This is my first Hunger Games FanFic. I got hooked on the books so here I am :)

I'm with my best friend in Panem, Gale. The Hunger Games has ended, everything is right in the world. Gale has a new job hunting since I forced the Capitol to legalize it, to only us. It's a Saturday, so Gale and I spend the day in the woods hunting and gathering plant for a soup. We did prety well today. We caught 8 squirrels and 2 beavers, along with katniss roots and other edible plants and berries. We're on our way home, when I notice Gale's face. It's sunburned.

"Gale," I say, walking in front of him. "You're sunburned."
He looks and grins at me. That grin of his always makes me melt inside, and feel something more than just friendship for him, but of course I can never tell him that.
"Katniss, a sunburn is nothing. It'll heal, don't worry about it."
"No. You should come with me to the pond to cool off." I grab his arm and start dragging him, but my strength is nothing compared to his. In one swift move, he's broken from my grasp and instead grabs me and hoists me on his shoulder, carrying me to the pond.

"Gale!" I yell "Let me go before you drop me!"
"Do you really think I have the least bit intension of dropping you now?" Gale says, turning his head towards me.
"Well no but," I stop. Something he said wasn't right. "Wait, what do you mean now-ahh!" I scream as we finally get to the pond as Gale drops me in.
"Haha, maybe I should do that more often. You look great, by the way. Did you do something to your hair?" Gale jokes, trying to contain his laughter.
"No," I tell him, creeping closer. "But you're about to have many things changed by the time i'm done with you."

He catches on quick, and trys to get up before I grab him, but my speed makes up for his strength and in no time, I have hold of his leg and quickly have him in the water with me. As he wipes his eyes, I splash water on him, till he grabs hold of my waist and turns me towards him, our bodies pressed together. We both know what's going to happen. Gale leans in, and softly presses his lips to mine.

The kiss. It was amazing. I felt sparks and it was nothing could compare to it. As he pulls away, I decide I want, no, need more. I put my hands in his hair and pull him back, kissing him with need and pleasure. After a moment, he kisses back, but with force. I glide my tongue in,and get closer together. But we want more. I pull his shirt over his head, showing his well-toned muscles. I caress everything with my hands before he takes mine off. Gale looks at me. "You're beautiful."
I answer back by leaning im again and kissing him. I wrap my legs around him, and he grabs hold of me.

We're about to go further when we hear a hiss. It couldn't possibly be a snake, those dont exsist in District 12 or 13. The hissing gets closer. Gale and I look around for the source when I see it. Buttercup. Stupid ugly cat.

Then I decide something. I look at Gale then I hiss at the cat. I keep hissing when Gale joins me, and after a moment, the cat stares with cold eyes and walks out of the forest.

Gale turns to me. "Well, do you like the kiss?"
I then turn and smile at him. "Best ever."
"So do you want to..."
"Just kiss me again." I say as I lean back into him.

As we kiss, he picks me up bridal style and lays us down on the grass to dry off. I kiss him a few more times, before yawning and putting my head on his shoulder, his arm around me, and falling asleep next to the one I love. I know i'm safe with him, I'll always be safe with Gale by my side.
