the meantime, the luna princess had seen Mokou in a fist fight with the Yatagarasu, and she too wanted to go in close, as she and Reisen flew in to attack Koishi who seemed to now be the only one of the deadly trio to keep their side firing at much closer range. But Koishi clearly had the upper hand in this fight, as Reisen's hypnotic eyes had no effect on the closed eyed subconscious satori, and Kaguya lacked the experience in fighting a being outside of her understanding.
Flandre was being burned, frozen and then burned again, but pain didn't seem to impact her at all, when she suddenly against all kind of logic attacked the artillery head on at supersonic speed, fast enough that even Aya had trouble getting sharp photos of the speedy vampire.
Before anyone knew what was going on, danmaku explosions occurred all over area, with the heroines of Gensokyo's artillery team taking major damage, Satori was hit several places as was Patchouli, who too was being too slow to react, Yuyuko's fan was blown up, Marisa was the only one who had anticipated Flandre's sudden attack and was now cruising around, avoiding the incoming bullets from all over the cave. Alice too managed to be scarcely harmed, but at the beginning of the battle she had taking ninety-five laser capable dolls with her, but now she counted only eleven remaining.
Marisa continued evading, "Flan~ I'm over here, can't yo- " She mocked, it was a terrible mistake, while the bullets were out of range, Flandre herself was not, Marisa was now in a split second face to face with her former vampire friend, the next second Flandre kicked the broom away under her, before she even noticed her missing broom, she was grabbed from behind and held up into the air.
With one hand Flandre held up the human in the cape of the neck and with the other she held the head still... so she could whisper the following three words into Marisa's ear, "Marisa... I'm thirsty!" and bit her hard in the neck.
"In need´of help please! I'm losing some serious weight over here." Marisa shouted at the top of her lungs while frantically trying to get free.
Reimu quickly fired a few holy slips at them, it's holy effect had no effect on humans, but vampires were different, as it both sent painful shockwaves and repelled the vampire off of Marisa, screaming in agony.
"Serves you right, MONSTER!" Reimu shouted angerily, as Flandre now had all her focus on Reimu and lunged at the shrine maiden with her spell made burning blade, Reimu barely had time to block with her divine shield, "I am growing tired already." She cursed in annoyance.
Suika rushed in and with a well placed knuckle sandwich, Flandre was sent flying through the air, and a loud crack could be heard when she crashed through the cave's bedrock wall.
"I hate you all." Flandre smiled mischievously in a sweet voice. Then the cave's wall looked as if it was disintegrated from within and the four hundred meter high and two kilometer wide walls were instantly turned into rubble, Flandre's wing jewels was shining in all the rainbow's colour and an aura of pure destructive energy surrounded her.
Alice, Patchouli, Yuyuko, Satori and Marisa who was lifted up in the air thanks to Alice's magical threads, began firing on the vampire, but all the bullets were being eaten up before they hit the target.
Suika began to realize how dangerous the vampire was at this moment, she took a hefty decision, "Reimu, I'll fight Flandre myself, I don't want to see you hurt..."
Reimu nodded and padded Suika affectionately on the head, "Good luck."
Suika smiled in return and went for Flandre with no hesitation.
As soon as Suika got in close range, Flandre focused fire on the little oni with no way for a much slower oni to evade.
Suika had been blown up by Flandre before with no real damage done, but this time it felt like her vapor itself was being erased by the vampire's destructive energy, Suika quickly realised how Flandre was able to not only hurt her kin, but ultimately kill them.
Wounded and tired, Ran retreated further back, to observe the situation at large. She noticed Suika was being dismantled every time she was hit and knew it was only a matter of time before she would be as i'll fated as some of her kin did, that must not happen! So she shouted to her comrades. "MOKOU! KAGUYA! SAVE SUIKA!"
Mokou who was still fighting growled a bit when she heard herself being ordered around, but she knew why she, of all people, was asked, she shouted in return, "REIMU! TAKE OVER!"
Reimu covered for Mokou's flight to the crazy vampire and help the overwhelmed oni.
When Kaguya heard her name she just grew excited, finally she was called forth, but she was engaging the rouge satori in a fight, so she too had to abandon her current fight, "Reisen you handle it, just remember to keep it cool."
