A/N: Just a quick little something that came to me after 'Eve of the War'. Such a sad episode, but a fine farewell from George/Russel Tovey. Reviews and Crits are welcomed.

There was no God. No deity on high who controlled the daily goings on in the world.

Annie Sawyer was certain of this.

If there was a God, they wouldn't have given her such wonderful friendships only to tear them away just when she needed them the most.

They wouldn't have taken those friends one by one, making each loss more difficult than the last.

No. If God existed she would not have to make the agonising decision of staying with her friends' baby instead of moving through her door and joining them in the afterlife she knew existed.

She wouldn't have to watch as each of them was torn brutally from the world only to have to stay there herself.

There was an afterlife, a heaven and hell. But there was no such thing as God.
