Disclaimer: I don't own the characters; if I did their life wouldn't have sucked so badly! I only own my writing.

A/N: This is my first posted story, but not my first written one. I'm still finishing that one up, so I threw this in to fill the space… Reviews are welcome!

Scared…

Chakotay rushed to sickbay, intense panic rising in his gut. He had just found out that Kathryn had been transported directly from the mess hall. There was a small amount of fear creeping into his thoughts. What happened? What was wrong? Why did she need an emergency transport?

He stepped off the turbolift and ran the distance to sickbay. When he finally entered he saw her laying on the biobed. Chakotay quickly walked to her side, grabbing her hand. The Doctor was buzzing around getting supplies ready.

"What's wrong? What happened?" Chakotay asked her, worry shown in his face. Kathryn just smiled at him.

"Nothing's wrong, Commander." The Doctor replied, moving to administer a hypospray. "Your wife's merely gone into labor."

Three hours later Chakotay brought his newborn daughter over to Kathryn, smiling so wide his cheeks hurt.

"She's so beautiful…" She said with tears in her eyes. As Chakotay handed their daughter to her, he had tears coming down his cheeks as well.

"Kathryn…" He said as he sat next to her on the bed.

Tearing her gaze away from their precious little girl, she looked at him and replied, "Yes?"

"Don't ever scare me like that again." He said with a huge grin on his face.

She started to laugh, which caused him to laugh as well.

The three of them sat there for a long while enjoying the moment.