"PRINCESS KAGUYA! ...Don't leave me! I can't take that crazy thing myself." Reisen complained in share desperation.
Koishi was getting tired of this shifting battle, so she was shooting fast moving projectiles at Kaguya, but at a slash from a katana blade, those bullets were cut over.
"Don't worry Luna rabbit, you are not alone." Keine assured her with a comforting smile, as she along with the katana wielding Youmu, both went into action. Ran too appeared behind them, ready to give her last.
The cave itself was in constant danger of collapsing, loose rock pillars that held up the roof, broke off and fell down, only to be blown up by danmaku before it even remotely hit anyone fighting or the ground beneath.
The immortals were right in the nick of time, when they were needed the most, as Suika was being greatly weakened as her moisture level was dropping dramatically.
"Retreat little oni, you have shown enough courage for now." Kaguya smiled as she too was hit and exploded, just to reappear again like it never happened.
"Kaguya! Focus! You can keep dying, but you can't keep fighting." Mokou firmly pointed out, as she was throwing explosive fireballs at the vampire to force a defensive stand, long enough for the oni to get back.
Flandre found the immortal beings a fun pair of challenges as her destructive powers seemed to matter little to these beings, but they too lacked the speed to properly hit her, and not just bruise her.
Nearby the bridge princess was looking at the fight, how it vexed her, "Everyone is fighting! I'm so jealous." She shifted between sobbing and making angry faces.
"If you are so Jealous, let's enter it." said a very battered but very proud and tall oni, she then grabbed the bridge princess, jumped with all of her might which meant flying right at the heart of the battle.
Yuugi took quick glance around, then noticed the shrine maiden fighting only one on one, she smiled, "Help the red-white!" Then throw the bridge princess in that direction.
"HEEE-EEELP!" Screamed Parsee, as she was thrown through the air.
Yuugi observed as most of both of the fighting sides were puzzled why a simple youkai was flying by, screaming like a little girl.
"YUUGI! You still kicking?" Suika happily exclaimed in joy.
Yuugi had a vein throb in her temple as she grabbed Suika's cheeks and pinched them, "You looking down on me? you think I'd drop that easily, huh!" Yuugi let go and together with Suika they refocused on the fight. "Let's break this living killing machine, so we can drink in peace again!"
"After this! We all need a drink." Suika replied with a huge smile on her face.
Yuugi proudly smiled in turn. As both of them reentered the fight.
But even with Yuugi returning to duty, the odds were not on their side, While Utsuho was getting very exhausted from the overwhelming number of talented fighters standing against them, Koishi had a bliss of completely outsmarting her opponents by attacking with subconscious spells that confused her opponents as they couldn't figure out what was a real danger to them and what was not.
Flandre quickly found out that she was by far the fastest player on the board (since Aya was only taking pictures) combined with her destructive powers, she devastated the Heroines of Gensokyo's artillery's support by using supersonic dashes to go behind the enemies and fire upon them at point blank shot, Alice, Patchouli and Yutoko' second spell setups were destroyed before their eyes and began making protective spells instead as retreating would only be to Flandre's speed advantage.
Everyone could suddenly feel a strong wind coming through the caves which rapidly grew stronger and stronger, and from the wind, emerged the Goddess of the Wind herself, with her priestess Sanae, the kappa Nitori packed with everything she would need in a fight and last but not least, the celestial Tenshi with her Sword of Hisou.
"Sorry for the wait, I hope we aren't too late." Kanako apologized as her team got into fighting position.
To say that the heroines of Gensokyo were glad for some reinforcement was an understatement, Alice and Patchouli especially liked the sight of their ally goddess.
Marisa had, much to her dismay, spent a lot of time getting her broom back, so she flew up close to the newcomers with her trademark smirk, "If you'd been too late, we'd have already won this. *ZE*"
Kanako ignored Marisa's quips in favor of quickly glancing around, then she began ordering her subjects, "Sanae, you'll help Reimu, Nitori help Ran, Tenshi you too should help Ran-"
"Wait! I want to fight the pretty vampire! Not someone weird!" Tenshi complained, she really wanted a rematch against her vampiric rival.
"Suit yourself, just know that even the immortals seem to have trouble stopping Flandre's rampage." Kanako warned her explicitly, but quickly changed to a more excited expression, "I too want to see what power the vampire have gained over the years."
