Hello everyone, another update finally. I've been a bit down really, still nothing working out for me, but hey at least I have you guys. Your reviews always manage to cheer me up.

I have changed a few things, it's now Alpha/Beta/Omega themed fic, I made changes in the previous chapters, but do tell me if I missed any.

Chapter 4: Dinner

Inuyasha looked between his brother and Lord Noboru, he knew where this was going and he did want to be around either alpha. This dragon youkai was here for him, to take him as his mate, the one thing Inuyasha had dreaded since he had entered the start of heat. But he couldn't move, his body wouldn't let him move. He was stuck between two very strong alpha's in the room, pumping out their pheromones in an unsaid battle for dominance.

Sesshoumaru's golden eyes seemed to glow, "Shall we move to the dining room," it wasn't a question, more like a command, and he led the way to the grand dining area.

The hanyou followed in a daze, his body moving as if it was tethered to Sesshoumaru's as they went down a long hallway surrounded by bowing servants; but otherwise he was not aware of his surroundings. The next thing he realised was that he was sitting down on a plump cushion next to Sesshoumaru. The dragon youkai on the opposite end of the wide table, his metallic eyes firmly fixed on him. Inuyasha noticed then that there was another youkai next to dragon. An older demon, sleek white hair put into a bun and a long beard. He wasn't dressed as flashily as Lord Noboru, and since Inuyasha could hardly feel his presence he assumed that this other demon was a beta.

His friends were on the end of the table, confused, but ultimately clueless about what was going on. They knew however not to comment.

As soon as everyone was settled Sesshoumaru gave a nod at Jaken who took out a bell, and not a second after he rang it a stream of servants entered the dining area each holding several plates of food. Both raw and cooked meats were laid out by the appropriate sides of the table. No one touched the food however, until Sesshoumaru gave a nod in consent.

"Your visit is very sudden Lord Noboru, I had not even made an announcement about my brother's status."

"News travels fast Lord Sesshoumaru I of course had to make sure that the rumours are true, and I must say I am not disappointed by what I see," Inuyasha wanted to cringe away when the Alpha's eyes raked over him.

All he could do was look down at his food, and try and ignore everyone's stares. His friends were also looking in his direction, trying to figure out what was going on.

"Lord Noboru, please calm yourself," the older youkai spoke up.

"Yeah, yeah Doku I'm just having a little fun, I haven't seen such a cute omega in a long time."

'Cute?' Kami nobody had called him cute since he had been a small pup. He would rather put up with Kagome and her sit commands then go through this dinner. He tried to focus on his food, but ended up eating nothing as his brother and the other alpha demon continued to posture.

"So Lord Sesshoumaru what is it that you have planned?" Noboru asked.

"Planned?"

Inuyasha tensed, he squeezed his hand into a fist so that his nails dug into his flesh.

"About your little brother of course, I'm sure more Daiyoukai are bound to turn up wanting his 'attention'," he commented slyly.

"You presume too much Lord Noboru, what happens the hanyou is my decision," his brother replied firmly.

"I am not denying that Lord Sesshoumaru, as his familial alpha you have that right, but unless you plan to mate him..." he trailed off suggestively, looking between the mortified half demon and his impassive brother.

Sesshoumaru gave the dragon youkai a hard look, "You overstep you bounds Noboru, you are here at my discretion, "he said in an even tone.

The old beta suddenly sprang up and quickly moved to bow down next to Sesshoumaru, "I apologise Lord Sesshoumaru, my Lord is still very young and very impulsive," he said pathetically.

The Inu Daiyoukai saw this and ignored the beta's excuses, Noboru was anything but a pup, at over five centuries he was well past his maturity. Not as old as Sesshoumaru but the dragon should know better, he was a Daiyoukai after all and there was a certain way to act. One that this impudent whelp chose not to do.

Noboru's questions aggravated him, the youkai was too forward, making him think about things he didn't want to even consider.

"Mate?" a voice spoke up.

