Author's Note: Well. It's been a long time hasn't it? Much, much longer than I thought it was anyway. I AM SO SORRY THAT I HAVEN'T UPDATED IN LIKE FOREVER! My life has gotten so busy between school and family and other activities, etc. And honestly I started writing this story when I was so young that I have sort of been avoiding this out of pure embarrassment. Anyway. I'm going to try to continue updating a lot more frequently. THIS STORY WILL BE FINISHED! I promise. Ok so enough of this, I hope you enjoy this long awaited update.

Chapter 24

Breakfast Encounters

"James, James!" I called as I ran through the castle's halls.

"Oh, there you are Emma." James said when I finally caught up to him. "Have you already had breakfast?"

"There's no time for breakfast!" I exclaimed. "Listen, guess- "

"No time for breakfast? Breakfast is food, one of the most glorious discoveries of man kind." He interrupted, looking rather taken back. "Are you sure you're feeling alright?"

"Yes, yes, I'm fine. Now –" I started until I was interrupted once again.

"Great. Let's head to the Great Hall, I'm famished," he said before grabbing my arm and pulling me towards the mass of students rushing towards the Great Hall.

"James, you're not listening to me." I said, to which he responded to by muttering about how much he hoped they had baked beans this morning.

Yes, he's totally not listening.

"Oh and they had better have made extra bacon this time. There never seems to be enough when you're sharing a table with Hugo-"

"Oh come here." I finally said, and proceeded to drag him out of the way of the herd of students and into a corridor hidden by a tapestry. It must have been quite the sight; a teenage girl practically hauling a hungry teenage boy who was whining like a toddler about his appetite.

"This is too serious to discuss over breakfast." I told him when I had made sure that no one had followed us behind the tapestry and that it was safe to talk.

James' face completely switched from the mouthwatering look that was displayed in the hall into a much more sober expression.

"What is it? Are you hurt? Is this about the book?" He asked me suddenly frantic.

"No, I'm not hurt, but yes, this is about the book," I said before taking a deep breath, "It worked James, it really was magic. There was a hidden section of blank pages where writing started to appear on its own and-"

"Writing appearing on a blank page? That's some horcrux shite right there." He interrupted.

"Oh will you shut it and listen to me? As I was saying, suddenly writing just started to appear-"

"Horcrux shite" He muttered to himself.

"James Sirius Potter if you don't shut up and listen to your girlfriend than I swear on Merlin's yellowing beard that you will soon be single." I scolded him.

James' eyes suddenly got wide, "Yes mam. Dear. Er, lover?"

I rolled my eyes at his attempt to get back on my good side and continued my story. "After the writing and symbols appeared – don't you dare say anything – there was a blinding light and the next thing I knew I was in large, empty room. Then this woman sort of materialized out of nowhere. Her name was Niobe and she was said she was a temportis, just like my mother. Not only that James, she said she knew my mother. This woman was her friend."

"That's amazing!" James smiled, "What else did she say?"

I then proceeded to explain my entire encounter with the mysterious Niobe, starting from her explanation of the secrets that my mother had discovered to knowledge that Jocelyn was poisoned and finally finishing by stating there were dark forces that were working against us.

"So let me get this straight," James began, "You're mother, Jocelyn, was working on something that would save the temportis race. But these nasty blokes found out and decided to kill her before she could finish what she had planed. And the reason why we were all sent back in time is because of your mum. Oh, and its up to you to set things right again."

"Pretty much, yeah."

"Bloody hell," he breathed, "that's one hell of a story."

"You're telling me. Image my reaction when I suddenly woke up in my room again after hearing all of that."

"I can't even imagine," James suddenly looked up at me in a concerning manner and grabbed my hands. "Are you ok? You know, with the sudden knowledge that your mum didn't die in childbirth? That she was poisoned?"

"Well it certainly is a lot to take in. But if anything, it makes me want to work even harder on fulfilling what she was working on and getting home." I said, squeezing his hands in return.

"We'll figure it out. We have to. But first, we need to talk to Teddy."

"Teddy? I thought you were still avoiding him since he flipped after hearing we were a couple."

"Oh we got over that after you two talked it out. Although he still sends me this disconcerting looks every once in a while. Anyway," he shook his head, "Teddy's been working on getting us home. He needs to know everything that happened to you."

"What about your breakfast?" I asked with a smile.

"Oh my dear Emma. I think we both know that you are more important to me than even my bacon and eggs." He smiled back at me then preceded to yank me towards him, give me kiss and then walk me out from behind the tapestry and to Teddy.

The look of pure shock on Teddy's would have been quite hilarious if not for the topic at hand. Once he had taken the time to process the information I had just given him – a whole five minutes of him just staring at me completely stunned – he started to formulate a plan.

"This is absolutely unbelievable." He stated, "Alright here's what we need to do. We have got to contact this Niobe as soon as possible. Hopefully she'll be able to help us as much as she can."

"But isn't this her past self?" James asked, "How will she know anything of the future?"