Tenshi didn't care much for Kanako's warning, so she just rushed into battle while shouting "I'M BACK JEWELRY VAMPIRE!" she passed by the surprised Kaguya and Mokou, to deliver a horizontal heavy cleave of all her might.
Even with her celestial power behind the slash. Flandre caught the celestial's sword in mid-air, she slashed at Tenshi with her nails in a instant retaliation.
Tenshi could not believe the amount of blood running out of her wound with an intensive pain to follow, she just looked shocked at the vampire with the sinister smile and her sword in the hand, ready to finish her off for good.
But the heavenly blade was stopped by the goddess herself who commented, "Hello again miss Scarlet, your madness Ill suits you, so I came to calm you down, with any means necessary!" she warned in earnest.
"You can try!" Flandre grinned in delight, like it was all in good fun. But when she attacked with her burning blade spell, she was blown back into the cave wall by the full divine power of the wind goddess. Now at a distance, Flandre retaliated with her trademark spell, Starbow Break, with millions of bullets right at the howring goddess
Kanako just smiled as death came at her, "It seems my first try wasn't persuasive enough" She summed the full extent of the faith powered spell 'Divine Virtue of Wind God' Millions of holy card-like slips smashed into the attacking spell, with a firework-like display never seen before in the underground caves.
Seeing an opportunity as the vampire was intensely occupied by holding her own against the power of a god, Mokou rushed in close and kicked the blade out of scarlet lady's hand, with Tenshi grabbing the sword in mid air, both quickly retreating with Kaguya covering for them, "Thanks, I owe you one for that" Tenshi smiled as they went back.
"That was really good plan my rival." Kakuya added in a cheerful voice.
Mokou only replied with an aggressive, "Let's give the blood sucker hell!" And the three of them began adding to Kanako's already overwhelming powerful attack.
Seeing and sensing Flandre being completely overwhelmed by a god, two immortals plus a celestial. Koishi wanted to join the vampire on the front, but first she had a total of four opponents of her own to beat. She used a combination of three spells, one that tricked her opponent to believe she was firing from a different direction then creating a maze of deadly hearts making escape next to impossible and quickly following up by turning herself into near invisible form of a dark red rose. As She trapped all four in one go, Youmu, Reisen, Keine and Nitori was hit one by one in her invisible form, only Nitori with a fully recharged shield was still going strong,
In the meantime Reimu and Sanae, with the help of some tired onis, were fighting with the powerful but tired Yatagarasu, so far they had been able to evade, block or counter anything the hell raven could dish up.
REIMU-SANAE! THINK-FAST! Marisa shouted just in time for Reimu and Sanae to hear the warning quickly enough that they could avoid an elemental enhanced humming Final Spark from the magicians in the allied party.
Utsuho could see her opponents making a sudden dive for no reason, then a sudden glowing was right in front of her, at the last minute she threw up her atomic shield, which had no protection value whatsoever, the last she remembered that day was her shield being overpowered and BANG...
An explosion so powerful that is rocked the already crippled cave even more and sent light into places in the ancient city where no light had appeared since its destruction.
Flandre's and Koishi's illusion of being invincible was shattered as one of the trio was down to only two, in that instant they became aware of how vulnerable they really were now, Flandre grappred Koishi and fled back to the palace as fast as she could in her now wounded state.
Finally seeing an end to all this destruction, the heroines pursued them and attacked them the whole way back, only Satori did not follow, as she went to look at her pet's condition, and see if she could talk some sense into that bird brain of hers.
Aya... being the only one fast enough to get to overtake Flandre's speed with ease... Began taking photos from angles instead of stopping Flandre which she would be well equipped to do at this point.
Sakuya, who even in her weakened state, had ventured a bit out of the Palace, only to see Flandre, Koishi and Aya followed by a small army heading right past her, back to the palace, She tried to call to them, but she was too tired to shout properly.
Alice, Patchouli and Nitori were among the slower of the team, but because of that, they spotted someone familiar down on the ground, "Patchouli? Is that Sakuya standing there?" Alice pointed in the direction of the person.
"Are you sure?!"Patchouli couldn't see properly as the one down on the ground were dirty and torn everywhere, but as she lowered her altitude to get a better look, it was indeed the old familiar maid from her home, "Sakuya!" she exclaimed.
