Okay! I know LATE LATE LATE! I'm sorry! It's just…things…. lots of things….

Without further ado….

I do not own Young Justice, Jason Todd, or anything DC comics related except my comic books.

Nightwing was trying to rub the headache out of existence. His hands tangled in his hair as he palmed the sides of his head.

"What is going on?" Robin asked, irritation clear in his voice. The small teenager slipped past the fearsome Batgirl to get a good look at the screen. "Isn't that the guy the Red Hood worked for in civvies?"

Regaining composure he met the eyes of his younger self and answered, "Yes, but Jason just seems to always get into these situations. Talbot James was, I guess here, is an undercover agent from the League of Assassins."

"What?" The boy seemed shocked, how had he missed that.

Red Robin had been listening and said, "Wait, I know all past and present Shadows in Gotham and I have no idea who this is."

"Talbot wasn't that recent, Red, when you were doing research you probably didn't go back that far in the archives. He worked at that shop when Nightwing and I were still running around Gotham." Oracle added with eyes fixed solely on the computer screen and the vibrant flashes of information.

Nightwing explained to the two Robins, "When Ra's was still trying to convince Bats to be his successor, he had agents all over Gotham spying on us. It was perfect, the only auto shop in town with a good rep. There were bugs placed in all the cars. Didn't take too long for us to figure it out, but if Jason was last seen with Talbot that means the League has him."

Kid Flash could not handle his excitement anymore and rushed to Robin's side in a blur of red and yellow. Excitement painted his face and vibrated through his molecules. "Dude, we get to break into the League of Shadows!"

Batgirl turned the blacked out eyes of her full facemask towards the dually colored hero. The glare pushed through the black material and a dead pained voice let loose a simple "You are not coming."

"This is Alpha. We are ready to go."

Nightwing and Batman entered a small rectangular room. Pushed to the farthest wall, Jason laid thrashing like a wild animal on the white sheets with limbs chained to bedposts. A single clear tube connected his wrist to the medical equipment by the side of the bed. The liquid being pumped into the white striped man looked a sickening green.

An unsteady beep told of the rocketing heart rate Jason was experiencing. Batman easily ripped open the machine and rigged the machine into a continuous loop. Trailing his hand over the machine he carefully handled the sickeningly green liquid in the IV bag.

Batman fingered the tubing. "Lazarus pit water," he observed.

"They are trying to heal the sanity out of him." Nightwing bit out. Standing five feet from the bed, he surveyed Jason's thrashing with misery. His little brother, his little blue jay had already been through this madness. Last time, though, it wasn't to heal a few injuries and a concussion, but an unexplained bout of revival that had left him hollow. Oh god.

Batman silently slashed the tubing with a batarang. Green dripped to the floor, creating a slowly expanding puddle. The cut had broken the hold the scene had on Dick.

Nightwing started, one step forward, "Jason…."

At the sound of his name, Jason snapped his eyes in a flurry of panic and fury. "Get out of my head! Leave! I don't need you! I don't need any of you!" His eyes did not move from the ceiling, but thrashed his arms like an unseen lay upon him attacking.

"Jason, please," He tried again, inching toward the bed. What was happening?

"Stay away! Stay away!" Tears formed in Jason's eyes in denial of the presence of older hero.

Nightwing's voice started to lose the calming affect he was hoping would bring Jason from his raging state. "Jason, we need to leave."

"Stop. Stop acting like you are real!" He strengthened his struggles against his constraints. The bed rocked and squeaked against the white tile in loud protest. They are not real. They will never be real. They will never come!

Nightwing was now close enough to stare into his eyes. There was no trace of the crystal blue, just a pit of black iris.

He put his hands on to Jason's chest and pushed him down. Jumping, he positioned his body over Jason's and was sitting on his stomach the next second.

"Jason, you need to wake up. It's time to go home. "

"Stop! Just stop messing with my head! He never cared!"

"Jason, I care. You're my little brother."

The bound male stilled. "Really?" Black eyes challenged Nightwing's masked white.

"Yes."

Jason's muscles rippled beneath him. "I mean you didn't even come to my funeral." He would never again believe such idiotic illusions.

Shock ran through Nightwing, how had he known that?

"Try again, motherfucker!" The thrashing restarted and Nightwing was done with nice and easy.

His face hardened. He locked his knees around his brother's stomach, pulled his hand back and swung his palm forward.

Crack!

The contact of palm and cheek stung Jason's face red. His fully diluted pupils shrunk to normal size. His breathing settled from its irregular pace beneath Nightwing.

Jason righted his face to look up. His blue eyes went wide.

"What. The. Fuck?" Jason ground out.

"Jason! You're back to normal. I was so worried!"

"Get the FUCK off of me. I am not one of your criminals. Flashing your thighs at me only makes me want to hurl!"

Nightwing released a deep breath, "Oh, good, you're fine."

.

.

.

.

.

"Beta Squad is on the move."

"Hearing you loud and clear. Be careful, Red Robin."

