Alice's POV

This is the day. The day I officially meet William for the first time. With Embry next door I can't see William after he goes to his room and in a way I like that. It will be like any other normal couple. Our future is a bit of a mystery to me. All I can see is long in the future when he is a vampire and we are mates.

"Now Abby I know this is all new for you and I know you are going to be going to parties. In the states it's not like back home and it's illegal to drink before your 21. Just be smart and always pour your own drink." Bella explains to Abby. I can see Abby wanting to roll her eyes but because she loves her mom so much she won't.

Jasper comes up behind Bella and rests his hand on the small of her back. "And you are in the city. I know you have travelled with us all over Europe but this isn't our island. Don't walk alone at night, don't get rusty on the self defense I taught you, and keep the mace I gave you handy." Being a worried father suits Jasper.

"Mom, Dad, I will be fine. My roommate is a vampire and my future mate and imprint is a bad ass werewolf. Your best friends, Peter and Charlotte, are also signed up for classes and I have a feeling have my major. If I call mom and say I am in trouble I have no doubt she can bubble me up and let's NOT forget that my dad is the scariest vampire out there. I will be fine." Abby reassures her parents. I love her adorable Irish accent. It suits her. Bella turns into Jasper and I know she would be crying if she could.

"I just can't believe my little girl is already going to college. The years just went so fast. " Bella says more to herself than anyone else. Jasper kisses the top of her head and I know he is sending her strength and acceptance. "Now honey there is a freshmen get together in the union tonight so your mom and I will be out of your hair. We are staying in the city tonight so if you need anything you call us. And you know you can call us anytime and we will be here in the flash."

Abby and her parents hug each other good bye and I can tell that Bella does not want to leave but will because she needs too. This is actually my 4th time going to college. Usually I skip out on it but I knew I would meet William this way and Bella and Jasper would feel better with me here with Abby. "Abby I just wanted to let you know if you want a roommate swap I understand. I know this isn't the traditional college experience." I don't want her to think I'll be offended. This is my first time in the dorms as well.

"Aunt Alice, I mean Alice, this will be great. We will have fun and it's not like I can't still meet other students my own age." I feel a bit better knowing she is alright with this. We both try to make busy by organizing our sides of the rooms and even head down to the bookstore to grab our books for classes that start soon.

We are coming off the elevator with our arms laden down with books when his scent hits me. I may have never properly introduced myself but I have been watching over him for 14 years. It's William and I can actually say hi. Embry is in the hall laughing with William's dad about something and when he sees Abby breaks into an even bigger smile and runs down the hall to take the books from her arms and like a gentleman takes mine too. "I got yours too honey." Abby tells him sheepishly. He kisses her forehead and brings her under his arm.

"I want you guys to meet my roommate and his parents." Embry tells me with a wink. I follow behind him and if my heart still could beat I know it would be fluttering right now. I actually feel dizzy. "Will, I want you to meet my girlfriend Abigail and her roomie Alice." Embry calls into the room. I feel him getting closer and he extends his hand to shake Abby's.

"Nice to meet you, my name is Will. Embry said that he got super lucky and found out his girl friend was in the dorm next door." He sounds honestly pleased to meet her. Abby laughs. "Yes, we were both pretty pleased with that news. I was dreading traipsing across campus all winter long."

Will's father looks over at Abby. "Oh, you're Irish?" He asks interested in her accent. Abby blushes and pushes her curls behind her ears. "Yes, I just moved to the states yesterday. I have never been before but this is where Embry was originally from so we decided to come here for school. My parents moved here too."

Before I can get lost in the fray Embry pulls me forward . "This is Abby's roomie Alice. She just came to town yesterday as well." The whole world seems to stop for a moment has I take him in not as a voyeur for the first time. His slightly too long sandy brown hair fell over his eyes just for a second has he pushes it back and exposes his beautiful hazel eyes. I never noticed how tall he was before and I take in all 6 ft 2 inches of him. He practically dwarfs me. Poor guy is probably used to being the tallest in his class to bad his roomie is a wolf. "It's great to meet you Alice." He extends his hand. I don't know what I am doing but I am extending my hand as well and we shake. I feel like there are fireworks going off in my body as we meet. If he notices I am bit cold he doesn't say anything.

Embry nudges me gently trying to remind me to speak. "Yes it's really great to meet you too. With our roommates dating we will probably get to know each other very well." Oh god did that sound like a terrible pick up line? His cheeks redden and I notice his dad give him a smirk. "That will be nice I just moved up here too and don't know anyone either."

"Well why don't we give Will some time to move in." Embry suggests. "We will be next door if you need us." He calls into the room as he all but drags me next door. Abby shuts the door behind us and grabs on to my hands and does a little squeal. "So... was he everything you imagined? He is quite handsome!"

