To say Claire was pissed would be the understatement of the century. She was absolutely steaming with anger. She was the type of angry were the vein in her forehead popped out, her face became as red as a tomato, and her hands were clenched into fists.

All that was running through her mind was the events that had just transpired. Nothing more, nothing less. How dare they? How dare they all? How dare he?

Her normally sparkly eyes turned black and hard. In a slow quiet voice that scared her entire family Claire says, "I'm going home."

That's all she says before she turns on her heel and walks out of her dad's house, door slamming behind her.

Not one of her family members knew what to do. Haley, the normally slow one of the family spoke up first, "What is wrong with you all?" she yells. She grabs her bag off the table and storms out of the house. Luke shakes his head and follows her out, Alex hot on their heels.

The rest of the family remains still, silence and regret overcoming them.

Haley jumps into her dad's car and jumps when she hears the back door open. She is shocked when Alex and Luke climb into the back seat.

"What are you guys doing?" Haley asks with a shaky voice.

"How could they do that?" the normally stoic Alex asks with tears in her eyes.

"I-I don't know." Haley says. She reaches her hand toward the back seat and Alex clings to it for all its worth.

"I want mommy." Luke says, this time not faking the child like behavior.

Haley pulls out of the drive way and heads down the familiar street, light up by the street lights.

She pulls up to their house, all the lights are off but she knows her mom is home since the car is in the driveway.

They all quickly walk toward the front door and with one last reassuring glance from her siblings Haley opens the door.

An eerie silence has fallen over the house, the normal creeks of the house settling were the only noises heard.

They were walking through the front hallway when Haley puts her arm out to stop them, "Watch out for the glass." She says. Their mom must have thrown the vase because it was now shattered all over the floor.

"Mom" Haley calls out.

"In here." They hear a shaky voice call from the living room.

They rush to their mothers side.

"Oh mom." Haley breathes when she sees her strong mother sitting on the floor with a glass of wine in her hand. Tear marks evident on her cheeks. Claire quickly brushes them away, she doesn't want her kids to see her like this.

"You guys didn't have to leave Sunday night dinner." Claire says trying to pretend like everything is normal.

"Yes we did mom." Luke says.

"Oh Lukey." Claire says and he walks over to her, sits down and puts his head on her shoulder.
