Homesick

Taemin is upset and Onew wants to know why. OnTae.

*note: I base all of my fics on things that SHINee have said/done and events that have really happened within the group from information gained via interviews, fancams, and SHINee TV shows. Except for crack!fics. they're completely random.

Onew was walking down the hall when he heard sniffling. At first he didn't think anything of it, but when the sniffling got louder, he thought something was wrong.

Wondering what it was, he knocked on the door where the sound was coming from, which happened to Taemin's room.

"Taemin, are you okay?" Onew asked knocking on the door.

"O-Onew-hyung? Y-yeah, I'm okay." Taemin's voice came shakily from inside the room.

Onew frowned. "You don't sound very okay," he said.

"I'm fine hyung." Taemin said in a firmer voice.

Onew didn't believe him for a second. Silently he opened the door and crept into the room.

"Taemin! You're crying!" Onew cried.

Taemin started, he leapt up from his bed and spun around, looking panicked that Onew had caught him.

"N-No I'm not." He tried, but Onew wasn't falling for it.

"No you're not, come on what's wrong?" Onew said.

Taemin sighed and sat back on his bed. He drew his legs up and wrapped his arms around them, resting his head on his knees.

Onew sat next to him and pulled him onto his lap, stroking his hair to calm him down.

"What's wrong?" he asked again.

Taemin sniffed. "I'm just…homesick I guess. I miss my family, and my hyung." He said.

Onew knew that Taemin was really close to his family, especially his brother.

Taemin had been upset when they'd been asked to give messages to their family on the radio, but he had no idea he was still sad about it.

"Why didn't you tell us Tae? We would have cheered you up." Onew said.

"I-I know hyung, but you all miss your own families, and I didn't want to seem like I was trying to get attention," Taemin said.

"Oh Tae-Tae, come on, come with me." Onew gently pulled Taemin to his feet.

He led him down the hall to the lounge room where the rest of the band were talking and eating.

"Taemin? What's wrong?" Key asked immediately.

"Taemin's upset? Why, what's wrong?" Jonghyun said turning to look at Taemin.

Minho got up and hugged him. Taemin began crying again, but this time from happiness.

His hyungs cared so much about him.

"You should have told us you were upset. What's wrong Taeminnie?" Jonghyun asked.

Taemin let go of Minho and wiped his eyes on his sleeve, his face breaking into a smile.

"Nothing hyung. I was upset before, but I'm happy now. All my hyungs are very nice, it's like I'm home with my family." He said.

Key smiled and waved him over. Taemin and Onew sat with the others and they effectively cheered Taemin up, bringing him out of his homesickness.

He had another family. A SHINee family.

Yeah okay so it's not really an OnTae but I like to think of it as one.
