Prologue

"Hey, Hazel!" Jason called waving something in the air frantically at her. Hazel rolled her eyes at him, "Yes, Jason?" she said. Reyna darted out of the shadows behind her. Gwendolyn, Bobby and Dakota followed. Jason narrowed his eyes, "Are you stalking each other?" he asked. Reyna crossed her arms. "Just what is it?" she asked.

"A letter," he said with a slight shrug.

They heard a few voices shouting as they landed. A girl with chocolate brown choppy hair appeared along with a curly black haired boy with impish features.

"They must be the demigods Apollo is talking about," Jason murmured.

"Where are we?" the boy asked confused, then realized the girl was here. "Piper? You're here too?" he asked. The girl snorted, "Yes, Leo. Does that surprise you?"

"Who are you?" Jason asked reluctantly.

"Leo Valdez," Leo said with a shrug.

"I'm Piper McLean. Some better questions: Where are we and who are you?" Piper asked.

"Well, she has an attitude." Reyna said under her breath. Piper heard her and glared over at her.

"You're at Camp Jupiter. I'm Jason Grace, son of Jupiter." Jason said.

"these are Reyna, Gwendolyn, Hazel, Bobby and Dakota," he indicated to each one of them.

"Oh," Piper said with a nod.

"We're here to read a book apparently," Reyna told them.

"I'll start," Reyna volunteered. Piper nodded.

"The Lost Hero," she read.

Jason narrowed his eyes at the cover. "That looks like Leo in the front, Piper in the middle and I'm at the back." he observed.