Embry growls in the background jokingly and she waves him off. I break into a mindless smile and do a little squeal myself. "He is perfect. I just.. I can't..."I can't even get it out. Abby pulls me into a hug. "I know Alice and everything is going to work out fine." Abby is so much like her mom when she was a human. Bella was never afraid of us and always quick to show us affection. I forget how much I have missed contact like this over the years as I have been camped out watching over my mate. The fear of Edward getting to him has consumed me these past few years. I know he will be safe here. I am next door and Embry is actually in his room.

The next few months are amazing and torture all at once. He is next to me. I can say hi to him and see him everyday not from a far but face to face. But he is a bit shy around me. With Emmett and Abby he is sure of himself and jokes around but with me he seems to stand back a bit. Emmett claims it's because he likes me but I'm worried it's because he doesn't.

We spend so much time together and I am learning a lot about him. Peter and Charlotte have made it into our group and they have bonded with Will over being from Texas. They remained in the back ground like me while he was growing up and he is meeting them for the first time. He sometimes jokes with me that we are surrounded by couples. Last week we all even decided to go on a skiing trip next month. Peter and Charlotte have rented a cabin, that of course has three master suites in it. We probably won't share a room but I will spend an entire weekend with him. Luckily I will be able to run off and grab dinner at one point too. Embry said he will help cover up that we don't eat by eating for four.

Will is just more amazing than I even could have imagined. He is funny even if he rarely addresses his jokes at me. He is smart, like really smart. He is going to school here with the dream of being a neurosurgeon. Most importantly after seeing what happened to my best friend and sister, he is kind. I see him interact with people and he is friendly and kind to everyone. I've seen him go up to a kid in the cafeteria who seems lonely and just sit down and start eating with him. He volunteers with the city mentor program and at the hospital. He's amazing, I just hope I can measure up in his eyes.

It's raining again and I just finished my last class for the week. Abby should be done by the time I get back and I want to see if she wants to spend the weekend at her parents condo in the city. I get a bit overwhelmed with the dorms. The noise, the smell, the blood. It's hard but I have great control and make sure to hunt two times a week. I know Abby and Embry like to go because their room has a king sized bed.

When I get back to the room Abby isn't here yet. I throw my bag down on my bed and throw myself on it. I finally open my eyes and look over at Abby's side and see her books thrown on the bed. She must be at Embry's room. I listen carefully and can hear them both next door. Oh and it sounds like they are having good time. I know they haven't had sex yet. Abby has been asking me about it, too nervous to talk to her mom. I know she wants to talk to Renesmee but with her pregnancy she doesn't want to bother her. She should be popping any day now we think. Jasper has been working on building a cabin on Renesmee's property for him and Bella once the babies are born. Right now they stay in the main house but they know the couple will want their privacy soon. Esme and Carlisle have moved back into their old home in Forks along with Rosalie and Emmett. Bella doesn't want to go back there and I don't blame her. They have set up my old room with Jasper for me when I want to come. I haven't been back yet, I haven't wanted to leave Will.

There isn't much else to do so I decide to get a head start on my homework for the weekend. Not going to lie, it kinda sucks being a 200 year old vampire and having to do homework. This time around I decided to major in business. It's something completely different than anything I have ever done before. Usually I major in fashion or interior design. Carlisle was taken back but he's impressed. Up until now I usually gave all my tips to Jasper and Carlisle but I am ready to maybe start doing my own investments. I've changed a lot from the young vampire he meet and adopted into his family so easily. I look back now and laugh at how vapid I was at time. I still appreciate nice clothes but after everything with Edward and Will it doesn't seem as important. In fact my entire wardrobe is regular mall bought right now. Rosalie may have had to explain to me I will stick out like a sore thumb if I wear clothes straight off the Milan runway. I guess I finally grew up. It's hard to grow up when I am forever in an 18 year olds body but I am working on it.

I smell Will coming down the hall and breath in deeply. It helps calm me down to have him near. Before I can stop him he opens the door and starts to stammer. "Um sorry guys... I'll just head out..." He slams the door shut and I can't help but chuckle. I am a bit surprised when I hear a knock on my own door. "Just a minute!" I call out.

I am frantic for a moment. I jump up and check myself in the mirror. I look alright but a bit pale. I quickly put on some blush and lip gloss and check one more time before racing to the door and opening it. "Oh hey Will how are you?"

He nods to his room and chuckles. "Currently sexiled, you?" He asks me with a laugh. I smile and move aside for him to come in. "Thought I would get a head start on homework for the weekend. Want to hang out here for a bit? We can watch a movie or something." I am so happy I am not human right now. I know I would be blushing and he would hear my heart beating in my chest.

"Sure that would be great. Maybe we can order in some pizza. You watch that movie about vampires clans fighting each other? I saw it on Netflix and kinda wanted to watch it but Embry started laughing and refused to." Oh Will, if only you knew. "Yeah that sounds great. Make yourself at home."