Sakuya slowly waved at them to pick her up.
"I'll get you." Alice caught her in a small magical net, with the sole purpose of lifting her up.
EARTH PALACE: COURTYARD
As they were just about to enter front gate of the palace, a huge divine wall appeared right before them.
"IT'S OVER!" Kanako declared and added for emphasis, "Your little game has reached the end."
"You haven't beaten us yet!" Flandre snapped back with a snarl, she blew up the wall, but it reappeared again just as fast.
"Give up Flandre, we have you now!" Ran firmly stated as everyone had pointed a ready spell on the vampire.
To Flandre the battle had begun to feel long and tiresome, she was worn out both physically and mentally, and she started to feel the pain from the countless times she had been hit, without even noticing, but hearing Ran's voice was synonymous with imprisonment, and no matter what, she would NEVER be imprisoned anymore, she screamed so loud that it rang in echoes all over the caves of the underworld. With the last reserve of her power she was erasing the cave foundation itself creating avalanches over them, threatening to bury them all alive!
Both Kanako and Ran could feel the catastrophe happening and feared for the safety of Gensokyo and cried out in desperation, "STOP HER!"
Everyone fired everything in their arsenal to once and for all stop this madness.
Koishi used her last energy to block and protect Flandre, while she did hold them off, she only did so in a few seconds, before she was fatigued and was hit repeatedly and toppled to ground.
"Sorry Flan, but we can't have you blowing up the world" Marisa grinned, but there was clear hint of sadness in her voice, when she and her comrades amimed their spells at the unprotected little jewel-winged vampire.
Flandre was on the verge of erasing the key areas in the ground's weak points, but she got countered with 10 spells and so she crashed through the divine wall and landed on the ground right in front of the earth palace, torn and unconscious …The battle was over.
A long silence followed, as they looked at each other for what to do now next.
Marisa looked down at the defeated vampire, first she thought but to check if she was alive.
Kanako moved Marisa aside, and performed a little spell, "I've made sure she will not wake up by herself." She believed such precautions were necessary.
Then she took Flandre in her own arms and carefully carried Flandre inside the palace with everyone following them.
Koishi was heaved over the shoulder of Yuugi who carried her along.
EARTH PALACE: NEARBY
Kanako placed Flandre on a table in one of the few places unscraped by battle, "Everyone, We need to decide what we will do with Flandre Scarlet, as we have all seen, she is too dangerous to keep around on her own, and imprisoning her is just creating another disaster for ourselves at a later date, Ran Yakumo, do you have a suggestion?"
Ran shook her head dismissively, "Yukari ordered me to take her home, but I doubt we would able to contain her anymore, she would just break down the barriers once she feels bored or angry.
"And who knows what catastrophe will happen next time she is free, or what dangerous youkai that would join her on a murderous rampage." Mokou added for emphasis, in all her long years, she had never witnessed anyone being so dangerous, she was not even sure they could keep Gensokyo safe as long as something this terrifying thing could fly around unhindered.
"My sister Koishi, is a gentle soul who would normally never do something so horrific, but I fear what would happen if they were to meet again..." Satori told her beliefs in a sad tone. "My pet Utsuho, will be taught a lesson about bad behaviour for a second time, this time, more severe." She firmly assured them.
"She could always keep the geysers going, so we all could have lots of energy on her account." Sanae happily suggested.
"Let's keep our focus on Flandre, we need to figure out how to solve this dilemma first! I... unfortunately, can't keep her powers in check indefinitely." Kanako turned to the vampire's former caretaker, "Patchouli Knowledge, since you have lived with the vampire for many years, do you have any suggestion?"
"I would have asked Remilia, but she is not ready for a suggestion." Patchouli felt torn over this decision, "Let's ask Sakuya, she was the one who was originally sent to kill her."
Alice first looked down on the floor, before muttering, "I'll get her..."
Reimu who was mute the whole time, looked over at her friend who too was silent, seemed confused with shaky hands.
Marisa was swearing uncontrollably, agitation would be too small a word to disguise the inner frustration she felt, like the dangerous realisation was finally penetrating her thick skull.
Alice returned with the torn Sakuya, held up by magic threads to help her walk.
