"Father, will you stay to dinner? I'd be honored if you did. There's nothing special going on tonight, but it would be nice to have a family dinner without a tussle for once. You can eat down here without harm can't you?" Persephone requests of her father.

"That would be lovely Persephone. Thank you for asking. It will be lovely to be away from the adoration and mewling people of Olympus for the night. I'm honored. I'll be fine eating down here, but I'm the only one who would be protected." Zeus says as he thinks about his wife's anger at him not being home for dinner. "I'll just send Hermes with a message and a peace offering to Hera, if you don't mind."

"Gods forbid you should make her any angrier than she already is. She has a legendary temper, if I remember rightly." Hades says teasing his brother. In fact Hades fights with Hera as much as Zeus does. She doesn't take rejection of any kind well and she likes to pick fights.

"You have no idea. You'd think that I was a small child. She makes me check in all the time. I don't blame her for not trusting me but she's not exactly trustworthy either. She's absolutely infuriating. It's not as if she's even blameless in this situation." Zeus huffs.

"No one's ever blameless. That's one thing I've learned being in the underworld. Hera isn't exactly known for her faithfulness either. I have more stories of mortal men sleeping with Hera than mortal women sleeping with you and that is certainly saying something. Hera does it to be vindictive whereas you do it because you can't seem to be in control of yourself. Hera's very deliberate in what she does. I can't tell you why she does it. I only know she does for some reason. I can't talk to her the way I used to be able to. Something has changed in her." Hades says actually listening to his little brother for once. Since he's gotten married himself he's much more sympathetic to his younger brother's problems.

"I don't know her anymore. We promised each other that we would always be honest with each other and now we can't talk at all. I can't even really tell you when it all fell apart, but it has." Zeus summons Hermes with a snap.

"What can I do for you, my lord?" Hermes asks as he pops up next to Zeus.

"Would you tell my lady, Hera, that I will be joining my brother and his wife for dinner? I won't be late, but I want her to know." Zeus requests.

"Of course my lord." Hermes pops out of the room back to Olympus.

"There. Problem solved. Now we can enjoy the evening. As long as Hera doesn't come and check up on me." Zeus breathes a sigh of relief. Hades starts to laugh and Zeus quickly joins in.