Sesshoumaru looked up and saw the ningen Kagome standing up and her brown eyes wide in disbelieve as she looked imploringly at Inuyasha. Sesshoumaru had forgotten that Inuysha's companion were even here, he had so much to worry with his brother's heat cycle, that their presence was hardly noticed. He watched as the ningen slowly moved up the table going to were a shocked Inuyasha was still rooted to his seat.

"Inuyasha," she called him in a much firmer voice. "What is he talking about, why would you 'mate' that youkai?" she asked shooting a glare at the newcomer.

Inuyasha didn't answer her however, he gave his brother a helpless look; but Sesshoumaru was too annoyed with this evening to bother doing anything. What harm could the little ningen do anyway?

"K-Kagome," Inuyasha finally stammered out.

"Inuyasha answer me, what the hell are they talking about?! You've been hiding things again!" she finished with a stomp of her feet.

Inuyasha found his at her words, he didn't want to go through this right now, not in front of his brother! "Kagome, now is not the time," he said through gritted teeth.

"No, you been avoiding us for a while, and I let you because 'mating season' stuff. But are you actually going to mate this demon?!" she emphasised, even pointing at the amused dragon youkai.

"Of course not!" he shouted back. "Nothing like that is gonna happen!"

"But-"

"Kagome, I already told you this has nothing to do with you!" he replied sternly. He was already stressed with everything going around and within him, he did not need adding to it.

Kagome closed her mouth her eyes going widening with anger and before he could say anything else, she whispered that awful word again.

"Sit."

The beads around his neck glowed, and suddenly the weight around his neck grew. His body already feeling weak from heat meant that he didn't react fast now, before he knew it his body was thrown onto the hard ground with a sickly crunch and then stopped moving. Sesshoumaru was up instantly and by his brother's side with a ferocious growl. He quickly turned the half demon brother around so that he could get a better look at him.

There was a cut on his forehead that was bleeding profusely, at the sight of and the smell of injured omega sent his alpha blood boiling. Golden eyes turned red, his canines elongated with blood lust and his gaze focused on the one who had caused injury to the omega. Kagome froze on her spot she felt a heavy oppressive coming off the Daiyoukai, something she hadn't felt before. She had never been truly afraid of Sesshoumaru before, because Inuyasha had always been there to protect her, but Inuyasha was still not moving. She tried to move, but her limbs felt like they were weighed down by lead.

There was a the sound of scrambling behind her, and she was flanked by Miroku and Sango. "Lord Sesshoumaru you have to remain calm," the priest said, trying to move in front of Kagome and shield her, but the snarl the demon let out made him stop.

The Daiyoukai was barely holding onto a few strands of restraints, and right now he wanted to do nothing more then put that ningen girl in her place. He gnashed his teeth together and stood up from his crouching position next to the hurt hanyou and with his claws poised stalking towards the human's. Sesshoumaru barely managed to take two steps before he felt something tugging on his robes.

He turned around with an angry growl only to see the one holding him back was Inuyasha.

"Bastard... don't hurt...them," Inuyasha said between laboured breaths.

The red flickered gold, he snarled again in anger that the hanyou was standing up for that despicable girl. "You will stand up for her?!" he snapped.

"She's pack...," he finished and promptly passed out.

Sesshoumaru paused, and then with a derisive snort he bent down to pick the injured omega up, then turned to the Noboru. "You may stay here Lord Noboru, although I will warn you now. Do not over step your bounds." Then he left the grand dining hall.

Inuyasha's chamber was further away than his own, this was a precautionary measure. In the coming days Inuyasha's heat would hit his peak, and he would release scents that would drive any alpha crazy with desire, and the hanyou would be over taken by his own needs so much he wouldn't be able to stop them. Not that it helped Sesshoumaru, he could always smell Inuyasha, the smell of spicy cinnamon, apples, and something clean underneath under all that.

He suppressed a growl, as he entered Inuyasha's room, quickly he dumped his burden on the bed, and turned to see Jaken behind him.

"Get the healer Kozu in here right now, I will be in my office have him report to me later," he replied, trying his best to gain distance between himself and his brother.

