Disclaimer: I do not own Danny Phantom
AN: This dribble is a continuation of "Yam Kipper Surprise". Teshuvah is often translated as 'repentance' but it literally means 'return'. The Days of Teshuvah are the ten days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur when one is supposed to be on one's best behavior and to seek forgiveness. Accordingly, I beg my readers to forgive me for not writing anything for the past year and I will make a greater effort to return to writing
.
Days of Teshuvah
Vlad didn't know what to make of Jack Fenton's unexpected visit. At first he assumed that Daniel must be in trouble because he could not imagine any other reason that would bring the man to his doorstep.
"Has Danny suffered a relapse?" Vlad asked.
Jack looked puzzled. "What? Oh no, nothing like that. He just had a treatment this morning which wears him out but, he's fine. Sam had this holiday and that got me thinking about Yam-Smelt Surprise and leaving you in space..."
Jack babbled on. Of all the unintelligible conversations he had endured with the fool, this was perhaps the most baffling.
"I guess we both have regrets." Jack concluded rubbing his neck sheepishly.
Vlad brandished his wrist displaying the court-mandated ectoranium bracelet. "I've been stripped of my powers, my companies, most of my wealth, and am persona non grata in two dimensions. What do you think?" Mr. Masters asked incredulously.
Jack shook his head, "Repentance doesn't mean being sorry about being punished; it means making different choices because it is the right thing to do."
Vlad thought about the heady triumphs his powers had almost made possible.
If he could do it all over again, would he?
