Kaito greeted me with a gentle smile and despite the previous happenings i found i was still able to smile back at him.

"Are you doing alright?" He asked, his smile turning sheepish.

"I guess. Why?"

"You seem to be... avoiding someone." He answered and then got closer and then whispered, "Are you in trouble?"

I shruged and muttered a 'not really' while pondering whether I should say anything to him or not.

He stood silently thinking and then wondered if i would go on a walk with him. I agreed and to my surprise he didn't lead me to a ice cream vendor. We just spent the day walking and talking about nothing in particular. It was the most fun i had for a while now. We stayed out until the sky showed brilliant hues of reds, oranges, and magentas.

Saddly yhis happiness did not last as our smiles turned into frowns. The lights to the house were sll off and it was so quiet i wondered if the next breath i took would wake the dead. Kaito stood beside me looking concerned while I forced a brave face.