I take stock of the room and luckily it's fairly picked up. I motion for him to take a seat on my bed and I turn the tv and find the movie he was talking about. Sometimes we all watch vampire movies just to laugh at how wrong they have it. I go to a pizza website and hand him my lap top. "Pick what you want and I'll put an order in." Hopefully I can hide that I won't be eating without him worrying I am anorexic. He finds what he wants and I send in the order.

I am too nervous to take a seat next to him on my bed and pull my desk chair out. He looks at my every once a while and quickly looks away every time. About mid way through the movie there is a knock on our door and I jump up to the get the pizza. The smell is a bit strong but I don't cringe as I bring it back into the room.

"I didn't mean to kick you out of your bed. We can share it or I can move to the desk chair." I can hear his heart beating a bit faster. I shake my head and sit down next to him. We restart the movie and I try to make it look like I am eating. I think he buys it because he doesn't say anything.

A particularly silly part of the movie comes up where one of the vampires push his enemy into the sun and he burst into flames. The vampires own arm catches and fire but his girlfriend pulls him back at the last minute. I can't help but laughing. Will gives me a side glance. "Sorry it just seems kind of fake."

"Not a fan of vampire films I take it?" He asks with a chuckle. I shrug. "Not really, I just find them to be preposterous is all."

"That's what Embry says. You sure you didn't know him before you started here?" He laughs. I don't want him to think I am lying to him. It's so hard trying to keep this up with him. "We did actually know each other before we came here. Just not well."

"Really?" Will asks surprised. I look at my feet for a moment then back up at him. "My family lived near his reservation a long time ago. We meet a few times and then I moved away. We weren't close then but we are good friends now. Abby doesn't like vampire films much either. She's not a big horror fan." I guess how can she be with how she was raised. I've heard about her father but never talked to her about it. She is even going to school to become a therapist for abused children. Much like Bella she healed but has never truly forgotten and wants to help others who were in her place.

"How did Abby and Embry meet? It's obvious they are crazy in love but with her being Irish I was just curious." Will leans against my wall and I turn and sit crossed leg and look at him.

"He did an exchange program in Ireland and met Abby while he was there. It was a crazy love at first sight type of thing. He didn't come back when the program ended and her parents even let him move with them so they could stay together. They could see how much they cared for each other and knew it would devastate their daughter to be separated from him." It's very close to the truth. I hope he doesn't hate me when he finally knows everything.

Will's heart starts to beat faster. "Do you believe in love at first sight?" He asks me nervously. I can't seem to keep eye contact with him and look away for a moment then nervously look back up at him. "A few years ago no I really didn't. But lately yes I do. What about you?" I barely manage to whisper out.

"Yeah, same. Until recently I didn't believe in it either." We both stop and our eyes meet for a moment and we stare at each other. He reaches out and brushes his fingers over my hand. I turn my hand over and he links his fingers with mine. I am unable to move for a moment. I don't know what to do. I have changed so much and am unsure of myself. I pull him towards me gently and he crawls over and caresses the side of my face and pulls my face to his. His lips graze over mine softly and I feel my whole body come alive. I want to throw him back on the bed and have my way with him but I calm myself. He pulls back slowly and smiles at me, brushing the hair that fell into my eyes behind my ear. "I've wanted to do that since I meet you." I have felt the same way. I've wanted to mark him every moment since I have first meet him.

I lean forward and kiss him again. This time it's a little less innocent. Our lips open slightly and I can feel his tongue on my lips. We kiss for what might have been hours or minutes and he pulls back to take a breath. "Would you go out with me on a real date?" He asks me.

"Yes, I would love too." I answer quickly and maybe a little too excited but he doesn't seem to care. "Great what about tomorrow night?" I shake my head yes and he smiles at me. I can feel my body melting under his gaze.

"Let's change the movie and relax a bit then." He suggests. I agree and we find a mindless comedy and put it on. I go to move back to my spot but he stops me and pulls me to him and wraps me up in his arms. "You are freezing. Do you want me to turn the heat up and get you blanket?"

I turn and nuzzle into his chest for a moment and shake my head no. "It's a genetic thing. I always run cold. I promise I am fine." He doesn't listen to me and pulls a throw off my bed and wraps it around me pulling me closer and rubbing his hands up and down my arms.

Halfway through the movie he drifts off to sleep and I just bask in all that is him. The door to my room opens and Abby comes in with bed tasseled hair. Her eyes grow large and she breaks into a huge smile. She gives me a huge thumbs up and quickly shuts the door behind her and goes back to Embry.

For the first time in years I can truly relax. Will is with me and is safe. He seems to even like me. In fact he kind of made it sound like he might love me. I don't know what the immediate future has in store for me but the here and now is pretty incredible.
