I know he loves her because I see it in his eyes every time he looks at me.

I know he misses her because I see the tears fall when he looks at the draperies that darken the room.

I know he regrets losing her because she was the one who was there when no one else was.

In another life, another time, I know he still loves her because even now he looks at me and gets lost in his thoughts about her. His heart breaks all over again and I know that no magic could erase what he feels for her. I hear him sobbing when he remembers that fateful day when she left him because he did not want to give up his powers for the one who offered him love. He was a beast, for he refused himself true happiness.

To anyone else I am but a cup. Breakable, replaceable. But to him I mean a great deal more. I may be just a chipped cup, but I am the witness of his love for her and hers for him. In this new world I remain with him, and he still looks at me with his heart full of love for her.

Author's Note: That sounded more decent in my mind. But the tears have been falling since I watched Skin Deep and every time I remember their story I cry like a baby. I was inspired by the memory of the original Disney version of Beauty and the Beast where Chip saves Belle when Gaston and the others locked her up. Sighs. Well, we can hope.
