A Ferret As A Best Friend

A.N: Hi guys! Don't worry, I'm not giving up A New Generation. But I've just discovered that I really love Scorpius/Rose friendship stuff, so I thought 'What The Heck!' and wrote out this intro. Review, or direct message me if you have any comments, or whether I should continue this or not.

Anyway, enjoy!

Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter.

Rose

Being the daughter of two of the Golden Trio comes with advantages, and disadvantages.

Advantage: You know how hard it is to be normal, so you're a lot nicer to people.

Disadvantage: You have a lot to live up to.

Advantage: You're a shoe-in for Gryffindor.

Disadvantage: There's a lot of pressure on you to make Gryffindor.

Advantage: It's easier to keep the Slytherin/Gryffindor rivalry, since most Slytherins hate your guts.

Disadvantage: It's a complete and utter scandal when you become best mates with Scorpius Malfoy.

Advantage: Seeing your cousins' faces when he comes round for Christmas.

Disadvantage: See your dad's face when he comes round for Christmas.

Yes. You heard right. Rose Molly Weasley and Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy are best mates. And we've been for a while. Pretty much since we first met actually. It was on the train to Hogwarts, and I was completely terrified.

"What d'you think it'll be like?" I asked my cousin Al, biting my fingernails out of nervousness.

Al shot me a smile. "Can't be worse than Dad's time at school, with Voldemort trying to kill you every step of the way."

"Don't say that. What if-"

The compartment door slid open, and my heart started to pound wildly against my ribcage. It was now burning in my mind that my wand is in my bag, too far out of my reach. But I didn't have to worry, since it wasn't a cloaked Death-Eater like I feared. It was a blonde boy, no older than we are, with stormy grey eyes and quite a pale pallor.

"Sorry, it's just...d'you mind me sitting here? Everywhere else is full," he asked. He turned to look me face on and my breath caught when I realised who it was. Scorpius Malfoy.

To my bewilderment, my face smoothed into an easy smile. "Sure."

Malfoy smiled at me for a fleeting moment, and slumped in the seat next to me. "So, you must be Rose and Albus."

I nodded. "Call me Al," Albus chipped in.

"I'm Scorpius. But call me Scorp if you want," Scorpius-Scorp-shrugged.

"OK Scorp," I smiled. "So, are you looking forward to Hogwarts?"

Scorpius grinned. "Yeah," he smiled. Then he frowned, his steel grey eyes thoughtful. "Well, yes and no, I suppose. What about you?"

"Same. It's the houses, isn't it? So much pressure."

"Exactly," Scorpius started to smile. "I think my dad would kill me if I was in Gryffindor. Disown me at the very least anyway."

"Ditto if I was in Slytherin," I smiled. "Although, greens a nice colour."

"Yeah. Wouldn't red and yellow clash with your hair?" Scorp smirked-the friendly kind of smirk-and elbowed me playfully. I shoved him back.

That was the start of a beautiful friendship.

A.N: I uploaded this at half-past midnight. I couldn't sleep, and inspiration usually strikes around this time. Expect a lot of late-night updates!
