Roxas dragged his feet against the ground. He frowned as he neared his old spot on the Clock Tower of Twilight Town, holding his favorite sea-salt ice-cream. "What am I doing here?" he asked himself. "It won't bring them back." He took his seat, letting his feet dangle over the edge. For a moment he had an idea to jump off. It wouldn't help, though. Nobodies..just stop existing once they die. Killing himself wouldn't let him see them again.

He felt a salty tear slip down his cheek. Roxas stared at his ice-cream, not feeling much like eating. "Where are you guys? Don't you want ice-cream?" He frowned, knowing perfectly well where they were. He turned to the empty space next to him, imagining Xion, laughing and smiling. He turned the other way, where Axel should have been. Teasing him and bringing up random things to talk about. Roxas missed the times they spent together, right here on the Clock Tower. Every day after missions, they'd gather here and watch the sun set.

"It's too quiet without you guys." he brought the ice-cream to his lips. He took a bite, but it didn't taste the same. He eyed it curiously. All of the sweetness seemed to have melted away, leaving the salt behind. Like his life right now. Axel and Xion made it sweet, now they're gone, and Roxas is left with salty tears. He felt another tear escape his eyes. Another...and another.

"Don't cry, Roxas..."

"Come, on! We're right here, man."

"He can't see us, Axel." Xion reminded her friend, taking a seat beside Roxas. Axel followed suit, rubbing his head.

"Didn't that Sora kid say something? About his friends being his power?" He smiled.

"That's right! Roxas, our hearts are connected. Through Sora."

Axel's smile faded away as he looked off into the setting sun.

"Axel, too. We're all connected. Don't ever forget-"

"Hey, you'll see us again someday. And we can hang out here, just like old times!" The elder smiled as he turned to his friends.

Roxas closed his eyes. He saw Axel sharing a joke, and Xion smiling. The thought, this time, didn't make him feel alone. It felt..warm. The young boy smiled and looked out into the sky. The sun was only just peaking over the horizon, and He remembered Axel's "Why The Sun Sets Red."

"You see, light is made up of many colors, and red is the one that travels the farthest."

"Like I asked!"

"I'll never forget you guys." Roxas smiled as the sun slipped away, leaving a quiet, peaceful darkness.