"Sakuya Izayoi, do you have a suggestion about what we should do with your mistress' sister?!" Kanako's words loomed high on everyone's nerves.
Sakuya lowered her head like she was gathering courage to say what needed to be said, "No... no I do not know how to keep Gensokyo safe, while Flandre remains... alive..."
Kanako sighed the deepest sigh she had ever done in her entire divine lifetime, "So it comes to this after all..."
"The real question is... who should deliver the final blow?" Ran coldly stated. Like it had been her intention from the start.
"Anyone that would like to volunteer for the execution... please step forward." Kanako inwardly cursed herself for the small lump in her voice.
Sakuya produced an ominous looking dagger with a curved wave-like black blade that she had taken from one of the fellow dead guild members, "For the honor of my guild, I will perform the last duty I was tasked..."
Both Kanako and Ran nodded their approval.
Alice and Suika's eyes were crying uncontrollably, they had too many good memories with this eager vampire, to ignore that her existence had meant anything to them, Marisa on the other hand just stood frozen, silent and without any emotion to show at all.
The tip of the dagger was placed right over Flandre's heart, with one swift piercing strike, the dagger penetrated the vampire's heart with a red-orange burning light. Flandre screamed a loud agonizing scream as her life was ripped apart, so loud that several windows shattered to pieces and everyone's ears rang for the next couple of seconds, then the vampire slowly withered and turned to ashes...
Everyone stood silent to honor a once happy little girl who had given them all so much joy and laughter with her childish innocence and lust for adventure… a better time indeed.
Then Marisa burst to tearers and grabbed Sakuya while yelling, "HOW COULD YOU DO IT!" shaking Sakuya violently, so much infact that Sakuya was in fear of passing out.
Alice yanked Marisa away from Sakuya with a violent heave, "It's not her fault, it's all of our faults, for not being there when she needed us."
Those words rang in everyone's minds, everyone wondered if they have had some of the reason to feel guilt.
Marisa just burrowed her head in Alice's chest and cried, Suika came over to cry together with them.
With Reimu feeling the overwhelming sadness, but in all honesty she was mostly thinking, "Finally... It's over"
Then Sakuya couldn't contain her sadness, next was Patchouli beginning to feel the weight in her heart, before long everyone else was sobbing a little.
"Hi... everyone. Sis? Why are they so many people, did we have a party or something?" with a voice that sounded like she been drunk and had just awakened.
Satori turned around to look at her sister with a very sorrowful expression, "Koishi, I am sorry, but we had to kill Flandre, it was the only way we-"
"Who?" Koishi asked, the name didn't ring a bell. "And sis, why are..." she stopped speaking due to the pain, and only then did she see that she was bleeding everywhere, including her closed third eye.
"We had to put you down, you were getting a bit out of hand." Kanako told her in a soft voice.
"What did I do?! I don't recall anything at all!" Koishi cried earnestly, but she did feel like she had been a punching bag and target practice for a few hours.
"You just downed a huge dose of Flandre, I think you should keep away from it next time, you seem allergic to that stuff" Yuyuko laughed a sinister laughter... just for the fun of it.
Youmu sighed in disbelief, sometimes her mistress was just heartless.
Koishi was utterly mind boggling, none of this made sense, what was thid Flandre stuff they spoke of, but she could ask tomorrow, "If you don't mind, I'm going to bed, I feel terrible." It took her a few tries to get up.
"So she recalls nothing of it?" Aya asked puzzled when the satori was out of earshot.
"I told you, she is not aware of what she have done" Satori explained directly, or what she could explain of her sisters rare phenomenon.
"Could you at least keep her here, until we can be sure! And if you don't mind, I would like to stay to make sure that your sister nor your pet would run rampage again" Mokou insisted as she felt it was her duty.
Satori knew there were no point in such, but to ease everyone, she relented, "I will keep her here for lengthy period of time, A you can stay for this period of time."
In the meantime Sakuya and Patchouli had found a little urn fit to contain the remains of Flandre, "We will take our leave here, we need to go back, we have a mansion rebuild." Patchouli made a wry smile.
Alice grabbed Patchouli's hand to get her attention and said, "If you need any help, don't hesitate to ask."
Patchouli looked at Alice with gratefulness in her eyes, "In that case, I ask, could you come tomorrow with a huge army of worker dolls, it would take too long with magic alone."
