Hogwarts, a Couple of Months Later
Harry smiled as he gently awoke to the noise of his dorm roommates moving about and sounds that sounded like paper being ripped apart.
As he opened his bed curtains he was shocked at what lay at the foot of his bed.
Presents, actual Christmas Presents meant for him.
Harry felt tears prickle at the edge of his eyes as the emotions nearly overwhelmed him seeing such a simple means of kindness and generosity being shown and given to him.
Christmas was always a hard and lonely time for him as he was always the one that had to clean up the chaotic mess made by Dudley after the obese boy had ripped apart the wrapping paper and other presents that he deemed too boring or not good enough.
Along with Harry having to watch as the Dursley family as they blatantly showed him their comforts and closeness as a family, at least their version.
With Vernon getting drunk on mulled wine and Petunia being even more shrill than usual with Harry after a few glasses of sherry and champagne while Dudley gorged himself on christmas sweets and chocolate till his face was covered in powdered sugar and melted chocolate.
There was one time even when Vernon got so drunk that he grabbed Harry and threw him out into the cold snow in the back garden to his protests and pleading.
He spent the whole night huddled up in a corner of the garden under a small tree trying to keep out of the falling snow as he frantically searched for some way to keep warm.
However there was no luck, he could have died if he did not keep warm; if not for something miraculous and amazing happening that he did not understand why it happened till now.
He fell asleep shivering in the cold yet when he awoke the next morning he was safe and warm in his cupboard with no problems at all except having to face his hungover relatives as they stumbled around confused as to how he got back in the house.
They did not do much just interrogate him a bit then leave him alone since they all were too tired to deal with anything related to Harry.
He now knew it was his magic reacting to the situation and making sure he was safe and alive by transporting him to his cupboard some way and making sure he was warm.
Harry shook his head and blinked away his tears as he refocused on the gifts in front of him rather than the depressing memories associated with his relatives.
What he saw was a mixture of medium and small packages wrapped up in many different coloured wrappings with some that were animated, meaning the figures on the paper moved and whizzed about all over the present's paper wrappings.
He opened the smallest one first which was about the size of a ring box, it had glittering stars as its packaging cover.
What was inside was interesting, it was a silver ring with a blank white stone in its centre.
He saw the name on the tag and what it said:
"To Harry,
From Neville; Happy Christmas."
Harry was really glad to get a gift from one of his newest and best of friends.
He turned to Neville who also had a smattering of gifts as well.
Harry spoke to him, "Thank you very much for the ring Neville."
Neville simply smiled and said back, "You're Welcome Harry."
Neville then returned to his own gifts which included a few unopened boxes of Chocolate Frog Card's, a few small books on Herbology and Plant Care along with a thick cloak that seemed fit for winter weather.
Which would be useful with the snowy and cold weather outside that Harry could just see outside the window as Harry knew it was needed since Neville's School robes don't have the same charms like how Harry's own regular School robes were charmed to help him in weather like this.
Harry decided next year if he was shopping with Neville to have the the Boy get the same charms for himself for his robes.
Harry decided to move down into the Common Room and possibly see Hermione and possibly receive her gift as he did not see a note with hers attached saying it was from her.
Neville soon followed along as they trudged down stairs to see the Common Room decorated in Christmas like Decorations of Blue and Bronze with the occasional silver ornament which was most noticble on the Christmas Tree in the corner of the room that had a Silver Star at its top.
Harry soon spotted Hermione, who appeared to be helping Lisa sort through a bunch of gifts that seem to have been left under the decorated tree.
Harry walked over, with Neville right begging him as they both said at the same time to the girls, "Merry Christmas Hermione/Lisa."
The girls turned around with happy smiles on their faces as they each said back to the boys in turn, "Merry Christmas Harry/Neville."
Harry was glad that Hermione decided to stay at Hogwarts for Christmas even though it was a first time for her doing so with her not going home and seeing her parents for the holidays.
The same went for Lisa yet it appeared to benefit their parents who could use the time to have a small holiday abroad to Munich where they had a small house there to enjoy their time together, from what Lisa explained after she sent a letter asking to stay at Hogwarts.
To which her parents sent a letter back saying it was fine and that she should enjoy her time with Friend's at Christmas.
Neville really did not want to go home for Christmas since it would mean having degrading and insulting comments said to him by his Gran and other relatives.
He apparently still had plans to go and see his parents in St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries from what Neville told his friends in secret when he felt it was okay to talk about it earlier this month.
Harry did not know if he could ask to join the boy in seeing both parents and maybe find a way if any of his Aliens could help the elder Longbottom parents or a function of his Omnitrix.
Harry was relieved that the incident with the Troll had settled down a few weeks after Halloween as it had been hard to find evidence of what exactly happened bar the Troll having to be put down since it would have apparently died anyway since it appeared to have two punctured lungs from a few of its ribs stabbing its internal organs.
Harry was at first uncomfortable that he had caused the death of a sentient being but he realised that it was not his fault for defending Hermione and making sure his friends got to safety.
It was whoever let the Troll in and apparently wanted to get whatever was on the third floor.
Harry decided he should investigate that place to see if he could further stop whoever was after whatever the Headmaster was keeping hidden away and 'safe' from being stolen.
Later that night, Hogwarts Third Floor.
Harry crept along the corridor as quiet as he could, he did think of using his aliens to help him sneak about but he need not do so with the special item he got as a birthday present that he found under the tree in the common room of Ravenclaw Tower.
It was a invisibility cloak that was apparently a belonging of his father's that he was sure his dad talked about in his journal and of how one day it disappeared for some reason some time after they went into hiding and had a meeting with the old man, Dumbledore.
