Author's Note: While fangirling over The Hunger Games movie, I suddenly had the idea for this drabble (during my Pre-Calc class no less). Hope you guys like it. It's only 331 words, but I really like this piece. Enjoy!

Some days, she crawls into the closet, sobbing until he comes in and holds her, preventing her from shattering into a million pieces.

Some days, he grips the counter until his knuckles are white, fighting for control of his own mind. She watches from afar until it's safe for her to approach. She tells him all the good things they've done together, trying to pull him back to reality.

Some days, she looks out the windows, gazing at the primrose bushes that line the yard. It's not until he comes over with the memory book, open so that she preserve the memory that she's desperate not to forget, that she looks away. She can't lose that memory. It's too precious for that.

Some days, he can't let her out of his sight for even a second. Because if he does, he is terrified that he has lost her forever. He won't stop until he finds her. His fear only starts to go away when she holds his face in her scarred hands, reassuring him that she's there and will never leave him.

But other days,

she smiles at him, holding his hand until they reach their tree. He's holding a basket filled with fresh pastries, most of them her favorites. She's almost skipping, though she would never admit it. He makes her happy.

He spins her around, barely feeling the tightening in his metal limb. His joy is palpable in the air. His smile is so wide; she can't help but smile back. She tells him that he's making her dizzy. He quips back that he always does that; it's part of his charm. She kisses him sweetly, telling him that he's being an ass. He laughs. She makes him happy.

Some days are worse, other days are better. But no matter what happens the girl on fire can always find solace in the boy with the bread. She loves him and he loves her. And nothing can ever change that.
