Disclaimer: I don't own the Teen Titans. If I did, Beast Boy and Raven would've gotten together in Season Three!
Fire and water. Polar opposites. That would be the best way to describe them. The empath and the changeling. Logic concludes that they are too different, that they shall never be together. Fate, however, slaps logic and repeats an old saying, "opposites attract".
The point in being that, for months now, Beast Boy has been lightly flirting with Raven, who appears not to notice. This does not bother him, as he knows she's watching him. That she's noticed his behavior, felt the emotions running off him. Maybe, she'd return the feelings too.
Malchior had broken her heart; she vowed never to love again. Terra had crushed Beast Boy's heart; only in time did he realize that it was Raven he longed for. That the dark sorceress had held his heart since the day they met. Terra was a distraction, nothing more. Slowly, the wounds began to heal.
Raven really did notice, and wished he'd stop. She wasn't going to risk her heart being broken again, despite how she felt about her green teammate. Raven couldn't risk it, wouldn't risk it. She began avoiding him, which only made him try harder. Which is promptly where we are right now.
Beast Boy has decided on a tricky solution, one that could possibly end his friendship with Raven forever; or, if all went well, they'd be together forever. He strolled down the dark corridor that lead to Raven's room. His palms were sweaty, his heart was racing. It was now or never. The future lay in the balance, Fate's plan moved into motion.
He knocks at her door, rapping once, twice, three times. Still it remains closed. "I know you're in there, Raven," Beast Boy states. "I thought you were done locking yourself in your room. Come out, please?"
Inside her room, Raven sits on her bed, waiting for him to leave. For the overwhelming sense of emotions to go away. He waits, she waits, and the world seems to hold its breath. Finally, Raven goes to the door, finding a tired Beast Boy standing there with his signature grin. "Beast Boy, this can't work. Please, just-"
Beast Boy's lips covered her own as his arms snaked their way across her back. She melts into the kiss, wanting it to continue, but wanting it to stop as well. Wrapping her arms around his neck, Raven deepens the kiss, throwing logic and her doubts out the window.
The sound of shattering light bulbs makes them part, but not for long. The passion and love they have for each other breaks through, and as the sun rises, a new day dawns. Suddenly, the world seems much brighter.
Maybe it's because the sun is rising. Or maybe, just maybe, it's because two people, polar opposites of each other, have finally found love.