Harry suspected that the old wizard had somehow snuck into their home while they were in bed after the meeting through some sort of unique magic that the old man may have possessed and stole the cloak for whatever reason.
This was verified when Harry used a spell that he found in his trunk that used magic to identify the handwriting, it was a very old book and looked to be nearly falling apart if it were not for the spells holding it together.
The spell was used on the card that came with cloak which simply said:
'Your father left this in my possession before he died.'
'It is time it was returned to you.'
'Use it well.'
'A Very Merry Christmas to you.'
Harry was immediately skeptical as were his friends who saw and talked about the cloak in great length when they all opened the presents that were left over from the other larger or more important gifts that they thought needed opening first.
Harry was glad he did decide to not move into his Manor home yet as it would be better if he did so after his first year seeing as he would have more time to acclimatise himself to living in such a house from what he was told by his parents on Halloween when he used the old druidic ritual to contact the other side with the help of some translations and other spells in conjunction with the ritual to make it easier for him to cast and use to contact his parents.
Neville only stayed for short time due to feeling overwhelmed at meeting his now spiritual Godmother who merely wished him well and commented how much he looked like his mother.
Harry's parents were then able to ask questions and give information that they deemed were for Harry's ears only to listen to.
When Harry revealed the Omnitrix, after speaking to them for a bit about his life and what had happened to him of which they were furious at what Harry told them about his life living with the Dursley's and other details; his mother had a look in her eyes that he bet would have sent many a follower of Voldemort running for the hills while his father was cursing up a storm and would have continued if his mother did not silence him with said angered look.
It was certainly worth the gobsmacked look his dad had when he saw him transform a few times, which helped distract his parents from their previously angered dispositions.
It was his mother's odd look as she saw some of his transformations that made Harry feel she knew more than she was saying as she commented on his Alien forms.
Harry's Dad was really wanting to see his Titan form but it was not possible since the castle itself had no room big enough to fit that particular form.
Unfortunately, there was not much time left since the ritual was nearly over with the hourglass Harry had set up nearby to time the ritual's length of use.
Before their spiritual forms faded away they wished Harry luck and hoped to see him next year if he could summon them again along with Harry's father telling him to make sure to get to the Manor soon to help recharge the wards and make sure that the manor was in good condition along with visiting a special room in the manor that only a Potter heir and future Lord could access.
Harry was unsure of what awaited him when he went to this manor but he decided to keep an open mind and make sure to do his best.
Harry shook his head and refocused his attention on his current path towards the forbidden corridor and supposed room that hid whatever was deemed so 'dangerous'.
He found the right door soon after, it was easy to with the general look of the door as it was much darker and more secure looking of a door with the very dark wood used for the door and the heavy handle and simple lock on the door.
There was a general breeze of bad smells and air coming from the door as it creeped through the cracks in the wood and spaces between gaps in the wall surrounding the door.
Harry, once he put his cloak away in a small bag on his hip that he charmed to be bigger on the inside, gave the door a few experiential tugs to see the strength of the locks but made sure to not make them too loud so as to alert anyone to his presence.
This made Harry aware that there could be wards or spells that let the old man know who was at the door so he backed up a bit and take his, now one and only wand out; he decided to let Neville keep the other wand since it appeared to work much better than it did in Harry's possession and when Harry went back to Ollivander's he would see if he could try another wand from the man's special collection of wands.
He waved the wand through the air as he muttered incantations and checked for spells along with any trap, protection or monitoring wards.
What he found was generally surprising, just a few spells to make sure that the door stayed locked when closed and a small detection charm that was fused into the door's hinges to let someone know that the door had been opened.
It would probably take a second or even a first year to even open the door and that was being honest with how much the education of magic was being taught nowadays at Hogwarts.
Harry deduced this from how the spells and small wards on the door made sure the it stayed locked when someone goes in and closes it but there was no spell to stop someone from opening it from outside the door.
It could just be a way for the teachers to get in and check other spells inside but Harry was sceptical of this.
Harry shrugged this off for the moment as he focused on how to open the door without setting the alarms off.
He came up with one that was a bit odd but could work.
He waved his wand around again as he cast his spell, "Evanesco", and pointed towards the door as he finished his incantation.
The whole door, locks and hinges too, was soon gone entirely.
All that was visible was a darkened room that was viewable through the gap where the door once was.
Harry's idea was that if the door was no longer there then the spells that were added to it originally would be gone as well.
Harry cautiously stepped through the former doorway, now a small archway instead, as he entered the room.
What he saw inside made him freeze mid step as he saw a astonishing yet slightly terrifying sight.
It was a big, and he meant really big, black dog that appeared to be waking up slowly as Harry saw the dog's nose sniff a few times as if picking up a new scent.
What made him even more freaked out and scared was the fact that it had THREE FREAKIN HEADS!
The mind of Harry immediately sorted out what he was seeing before him, as the three headed dog was now awake and looking down at Harry with slightly narrowed eyes or rather 6 narrowed eyes as they all centered on a frozen stiff Harry.
It was a Cerberus, known in legend and mythology as the hound of the underworld that guarded its gates fiercely.
One part of Harry's mind was wondering where in the heck did Dumbledore find a place to get a bloody Cerberus from?
The other part of Harry's mind was had just one thought going through his head.
"Oh Shit."
I know I said I would possibly make a Christmas chapter and a New Years one but I have to wrap this one up as I have other stories to work on and I want to at least write up something short for people to enjoy until I can return to this Fanfic with better enthusiasm and more drive to work on it.
So for now I will just say; hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Years and I will try and work on another chapter later on in the year so how about a short Easter one or something for the summer? As I may need that time to work on my other stories.
See you soon my readers.
