This takes place during "Silent Christmas Part 1" during the part where Mai first becomes possessed by Kenji. This is my idea of Naru's reaction.

The lights flickered on and off, and Mai sank to the floor.

What's wrong? Is this her latent psychic abilities kicking in? No, if that were true than why isn't Hara-san being affected?

Takigawa suddenly realised that something wasn't right with her. "Hey Mai, is everything alright?" he asked genuinely concerned, he treated Mai like a little sister.

Completely inappropriate. I felt a stab of some emotion- jealousy? Why was I jealous? They can act however they want as long as it doesn't get in the way of work, as if I care.

Mai looked up and surveyed the room; she paused briefly when she met my eyes and I saw a familiar something flash in her eyes, but then they were back to normal again. Or were they? Something was off with her, that's for sure.

Mai soon moved her gaze to my right, and instantly her eyes went wide; I listed the emotions flashing across her face.

Shock.

Disbelief.

Hope.

Wonder.

Joy.

And then something that tore my heart out. Love. So much love.

Who is she looking at? Who can make her feel so safe? She was a wreck a minute ago.

I turned my head to look at this person, the person that I unexplainably wanted to be. What the bloody hell was wrong with me?

I took in the black hair, tall figure and dark suit- LIN?

Mai…Lin….Lin…Mai….together?

I was shocked, Matsuzaki was shocked, Takigawa was shocked and angry, Hara-san was shocked, and John and Lin were attending to the exorcized child and therefore unaware of the situation.

Mai suddenly sprinted towards Lin and clung to his arm, Takigawa and I both clenched our fists and gritted out teeth. There was no doubting it -Lin was in a shit load of trouble.

Lin seemed a bit surprised also. What's wrong Lin? Ashamed of your dirty little secret? The vein in my temple was throbbing, I didn't trust myself to speak.

"Mai?" Lin asked, I thought I had it figured out then. Lin had seduced Mai and entered into an inappropriate and sick 'Relationship' with her, then made her keep it quite because he either wasn't sure of how he felt of her and didn't want to risk strained relationships in the office, or he was just…using her and really didn't want anything to do with her.

Anger riled up inside of me at the last part.

A light, innocent giggle interrupted my thoughts, the laugh of a child… Kenji.

Mai?

Why was Mai giggling like she was 8 years old again?

It hit me, Kenji was possessing Mai! The others got it just after me.

I breathed a sigh of relief.
