Hey all, here's a little oneshot for all of you... if there are any mistakes, do point them out… Enjoy!
Ron gazed at the fireplace where the ashes were still glowing. The war had been over a year ago but the gloom of destruction still hung around. He would still have nightmares of the empty cries of loss and the motionless bodies. He tightened his grasp on Hermione while she slept peacefully.
People were still mourning over the deaths of their loved ones more than rejoicing victory. His entire family had been shattered. Percy seemed to be blaming himself for Fred's death, Ginny was always trying to comfort harry, Mum tried to get them together to have some time with everyone, but failed miserably. George, even after being helped by Ron in the joke shop, was still incomplete and gloomy all the time.
"Couldn't sleep?"
He looked down to see Hermione eyeing him with concern. He leaned down and kissed her softly.
She smiled and asked, "Thinking of the war again, aren't you?"
"We lost so many people that it doesn't seem that we won."
"It is very difficult for everyone. But we have to cope up with it."
He took her hand and kissed it. He kissed everywhere on the palm but stopped when he reached her wrist. He saw the word Mudblood scarring the arm of the strong and beautiful woman. He kissed every inch of the scar as if that would erase the scar. As he did so, the memory of that dreadful night came back to him. He could almost hear Hermione's helpless screams again.
"You know, you are like a phoenix for me. The more you kiss that scar, the lesser the pain gets," she giggled a bit.
He looked into those mesmerizing brown eyes again. Kissing her with all the passion, he murmured, "So are you."
Hope you all like it… Review please. ^_^