"It would be my pleasure." Alice released her and stepped into a portal that Ran provided for her.
SCARLET MANSION: late night
They found that Remilia and Koakuma had already begun to remove some of the debris.
"Mistress, I'm so glad you are already up again." Sakuya smiled briefly, but her sadness melted it away.
"Of course I am" Remilia burst with pride. But she couldn't quite hide the shaking feeling she had and her clearly weakened state.
When Remilia noticed the urn Sakuya was holding, She shed a single tear, her breath became ragged before she broke down crying.
The next couple of days, Remilia wanted to be left alone, no one was allowed to go near her, not even wanting to hear the whole tale of how her sister died or what happened underground that very night, days would pass before she would speak or listen to anyone, and a whole month passed before she wanted the full story of her sister's death.
In the end, Yukari came to apologize for her lack of foresight on her part and her not upholding the promise she was supposed to uphold, but in the end, Remilia just asked the elder youkai to leave her be.
HAKUREI SHRINE: morning
The weather was sunny and spring had come at least, to Reimu, it was pleasant morning, it was warm and quiet, the snow had finally melted away, leaving less for her to do, in fact, she was kinda hoping for some company to spend a pleasant day with.
"Good morning Reimu, so how are you folding up?" Alice politely greeted Reimu with a warm smile.
Reimu smiled in turn, this couldn't turn out any better, "I feel very good today, and you?"
"I feel fine, thank you very much." Alice just stood and took in the scenery and feeling of spring for a moment, "A lovely morning don't you think?"
Reimu was quite pleased with the weather so far, so she couldn't help but agree, "It is, anyway, did you just drop by or was there something you wanted?"
"Actually this is the meeting place Marisa and I decided on for our rendezvous." Alice then lit up as she remembered, "Oh and there were something, have you seen any signs of Suika or is she still helping to rebuild the Ancient City?"
Reimu gave her an odd look, "Do you not remember how trashed the city was after we came to their rescue, even with every youkai helping with its reconstruction, I think it will take months before we see any sign of Suika, last I heard, the Moriya gods too were helping with the rebuilding, something about getting their awareness to the underdwellers or something."
Marisa swooped down from above, as dramatically as possible, "Hi slackers."
"Hi Marisa, just taking it easy." Reimu was actually glad to see her friend, it had been awhile since they last met.
Alice handed an oddly shaped package to Marisa, "Here Marisa, magic-threaded cylinders as ordered, still working for the Kappas I see?"
"Since you and Patchouli are repairing the mansion together, Nitori asked me if I could continue helping with the magical-enhanced nuclear power plant." Marisa explained, this was too exciting to pass up, "So Kappa Lake is where I'm going, *ZE*."
"So do you want a cup of tea before you continue?" Reimu offered as a polite gesture.
"No thanks, I'm good." Marisa properly strapped the package to herself, so it wouldn't fall off during her flight.
"It's very thoughtful of you, but I think I'd better get going, my dolls are just in the way if I don't control them." Alice explained as she took to the sky, "Be seeing you."
"Well bye Reimu, maybe I'll come by later." Marisa waved goodbye and she too disappeared up in the clouds.
After waving them both off, Reimu psyched herself up to get some things done today, "Perhaps I too should be doing something, who knows, maybe today some visitors would arrive."
Ending A
Alice returned with the torn Sakuya, held up by magic threads to help her walk.
"Sakuya Izayoi, do you a have suggestion about what we should do with your mistress' sister?!" Kanako's words loomed high on everyone's nerves.
"WAIT!" exclaimed Yukari, who tilted out of a portal, like she was extremely drunk and hadn't seen a bed in recent years.
"MASTER!" Ran shouted in surprise and rushed over to assist Yukari.
With the strong but tired fox to assist her, Yukari could remain standing when she spoke, "There is a way to remove Flandre's destructive powers."
Everyone looked at her, mentally begging her to elaborate, but instead Yukari opened another portal, and the Yamaxanadu, Shiki Eiki stepped forth, everyone turned their heads to look at the little yama.
"I sense a lot of sinners here today... but for today, my focus will only be on Flandre Scarlet." For Shiki to give up on the chance to lecture people, spoke volumes about the severity of the situation.