"Clear," Red Robin answered. Kid Flash flanked his left and Aqualad his right as he raced down the cleared halls in absolute silence.

Go time.

Between Batman and Nightwing, Jason was released from his chains quickly. He sat up and glared at the duo.

A Kevlar suit was thrown at him. "Get changed," the Batman commanded simply.

"Well, I'm always up for a chance to strip for the pretty, but I don't swing that way." Jason snipped even as he pulled the hospital gown off.

For a second he examined his scarless skin. Fuckin' pit water, messing with his damn mind. Shit, he felt like Dean Winchester sometimes.

Nightwing passed him a black utility belt. Jason gave him a questioning stare and Grayson merely nodded back before Jason clipped it around his waist.

"Miss Martian, hook the Red Hood up." Batman commanded.

A painful flash of a headache burnt through Jason's mind. "Ow, a fucking warning next time!"

His attention though diverted with a glance, "Hey, are those my guns?"

.

.

.

.

.

"You are not seriously giving this guy guns?" Kid Flash mentally quipped.

"Aw, hell, like West doesn't make enough noise I have to hear his voice inside my damn head."

Mental snickers filled the web of minds.

"Excuse me? How the hell do you know my name anyways?!"

Batman snipped, "Kid Flash, you are on a mission. Now, is not the time to waste on disruptive comments."

"Whatever."

The connection went silent.

.

.

.

.

.

"Gamma squad?"

"Already moving."

"Good, Batgirl, be careful."

"Of course," Cass replied shortly as she crept along the walls with Artemis and Robin.

.

.

.

.

.

Nightwing held the guns out carefully towards Jason. Batman glared down at the offending objects, but offered no words of complaint.

"Really?" Jason asked incredulously. No way, he couldn't really be….

Dick smirked, "Aim low."

It wasn't a question. There was no hesitation in his tone from wavering trust. Jason met his eyes with a hardened gaze and pulled the guns from his grip.

"What's the plan?"

.

.

.

.

.

"Superboy?"

"I'm ready, M'gann. You okay?"

"I don't like just sitting up here for deployment."

"You were the best choice."

"I know. Let's do this. Alpha Squad, are you ready?"

Three varying tones of 'yes' resounded through the link.

"On my count then. Superboy and Alpha Squad go in…. One…. Two…. Three!"

From her position above the compound, M'gann heard the ostentatious sound that followed the collapse of the front entrance Connor knocked down.

.

.

.

.

.

Jason followed the flowing black cape of this dimension's Batman, Nightwing just a step ahead. Why was Dick doing this? Why give him equipment? Why trust him with his back?

Suddenly there was no more time for thoughtful pondering. The League of Assassins finally learned of their uninvited guests.

.

.

.

.

.

A simple beep came as Red Robin popped the lock on the thick steel door. Aqualad finished the rope restraints on the unconscious men that had been standing guard. Kid Flash lapped back around affirming that the League still did not know the extent of their security problem.

Tim slowly pushed open the door.

"AHHHHHHHHH!"

And quickly closed it again. A heavy thud could be heard through the thick door along with a groan of pain.

He rapidly reopened the door to find a small Jason Todd rolling on the floor in pain. Oh god, they definitely did not have time for this.

"Jason…" Red Robin started.

"Who the hell are you?!"

"My name is Red Robin. I'm here to rescue you. I'm a hero."

"Yeah, then how come I've never heard of you?" The young boy glared.

"Because I'm from another dimension, but I know the other version of you. You probably know my friends here though. Aqualad and Kid Flash?" He gestured to the other costumed heroes behind him.

Jason's eyes went wide, "You're Aqualad and Kid Flash!"

"Yes and if you want to live you will leave with them now."

That voice was not of any member of Beta Squad.

.

.

.

.

.

"It is time to leave." Cass said in a small voice to the scary child.

The child just shook her head and glared at Batgirl from her fighting position.

"You can trust me."

The child once again shook her head.

Cass pulled the lining of her mask up from her neck and yanked the material from her head.

"You can trust me."

The child's expression did not change, but she nodded her head in assent.

"Good. Robin and Artemis will take you from here. Follow their commands."

The small Cassandra Cain nodded and looked at the two others in the room.

"Go," Cass commanded shortly as she returned her mask to her head.

The two teens nodded. Robin offered his hand to the child, which she looked at oddly. "It's okay. Take my hand."

Mutely affirming, Cassandra wrapped her hand around Dick's.

Cass shooed the group away, leaving her alone for the next part of the mission.

So that ends the Final Chapter Part 1…. I really need to think of better titles…

But I would like to say that it has been over a year since I started this story and I actually got my hundredth review on the anniversary! I can't believe this story, that was a one shot and then wasn't supposed to go past 5 chapters, has garnered so much attention.

Thank you, everyone who has read this story through thick, thin, and my still in the works writing style, which I'm pretty sure changed every chapter!

I have my next project all planned out after this if anyone is interested in Katekyo Hitman Reborn look out for it.
