The next day Ethan woke up feeling like something that should be in the toilet. He didn't want to get out of bed to pee and shower or brush his teeth.

He's normally pumped on Friday; it's his favorite day of the week. It's the last day of school, there are tests so it's when studying pays off, it's the start of the weekend and that usually means sci-fi marathons.

However, right now he'd rather just stay in bed and feel bad, but he knows he has to go school, so with a groan he gets up and gets ready for school.

The walk to school with Benny felt like it took forever and a day, and school itself was like another forever. It was just a really crappy day to be Ethan Morgan, and anyone who knew him could tell.

The whole eight hours of school he hadn't said a single word, no Hi or Hello just weak waves or nods of acknowledgement. By the end of school all his friends, even Erica, were worried about him.

The whole gang had agreed on walking with him on the way home so they could try to talk to him. So they were currently all following the silent and slow walking seer.

'Dude, what's up? You haven't said anything to anyone all day.' Benny said.

Ethan didn't reply.

'Ethan, we're worried about you.' Sarah added.

'Yeah man, open up that trap, tell us what's eating you.' Rory said.

'Your silence annoys me, so say something.' Erica said.

Ethan heard them and he wanted to say that he was fine, that it was a bad day and that they didn't have to worry, but he didn't feel like talking to them. So again he didn't respond, he just kept looking at his feet as he walked.

Ethan hadn't even noticed that his friends had stopped talking completely; he didn't notice that he had passed his house twenty minutes ago; he just kept walking until he bumped into someone.

'Oh God I'm so sorry.' Ethan apologized before he looked up and saw Jesse.

'Hey, um what are you doing here?' Ethan asked as he put his hands in his pockets, remembering that he wasn't supposed to touch Jesse.

'What are you doing here?' Jesse asked back.

'I asked you first.' Ethan said.

'I don't know, I went outside to get some fresh air and just started walking. Why are you here?' Jesse replied.

'I don't know, I was supposed to be walking home. I have no clue how I got here, where ever here is.' Ethan said as he looked around and realized he had no idea where he was.

'You didn't notice that you walked three blocks?' Jesse asked with his eyebrows raised.

'Basically yeah, I don't even know how to get back to my house from here.' Ethan groaned as he looked around.

'I could, you know, walk you home.' Jesse offered, not looking at the seer in front of him.

'What about staying away from each other?' Ethan reminded.

'Oh right, because we're doing so great now? Come on, before those parents of yours get worried.' Jesse dismissed as he started walking, knowing Ethan would follow.

'You know it's funny, last time you showed up you were literally trying to kill me. Now we're literally fighting our sexual urges for each other.' Ethan said.

'I know, have you noticed that I haven't tried to kill, or turn anyone since I've been back?' Jesse asked.

'I have, I have noticed that. The whole not evil thing works for you, you should stick to it.' Ethan said.

'Not a chance, the second we break this spell I'm probably gonna skin you alive.' Jesse replied.

At that comment Ethan got quiet as he suddenly realized the truth in that sentence. For a while Ethan had forgotten all the terrible things Jesse had done in the past. Biting Sarah, making someone turn Erica into a vampire and then making her bite Rory. Not to mention his plot to take over town, or the fact that he had actually bit him.

Who is to say that once this spell breaks he won't go back to doing stuff like that? Maybe the spell shouldn't be broken; maybe this was for the best. This way Jesse isn't a bad guy, and even though Ethan knows it's because of the spell, he doesn't hate being around Jesse.

Ethan took a deep breath before he took his hands out of his pocket and reached for Jesse's hand.

'What the hell do you think you're doing?' Jesse asked as he intertwined their fingers.

'I don't know.' Ethan lied as they continued walking.

'Funny thing about vampire hearing, you can hear when someone's heart beat jumps…when they lie.' Jesse said.

'Fine you caught me, I just thought that if you were in love with me then you wouldn't be evil anymore.' Ethan confessed

'So you tried to keep the spell from breaking, that's why you showed up.' Jesse accused as he took his hand away.

'No, I showed up by accident, but I held your hand to so the spell wouldn't break.' Ethan explained.

Jesse made a face of annoyance as he continued walking.

When I drop you off, stay home.' Jesse said coldly.

Ethan couldn't tell if it was the spell or genuine guilt that he felt when Jesse turned away from him, either way he didn't like it. He felt like he had been scolded by his mom, so like a scolded child he followed behind Jesse with his head hung in shame.

The walk to Ethan's house was quiet and very awkward, Ethan almost let out a sigh of relief when he saw his house.

'Well um thanks for helping me get back, and I'm sorry for trying to keep the spell from breaking.' Ethan apologized sincerely.

Jesse didn't say anything he just looked at Ethan for a few long seconds before he began to lean down to whisper into the boy's ear.

'Whatever.'

With that said Jesse once again sped off, leaving Ethan confused and slightly horny on his porch.