Everyone including the wind goddess moved aside for the great judge to come forth, "Lady Yasaka stand opposite I." Shiki commanded in soft tone.
Kanako did what she was told without any qustions and awaited further details from the yama.
Shiki placed two small cubical objects on the table, a dark one was to Flandre's left and a light one to her right side, that began to radiate energy around the vampire, "Do as I do." She strictly commanded, she held her hands over Flandre, Kanako obediently mimicked the gesture, "Now, concentrate on the inner demonic power, sleeping within this body."
Everyone came closer to see black liquid-like smoke, was beginning to rise from Flandre's chest, and into the hands of both Shiki and Kanako, both seemed to get a dark aura around them.
Sanae was about to burst out with questions, but one sharp look from her goddess, and she held it at bay.
The Tengu was about to take a picture, but Satori stopped her, "No... they must not be disturbed." she informed in a low voice.
Aya was a bit irritated, but nodded in politeness nevertheless, she just had to document it in detail from memory later on.
After an hour of continuing oozing out the black liquid-like dark energy, it finally stopped coming from inside the little vampire, both Kanako and Shiki stood wavering a little as they tried to contain the dark energy in themselves, Sanae was about to hurry over and support her lady, but Satori stopped her "Don't touch them! the energy must be cleansed and erased in peace, if you touch your god, you could die!" Satori warned in a hurry.
Sanae was tripping impatiently, this worried her, "When can I help?"
Satori held up a hand to calm the young priestess, then the dark aura was finally beginning to dissipate and a minute later it was gone, she lowered her hand, "Now you can help."
Sanae rushed to support Kanako, Alice did the same for Shiki.
"The cleansing is complete." Shiki stated as Alice helped her back to her feet.
"We did it! Now Gensokyo is finally saved!" Kanako declared joyfully.
Everyone felt relief wash over them, some even slumped on the ground.
"Hi... everyone? sis why are they so many people, did we have a party or something?" with a voice that sounded like she been drunk and had just awakened Koishi addressed her sister.
"Hi sister, lady Shiki and lady Yasaka have just removed the destructive power from your friend Flandre." Satori looked down upon her sister with both pity, kindness and sadness.
"Who? …Oh! That sparkling little vampire." Koishi was pointing at Flandre still laying on table, "I remember playing with her once in some weird world, but that's all." she added in earnest.
"You don't remember battling with us?" Sanae asked in a puzzled manner.
"Battling? No, but I feel like I have been used for target practice by kappa cannons." Koishi commented on her body complaining about the immensive pain she felt whenever she moved an inch,
Nitori had trouble not to laugh, she could easily picture Koishi with a big red mark and then her and her neighbors shooting after the satori in rabbit season.
"She must be out of the trance-like state, in other words, the last thing she did before succumbing must have been playing with Flandre in my domain." Yukari informed to the best of her ability in her very weak drowsy state.
Koishi didn't really get any of what they were talking about, but it didn't matter, she was too tired to listen anyway "If you don't mind, I'm going to bed, I feel terrible."
As the worn out satori went to bed, slowly, "So that's done… what's next? *ZE*" Marisa asked now that they were all gathered.
"How about we hold a feast at my shrine to celebrate our victory?!" Kanako replied, invited them all.
From the ones who still possessed enough energy to rejoice in jubilee, a massive roar was heard, the rest just smiled and waved their approval.
From all the noise around her, Flandre was beginning to wake, but she couldn't see properly, she felt ungodly weak, like she had been drained of all her energy, "Where... am I?"
Marisa was the first to spot that life were returning in the little jewel winged vampire, "Hi Flan, you awake?"
"What happened... I feel so weak." Flandre starting to notice it was Marisa who talked to her.
"We kinda had to remove your powers." Marisa explained while scratching the back of her head, "You see... we couldn't have you destroying the world, I hope you understand *ZE*"
Then the recent events flashed by before her eyes, "What have I done!" Flandre cried in despair, "Please... lock me away and forget about me..." she began crying even more as memories were coming to her.
"Your punishment is not for you to decide!" Shiki firmly stated in a very harsh tone, "For your sins, you will work with the judges of right and wrong, until you have earned your freedom."
For Flandre, it didn't sound worse than being locked away, so she just nodded slightly and replied with a weak "...Okay."
