Alpha and Omega: After Realization

Chapter 18: Part V- A Lawless Execution

"How is this here? Why is this here?" asked Jack again.

"I believe you were already told that whenever anything, or anyone, passes away, a part of it remains in nature my dear child"

"Even the dark aspects of nature?"

"Yes my child, both the light and dark aspects of nature always retain a part of itself after passing on, finding balance with each other and a greater purpose as well"

Jack couldn't keep his eyes off the spherical flower as his eyes stayed focused on the small yellow spikes that were at the top of the beautiful plant. His mind was starting to swirl as his past came back to him, almost as if something from long ago was calling out to remind him of something.

"There is always a touch of destiny in every living thing, big or small, and when it comes to you, there is no denying it"

He could hear the words in his head, a soft whisper speaking to him and from someone he had come to know for so long since his days as a pup in the north. After a moment of looking at the flower and keeping his mind calm and clear, he turned his attention back to his friend and family as Humphrey and Anna laid beside each other now as they kept their eyes on Lilly, who was also still lying down on the ground and breathing slowly.

"How's she doing?" asked Jack.

Anna turned her head as she looked back at Jack and gave a smile of reassurance.

"She's slowly improving, her breathing isn't as bad as before, it's starting to sound more normal now thanks to the nectar" replied Anna.

"Well thank goodness, that's good to hear" said Jack.

As Jack, Anna, and Humphrey kept their eyes on Lilly to watch for signs of healing, they then heard the voice of their old friend again.

"It looks like Lilly will make a great recovery guys, but hopefully it won't take too long, we're needed back in Jasper soon"

"What do you mean?" asked Jack.

Meanwhile back in Jasper, a chilling howl echoed through the Eastern territory as many white wolves emerged from the surrounding forest as they let out vicious growls and barks. The Eastern Pack wolves responded back with their own growls and barks but quickly stopped as they saw that the number of white wolves outmatched them and as they decided on what they should do, the entire scene transformed as a white wolf came leaping from the side and attacked one of the eastern wolves and pinned him to the ground before sinking its teeth into the wolf's neck and snapping the neck in a flash. Chaos erupted as the horde of white wolves followed in suit and lunged at the pack with ferocity as each and every wolf fought back against one another, the scene unfolding violently as wolves alike bit at each others legs, shoulders, face, and at the neck as before. Even with many wolves on their side the Eastern pack began to be pushed back and causing many to flee from the fight as quickly as they can as they saw their companions be brought down and ending up on the ground in forming pools of blood as their deep wounds laid bare and open.

Among the chaos and the bloodshed that was taking place, one wolf walked slowly and calm through the violent fighting. Her eyes red as she has always been, with her black patch of fur on her right side around her eye. Paola was making her way through the horde of wolves that fought around her, her face baring a smile that could send cold snaps through ones being alone. She was approaching the main den of the territory as four white wolves were already at the entrance of it, with one taking notice of her and turning to face her.

"Mistress, everything went according to how you wanted it, but some wolves have ran off and most likely to the western territory" spoke the wolf.

"That doesn't matter much, we'll get to them soon enough when we finish up here with our special friend" replied Paola.

The wolves made space from the entrance of the den and allowed their leader to pass, with Paola only looking inside and having spotted the one she had come for. The wolf was panting heavily as he stood facing towards her, his body showing battle damage as severe bites were visible along his legs and on his shoulders. Paola could see the small trickles of blood dripping from the wounds as she approached the wolf ever so slowly.

"Well hello again, I told you we'd settle things soon" said Paola.

She started to laugh as Garth could only stand his ground, his bleeding wounds were taking its toll on him and leaving him weaker by the second. He gave a growl and snarl at Paola as she stopped laughing and raised an eyebrow at his response.

"Like I told you before in our last meeting, you have authority based on how you express it and show it and not just by getting the status of an alpha alone"

"I've always shown I can be an alpha and express it when needed...but you...I can tell a lot about a wolf by looking at them...and you...you're no alpha...and I'm guessing you just think of yourself as one...but never got to become one for real" replied Garth.

The air now became cold as Paola bared her teeth now as her red eyes showed signs of some kind of glow, with Garth now seeing something different about her than before. This wolf was much more than an ordinary wolf, she seemed to not only have her own strength but almost as if she had another hidden power within her. Time almost looked as if it stood still while he stared at his opponent as she kept her teeth bare and her eyes focused on him with what appeared to be a sharp focus unlike any wolf he had seen or even trained as an alpha. Within the blink of an eye Garth made his choice with no hesitation as he tighten his muscles and leaped forward towards Paola. From within the cave the wolves outside could hear a series of loud growls and barks as they knew that both their new leader and Garth were locked in an intense fight.