He strode into his office and slammed the door shut behind him in anger and frustration. Anger because he was robbed of the chance of punishing that ningen, and frustration because of how he had lost control of himself when he smelled Inuyasha's distress. He took some deep breaths and tried to calm himself down. Noboru's arrival hadn't helped, he had been stressed with being enticed by Inuyasha's then another alpha being here did not help, and that ningen having hurt his omega...

His omega?!

No. He grit his teeth together and smashed his fist against the wall, causing a sizable dent to appear there.

Inuyasha was his hanyou half-breed brother and nothing more. The only use he had now was as a bargaining tool. His gaze dropped to the pile of scrolls on his desk, all asking for his brother as their mate. Sesshoumaru had been apprehensive before, he had at least planned to let the hanyou let his first heat go through in peace, and only then plan for any sort of official mating, but the way things were going he may have to send an announcement out earlier. Before all that however he had to figure out how to remove the beads of subjugations from around the hanyou's neck.

Just the thought of them made his blood boil again.

He shook his head and then moved towards his desk and slumping down on his cushion with a grunt, and tried to think. The beads would only cause more problems in the future, if Inuyasha got injured like that again who knew what he would do next time. He didn't want to act like that every again, it was so... undignified. He growled uncharacteristically when he realised that he had acted like some sort protective mate in front of another Daiyoukai. Sesshoumaru's prefect mask, cracked just a little at the thoughts.

He had to get the hanyou away from his as soon as possible.

'Knock, Knock'

Sesshoumaru pulled himself together, and looked towards the door when he heard the knocking. "Enter," he said, and In stepped his healer Kozu.

Kozu was an bird demon, and although he was nearly the same age as his father, he didn't look much older than Sesshoumaru. Kozu had large almond green eyes and a thin nose, his demon marking swirled from around his large eyes and trailed down to disappear under his robes. He had long light green hair, some stands that fell around the side of his head and the rest tied in a top bun. His tall frame was draped in white robes, but there was a certain frailty to him like all bird demons; but anyone who knew Kozu knew that he was anything but 'frail'.

As a healer Kozu was a neutral beta, that knew all about youkai physiology, and just where to press to make it hurt. Sesshoumaru remembered that well.

"The hanyou is fine my lord, the cut on his forehead is already healing. He is just tired from his heat, and stress. So I gave him a sleeping tonic," Kozu reported.

"Hn," the Daiyoukai grunted out a reply, but Kozu didn't leave.

"My Lord," Kozu started, taking a step towards Sesshoumaru. "If I may ask, how did the omega come to receive such an injury?"

Sesshoumaru paused and looked up, "That necklace that he wears are subjugation beads, and were that miko gives that demeaning command he thrown onto the floor," he ended with a growl.

Kozu's eyes widened briefly before they settled down again, "This isn't good my lord for an omega to abused this way, especially during his heat preparation. It can have adverse effects on his mind."

The Inu youkai arched an eyebrow, "What do you mean Kozu?"

The healer huffed, and then gracefully sat down on the opposite side of the desk. "Lord Sesshoumaru did you forget about your teaching, I know it was some years ago, but you should know that an omega's first heat is the most critical one. Not only is their body changing, but also their mind, there is a chance that any negative experiences they have could imprint on them for life." Kozu explained.

"That is why an omega is usually left to experience their first heat on their own, so that they can keep some semblance of them self."

Sesshoumaru had a thoughtful look on his face as he considered Kozu's words. Of course he had been taught about omega's by his tutors, but that was when he was going through his own maturity, nearly 500 years ago, and since he was never really planning to mate himself he hadn't really thought back to those teachings.

"... hopefully since the young lord is still so early in his heat it may not affect him; but I must stress that those beads need to be removed as soon as possible, my lord," Kozu finished talking.

"The only one who can remove them is the miko, and I don't think she is willing."

Kozu frowned at that, "Then you must keep her away from him for the duration of his heat," the bird youkai stated sternly.

"That would be the hanyou's responsibility, she is part of his pack," he replied back stubbornly. He didn't want to be stuck between the Inuyasha and that ningen's drama. He was already starting to feel a headache form.

Kozu smirked. "You are his familial alpha, so while he is under your care it is your responsibility," he finished and then left the room, leaving Sesshoumaru to stew in anger.
