Chapter 1: Lost
A pink and blue seashell lays on the sand. The ocean, soft and strong, washes over it. In the blink of an eye, it's gone. Forgotten in an instant.
A teardrop falls, splashing when it reaches the ground. This tear seems insignificant, but the weight it holds in unmeasurable. Shards of light blaze through it, soon to be gone. Disappearing forever.
A boy stares at a girl in his arms. Crystals form on her legs and shoot up her body. They shatter and burst into the air. The boy watches, silent, as they fly into the sky. He turns to see a seashell in her place: pink and blue. He picks it up and he sees her face, smiling at him one last time in his memories. He speaks her name, the only word he says, as a tear rolls down his cheek. It leaves his face, falling to the ground to disappear. Just like she had.
He had lost her.