Several seconds passed before finally a loud snapping sound was heard as it echoed from within the den and followed by what sounded like bones snapping. Some time passed as the wolves didn't hear another sound and just as they prepared to enter to check on their mistress, something was tossed from within the den and flew right past them as it went tumbling across the ground and snow too. The wolves gathered over to where the object had fallen and even they were in shock at what they saw before them. It was the decapitated head of Garth, the blood oozing from where his head was once connected to his neck as it formed a thick pool under it. From the den Paola soon emerged as she licked her lips clean of the remaining blood that were at the corners of her muzzle and front lips, giving a devilish grin as she made her way over to her wolves as they took notice and stood at attention the moment she came close to them.

"If this was all the poor and stupid alpha of the Eastern Pack can offer, then it won't be much of an issue taking out the other alpha leaders in the west" stated Paola.

A green and lively forest was all around her as she looked around in wonder, she could feel something that strangely felt heavenly but she still felt lost. She tried to get her bearings as she could then hear a voice echo among the trees.

"Lilly"

Lilly turned around as she heard the echo, a voice she knew sounded familiar but she couldn't make out who it was calling out to her.

"Lilly...Lilly..."

"W-Who is it?" asked Lilly.

The forest never shifted or changed as she didn't move from her spot, unable to leave her place until she could know who called to her.

"Who are you?...Where are you?"

She didn't get a response for a moment as she asked out her question, the silence making her nervous even with her environment being so calm and peaceful.

"Lilly"

This time Lilly could almost hear the voice so close to her as she turned to look behind her and it was then she could see a dark silhouette of a wolf before her, unable to see who it was but she could now tell from the voice that it was male.

"Who are you? Do I know you?" asked Lilly.

The mysterious wolf started to slowly step towards her as she asked him her question, with Lilly wanting to step back but she held her ground and prepared for what might happen. Just as the wolf was inches away from her spot he fell to the ground and let out a loud yelp as if in pain. Lilly's eyes widened out as she immediately jumped forward and tried to get a better look at the wolf but her express turned into terror and dread as her eyes seemed to have the color sucked out of them as she came face to face with the wolf before her, seeing the gray wolf with so many scars all over his body and bleeding out so much blood. The wolf then lifted his head slowly and barely alive up to look at her with a weak smile as he uttered out to her.

"I'll...always...love you my dear omega"

"HUMPHREY!"

"Nooooo!"

Both Anna and Humphrey were sent back in fright as Lilly unexpectedly jumped up to her feet in shock as she screamed out, with Anna quickly stepping forward and placing her paw on her back to help in keeping her calm.

"Lilly, Lilly please calm down, calm down it's okay" said Anna.

Lilly was panting and taking deep breathes as she frantically turned her head side to side until her gaze was on Humphrey, causing her to move forward and wrap her paws around his shoulders and holding onto him close as her head rested on his chest. She couldn't stop herself from crying out loud as tears surged from her eyes and started to get Humphrey's fur wet, to which he didn't mind as he only returned her hug and held her close.

"Humphrey! Humphrey!" said Lilly.

Humphrey couldn't figure out why his lovely omega had finally woken up from her sickened state so sudden and sad but he pushed those thoughts aside as he held her again for the first time since she had become ill a while back in Jasper. Lilly only continued to cry as her cries were muffled in Humphrey's fur and chest, as Jack and Anna both smiled at each other in relief as they felt glad that she had made a recovery but were concerned as to what had caused her to wake up so swiftly and so sad too. The sight was one to of happiness as Jack and Anna began to cry tears of joy, with Jack feeling so overjoyed to see his sister had come back from the brink of death.

"Thank the spirits, she pulled through, and thanks to you too Anna amiga" said Jack.

"I only knew what could help, nature did the rest for us Jack" responded Anna as she wiped tears from her eyes and muzzle.

"I'm glad to see they are finally reunited guys, but we still have to get back to Jasper as soon as possible"

"What's going on back home that's so important?" asked Anna.

"Death is coming to all of Jasper and we need to stop it before all of your friends and family are taken by its violent and cold embrace"

And so this brings an end to Chapter 18 in the story. I do apologize if this chapter was a bit short, probably the shortest I've done out of all the chapters I've done I believe. We will hopefully get Chapter 19 up for all of you as we return to Jasper for the growing climax we've had to wait for for so long. There are actually little chapters left, some might end up being somewhat short or long, but I will do my best effort to deliver the finale many have waited for in this Alpha and Omega story after little over 5 years in the making since it first started. Please stay tuned and peace out for now my dear friends.
