Equality
One evening, a priest strolled along the suburban streets near his church. He saw a march in protest and halted. The signs read "Gay all the way" and "Let us marry!" But the priest's eyes were drawn to a young woman who held a sign with the words, "Only love stops hate. Change our world. Love your enemies." Intrigued, he approached the woman and asked her, "Child, why do you feel these unholy urges?"
She replied, "I don't father."
"Then why do you stand here with these sinners?"
"These sinners are my brothers and sisters, and I love all my brothers and sisters equally."
This thought left the priest dumbstruck. Inspired by this woman's brevity and conviction, he picked up one of the picket signs and began marching with the crowd; and when asked why he, a priest, marched for gay rights, he responded calmly and coolly with, "Because they are my brothers."