"You have half an hour to rest, then say your goodbyes and follow me...understood!" Shiki made it very clear that her word was law.
"Yes... I understand." Flandre sobbed a little, but in reality, she felt like she understood nothing, as long as it was a punishment, it mattered little.
"Don't worry Flanny, Shiki is very strict, but she is really sweet once you get on her good side." Suika whispered closely to Flandre's ear. If the Yama heard her, she gave no indication of such.
Shiki briefly made eye contact with Satori and mentally sent a warning to her, "make sure your pet understands what she has done, or she will be harshly punished too."
Satori nodded in complete understanding, she too thought Utsuho had had too many slip ups, and this time she needed to learn right from wrong.
Yuyuko came forth to comfort the little vampire, "Here Flandre, one blood cookie to regain your strength, my last one."
"Thank you, I... truly appreciate it." Flandre finally felt she had the energy to sit up.
"You are welcome, it's not every day you get to hunt a vampire." Yuyuko said with big smile, like it all had just had been one fun little game.
Kanako who had regained her strength, laid a hand on Flandre's shoulder and spoke softly, "When your time serving is over, feel free to come by some time."
"Thank you, kind goddess" Flandre bowed in appreciation.
Patchouli decided to show her friendly side for once, "I will tell your sister of what has happened, and where you are going."
"Thanks Patchy." Flandre eyes were once again beginning to water.
"Even with everything that happened, I still hope you have a good time with the Yama of Gensokyo, miss Shiki." Alice smiled and gave the little vampire a hug and a kiss on the left cheek.
Flandre was getting teary eyed again this day… well, more like it didn't stop.
Yukari, who still mostly wanted to teleport back to bed, found it in herself to sit down besides Flandre, "I'm sorry I couldn't use more time with you, In the end, I haven't been the best care taker, and for that, I'm truly sorry." She muttered in a very drowsy tone but still with clear hint of regret in her voice.
Flandre didn't say anything, she just listened to the spoken words, she didn't really feel any anger towards Yukari, she at least did care for her. "I'm sorry too, I… I don't what I'm doing"
"Miss Scarlet, it's time!" Shiki ordered, with no hint of emotion.
Flandre calmed herself, as she mentally prepared her to say, "Bye everyone, For what I've done, I am... so sorry"
Marisa clapped her on the back "Relax... It's in the past, get back to Gensokyo when you are through with jail time, *ZE*"
"She isn't going to be imprisoned you moron" Reimu rolled her eyes and sighed.
"I know Reimu, details, who needs 'em." Marisa waved her off with a silly grin, "Anyhow, take care Flan, I hope you get a fun life in hell."
"Thank you Marisa, I'll miss you too*ZE*" Flandre hugged Marisa tightly, well, as tightly as her tired body could manage, which was probably for Marisa's health's benefit.
Marisa then turned towards the Yama with a cheerful smile, "Oh and Shiki, Tell miss evil servant and miss master slacker, that I said *ZE*."
"I shall remember." Shiki smiled a little, "Yukari! If you please."
Yukari was drowsing off, almost snoring, "Oh... yes-yes." she half-reacted and opened a portal to hell.
With people waving them farewell, Shiki and Flandre entered the gate into hell.
SCARLET MANSION: next morning
Remilia found a bunch of people outside her half broken door.
"Miss Scarlet, You are invited to join our victory feast at my shrine this afternoon," Kanako politely extended her hand.
Remilia was quite confused, "Victory feast? What happened to my sister?!"
"We removed her destructive power, saving Gensokyo is quite a hassle." Marisa faked being more tired than she actually was for theatrical purposes.
"She is in the hands of the Yamaxanadu, Shiki Eiki now, she is working for the minister of what's right and what's wrong." Patchouli explained in further detail.
Remilia was mind boggled and rubbed her temples, "I... need a better explanation than that."
"Come to our shrine for the feast then, we will elaborate everything in spectacular, yet precise details." Sanae promised in with wide smile.
Remilia eyes widened a little, "Sure! I will attend."
That afternoon, storytelling was the grand thing, as everyone who was in battle or had felt the effects of the incident, was invited to the godly feast like no other, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, as each member took the stage and told their side of the story to much applause, the group's writers decided to gather all the versions to write what would later become known as the legend of the Prodigious Vampire of Destruction.
