The Stale Start CH.1

Tom was an average guy. All throughout his high school career he was complacent with his work, as most teenagers are. His fondest dream was to do... nothing. Tom wanted nothing more than to watch or do something interesting all day. If he had to create an interesting situation in order to do so, well, he had no problem with that. This made him a bit alienated when it came to people. Nevertheless people found themselves gravitating to Tom's aura of carefree amusement. Tom was a natural leader. He also didn't care.

Equestria: Twilight's POV

"Spike can you help me find this book?" I looked over and smiled. Spike looked over at me and shrugged. "Sure thing what book?" I giggled.

"It's a tome from Starswirl the Bearded that talks about illusions..." I thought for a moment. What was that again...

Spike looked over. "So what does that mean Pinkie?" Always so eager Spike. The thought brought a smile to my face.

I looked over at Pinkie. She had a serious look on her face. Now that is scary! "Pinkie, what's wrong?" Pinkie looked over at me. She had fear in her eyes. The twitching had ceased.

"I don't know Twi. I don't know." She keep zoning out for a minute and then seemed to gather herself. She walked out without her usual quirkiness.

"Twilight. Somethings wrong with pinkie." He looked confused. "We should go see if we can do anything."

He's right. I nodded to Spike. "Alright! We need to talk to Pinkie and see what's wrong. It's what a good friend would do!" We went out the door smiling.

Still, for Pinkie to seem depressed over it. It has to be quite the doozie...

Earth: Tom's POV

Tired. GOD so tired. That was the only thing running through my mind as I turned off my car and laid my head on the wheel. I stayed there for a few minutes. I chuckled to myself. "Ain't this grand?" He really had no idea why he said some of these things.

"Why do you say that?"

"HOLY SHIT!" I looked out the passenger window to see who was creeping on me. He was an average looking kid, maybe a little younger than me. Possibly sixteen? Either way it didn't give him a right to scare the crap out of me.

"Dude. Why are you in my driveway?" He started smiling and got a sort of twinkle in his eye. I didn't like the way it looked.

"Just trying to see if you'd be interested in an offer. But looking into your eyes, you probably won't remember this." The boy smiled
