Not even a Princess
Many little girls dreamed of being princesses. And the kind of princesses like Cinderella, Ariel, and Snow White. Not the real kind that were constantly responsible for her citizens and how things weren't always happily ever after. Being a real princess could honestly be a real pain.
But there was one thing that all princesses had in common: They all waited for their prince charmings.
Even Ahim did. She could recall even today sitting in her pink room, gazing out of the window and dreaming for a prince. Her parents had promised she'd marry the perfect man and they'd be happy forever.
And then the Zangyack came into the picture.
Her dreams were shattered beyond the fact her people and parents were gone. All of it went up in smoke and oblation in one night.
One lousy night.
Even today her heart still stung. She couldn't keep trying to make the dream come true. Of course, she wouldn't dream of not being a Pirate. But she had dreams like any young little princess….she had faith he'd come.
Somehow, she had a feeling that he was a lot closer than she'd thought at first. But then again, how could any of them be her prince charming?
Joe was more like a knight in shining armor for her, if anything else. Hakasae was too sweet and sensitive to be one…and then Gai just was too….Gai. Then Marvelous….oh, don't even get her started with him.
And it wasn't like she didn't love them all in her own ways for them. Don and Gai was like brothers, Joe was her big brother, and Marvelous….
She wasn't quite sure, to be honest.
But in the meantime, she'd just keep this dream to herself. Surely it wasn't Pirate like for her to dream of such silly things….so she'd keep her mind on the greatest treasure in the universe.
That was the dream they'd always dream of together.
But she'd still go on dreaming that private little dream of hers. Of course, if she truly one day set out to make it come true, she would have to work.
Flirt. Turn on the charm. Sneak out. Create her own forbidden love. Then live happily ever after.
But it would take work. The easy way had died with her parents and people.
And nothing came easy and dreams didn't come true just on their own.
Not even for a princess.
