I honestly wasn't sure that there'd be any more Mumma Portgas but then I remembered someone asking me how Keira would have responded after the war, and well, this just wouldn't leave me alone. I hope you enjoy!

Keira dropped onto the grass of the bay with a thud. They'd made it to a Whitebeard protected island, but Keira couldn't for the life of her say which one. She hadn't been paying attention beyond listening to the instruction of her navigator, Cynthia, and the directions of the Whitebeard Pirate's First Commander, Marco, in assisting the wind currents to blow in their favour. Flopping to the ground, Keira let her eyes fall shut for a long moment. She was aware enough of her boys location -Luffy in the medical room, and Ace fussing over his Pops- that she wasn't worried about their imminent safety.

"I want to sleep for a week."

Despite her statement, Keira's eyes cracked open as her stomach rumbled loudly.

"Food first though."

A crash and a loud bang were followed by a heavy pounding sound. Luffy quickly barrelling out of the med bay where Vera had been trying to patch up the masses of damage he'd sustained.

"Food?" Luffy questioned quickly, bouncing in anticipation.

A frowning Vera emerged shortly after, strands of her usually neatly braided brown hair falling across her face, the locks damp with the sweat of stress that came with dealing with a patient in the condition that Luffy was, on top of him being her Captain's son.

She never wanted to do it again.

One D. was borderline one too many as it was.

Fortunately, with Portgas D. Keira's appetite, the crew contained five chefs, all of which had set to work the moment they'd escaped Marineford. And when food was on, D.'s didn't tend to stray too far.

Having consumed her fill, Keira's focus turned back to her two boys, both slumped against each other and nodding off after what must have been days without proper sleep. With a clear(ish) head, the last few hours were beginning to catch up with her. Her boys, her darling, adorable, baby boys, had been in Impel Down, Marineford, and a war. Whilst part of Keira said to let them sleep, to let them be, Keira had never been described as a patient person.

Sensing the shift in her Captain, and friend of decades, Ester discreetly tugged Marco away from Ace and Luffy, where he'd been sitting a careful vigil. What was to come, was simply something he couldn't protect them from.

Missing Ester's action entirely, Keira stalked toward her boys, stopping short to loom over them. She paused as she took in their peaceful resting faces, her resolve wavering for a second before cementing. Faster than Marco could blink, Keira's hands snapped out to grab the boys by the tips of their ears as she startled them to their feet.

"Ow! Mum!"

"Ouch! Aunt Keira!"

The cries came simultaneously, causing a smirk to flicker along Keira's lips. The motion left almost as quickly as it came as her hands fell from her boy's ears to rest on her hips.

"Well?" Keira frowned up at them, "What do you two have to say for yourselves?"

Not giving either of them a chance to reply, Keira steamrolled over their attempts to explain themselves as she paced in front of them.

"Of all the near heart attacks you've given me, this was by far the worst! Did I kick up a fuss when you said you wanted to be pirates? No! Have I been perfect? No! Should I have spent more time keeping check of what you were doing? Probably!"

Keira paused as her chest heaved to withdraw the necessary amount of air. Ace and Luffy remaining uncharacteristically quite in the face of their aunt/mother's ranting, both knowing that there was no getting out of it until Keira herself had decided she was finished.

"Do you two have any idea what you've put me through? My hair has got grey in it. Grey! From all the stress you two have put me through!" Keira tugged her loose blonde hair to emphasise her point. (Age certainly had nothing to do with the few strands of grey that had woven their way into Keira's hair.)

The Whitebeard Pirate's watched the dressing down with varying emotions, but from amusement to fear, they all had one thing in common… no one was willing to step in to save their brother and his brother. Fight a war for him? Sure. Intercept an angry woman? Not a chance. For this, the Commander was on his own.

Realising that his aunt was winding down, Ace jumped in before he could convince himself to remain silent.

"Love you Aunt Keira."

Quick to follow Ace's lead, Luffy echoed the sentiment, "Love you Mum."

"Well I love you too!" Keira practically shouted at them, turning away to try and mask the fear that was flooding her system from nearly losing her two most precious of people.

Not needing to look at each other, Ace and Luffy moved as one to wrap Keira in a fierce hug. Ace ducked his head into the crook of her neck, a constant stream of 'I'm sorry' falling from his lips. Meanwhile, Luffy's arms wound around his mother and Ace, his cheek pressed against the soft cotton of her white button-up-shirt. Unlike Ace, Luffy couldn't bring himself to say sorry. He didn't regret anything of what he'd done to free Ace, and he'd do it all again if it meant Ace would stay free. He didn't like upsetting his mother though.

"Love you."

Keira had thousands of things she still wanted to say, but with her boys finally safe, all she did was pull them closer.

She could always shout at them some more tomorrow.