"She's a temportis James. Knowing stuff of the future is sort of her party trick." I said.

"Very true, my wonderfully beautiful girlfriend whom I hope stays in a relationship with me. You are just brilliant." He responded.

"Is that your way of making up for the breakfast incident?" I laughed.

"Well I'm trying my best. You are simply marvelous and extraordinary and talented with a wicked tongue, if you know what I mean, and –"

"No I do not and I would like to keep it that way." Teddy said looking quite disgusted.

"Oh Edward. Forgot you were there for a second." James said sheepishly.

"Clearly," Teddy muttered with a slight smile, "Now if you excuse me, I'm going to start researching Niobe's whereabouts and try to contact her. Feel free to continue your groveling for Emma's forgiveness as soon as I'm out of hearing range."

Teddy then gave them both a little wave, a smirk and walked out of the abandoned classroom that they were in.

"Well then, where was I going with my groveling? I think it was heading somewhere around here." James smirked as he walked up to me and wrapped his arms around me, his fingers running along the small of my back.

"Oh really? This is where your groveling was taking you?" I teased and put my hands on his shoulders.

"Mhhm. Now please let me continue. After reaching this point, I would have complemented you on you wit, your skill with a wand, in quidditch and a long list of your other incredible talents."

"Don't forget my talented tongue. It is wickedly skillful, as you put it." I said as I wrapped my arms around his neck and played with the hairs at the base of his neck.

"Of course not. It is exquisitely skilled. One of my favourite talents of yours," he said in a deep voice that was much too sensual for a classroom setting.

I gulped. Hard.

Well then. Seems like James trying to make things up to me is equivalent to him trying to get me turned on. Duly noted.

"And of course it is my particular favourite when used on me." He smirked, "And with the amount of times that I've experienced your talented toungue, I've picked up a few tricks. Would you like to hear them?"

YES. Right now please.

My mouth suddenly got really dry and the only reply I could come up with was, "Um. Yeah."

"Well I've learned this little trick," He nibbled at my ear. "And this one," He kissed my jaw. "Oh and can't forget about this one," He leaned down and suckled on my neck, nibbling and biting before lapping his tongue over the spot.

Yup, that's gonna leave a mark.

James continued his little ministrations, running his mouth up towards mine but stopping before our lips could touch.

Ok. Now he's just trying to torture me.

Stupid attractive talented git.

"But nothing really beats this." He then closed the distance between us and kissed me.

Finally.

Our lips slowly moved over each others, savoring the moment, before James' tongue swept over my bottom lip and asked for entrance. Obviously he gained it and I parted my lips more in order to let his tongue in. I don't know why he was going on about how skillful I was when clearly he was the talented one out of the pair of us.

James then wrapped one of his arms fully around me which brought us much closer together while he brought his other arm up to tangle his hand in my hair.

Yes I like this proximity a lot better.

I bit down gently on his bottom lip, which caused him to his sensually and make my toes curl. Suddenly we were kissing a lot more ardently. Right as James went back to nibbling at the base of my ear, we heard a snicker. And then another.

We pulled our heads away from each other, while still keeping our arms wrapped around the other, and looked to see where the sound had come from.

"What the bloody hell was that?" James complained.

"It sounded like a giggle." I said.

"Hey!" I voice suddenly said. "I do not giggle!"

Suddenly Hugo Weasley and Lily Potter walked out from behind the door to the classroom.

"What are you two doing?" James practically growls.

"We were looking for you two. You skipped breakfast and Rose told us to go looking for you. Obviously we now know exactly why you skipped." Lily laughed before quickly stopping when she saw the look her brother was giving her.

"Well is there any reason as to why you didn't just leave once you saw we were – er, engaged?" I asked the two red heads.

"Um, well you see, uh" Hugo started before he was interupted.

"Why are you still here?" James snapped.

"Fred wants you." Lily finally said.

"Well he can wait," James began before Lily held up her hand to stop him.

"He doesn't want you."

"Who does my best mate want then?" James asked, getting impatient.

"Not that Fred," Lily said, to witch James and I gave her confused expressions, "Fred, as in Fred Weasley the First, wants you, as in Emma Nymphadora Black."

"Why does he want me?" I asked her.

"I don't know exactly. He mentioned something about Hogsmeade and a date." Lily said. "Well we've delivered our message, let's go Hugo."

"Bye folks." Hugo smiled before running after Lily who had just left the abandoned classroom.

Hogsmeade? Date? What is Lily talking about oh. Oh no. I promised Fred a date didn't I? Why would I do that again? Oh right, so he wouldn't snitch on me steeling Angus Rankin's book out of the Restricted Section. But I didn't think that he would really want me to go through with it!

"What is she talking about?" James asked me. "Emma? What Hogsmeade date does Fred want to talk to you about?"

Oh this isn't going end well.

A/N: I really hope you liked the chapter! I had fun writing it. It would be absolutely lovely if you reviewed *hint hint*. And of course if you want anything specific to happen in this fic then please just let me know and I will try my best.
