Sam was at the trunk of the car, stowing some freshly packed rock salt rounds into the weapons duffel when he heard Dean call him from inside the cabin.

"Sam! Come here! Quick!"

Fearing demons, angels, Leviathans, Wendigos, werewolves, and skunks, Sam grabbed his gun and took the steps three at a time, bursting inside, ready to defend Dean to the death if necessary.

But Dean was only sitting at the table, with the laptop open in front of him. Sam could see no danger, unless the computer battery had died or the screen was frozen.

"Dean – what? What is it?"

"C'mere – look!"

Dean was smiling, which was kind of scary all by itself. Sam inched a little closer to him.

"What?"

"Look!" Dean said again and swung the laptop around. Sam gave it a look, hoping it wasn't a porn site. It just seemed to be some sort of news site.

"What?" Sam asked again. Dean practically beamed.

"Dr. McSexy! That showrunner I couldn't stand – she's been replaced! She's totally gone from the show after this season! Is that great or what?"

Sam let out a long breath and put away his gun.

"Yeah, that's great, Dean."

"Damn straight." Dean agreed, still smiling. "Tonight – we go out and celebrate!"

The End – and a happy one it is!

A/N: for those who haven't heard, Gamble is totally gone from the show as of Season 8. Jeremy Carver (who wrote episodes like Mystery Spot, Changing Channels and Point of No Return) is coming back to be co-showrunner with Robert Singer. I haven't been this happy since I don't know when. And I haven't looked forward to a next season for the show since the end of S5.
