Hi I had this chapter written for months but things happened. This is the last chapter. I am going to focus on Friends with Kids and maybe a few more point of views to Fantasy verses reality.
This is the last chapter it took me three years to write this sequel January 18 was the three year anniversary and if you include It Happened One Night 6 years. I wanted to post the chapter on the anniversary but life happened. I had a blast journey writing these two stories and my reviewers and those who favorite me and followed have given me joy. I want to thank you your encouragement and feedback has given me the strength to write.
I also want to thank my beta Ellie Gilmore for making this sequel flow better and helping me improve on my writing skills.
I will write RL stories but I won't write a sequel to Tears through the Abyss. It's my first story and I do love it, but I feel it ended well and I don't have the passion or idea on how to continue that story. However, if anyone wants to write a sequel, I am giving you the rights to my story. The only conditions I have are it for to be a Rogan and to have a happy ending.
As for this story, I am thinking of possibly writing some one shot of adventures these characters have in this verse. Like RL first Christmas.
A month passed since Logan had reached a deal with Mitchum. The rest of the trip had gone by smoothly and blissfully. They had no major arguments unless one count small ones like who was the better 80s child star Neal Patrick Harris or Corey Feldman and what place in Italy made the best espresso. Those arguments would often end with a kiss or an agreement that it was a tie. Still Rory and Logan enjoyed those discussions immensely along with everything else that they would do in each other company.
Emily also had a looser itinerary for the rest of the trip. Rory and Logan found out that there were fewer museum and monument tours. Rory felt it was because of three different reasons. Reason one could have been because Emily felt bad that Rory and Logan were almost going to spend the rest of the summer apart. The second reason because in her eyes Rory and Logan had behaved in a proper way. Lastly, Emily wanted to reserve private tours because she couldn't deal with who in her words couldn't tell a Fresco from a ferret hole and many places would conduct them. Nevertheless, Rory was grateful to have more quality time to spend with her boyfriend.
Rory could not believe that tomorrow that they were leaving Europe and going back to the states. Rory sighed in contend as she snuggled in Logan's arm in the lush goose down bed at the Saint Regis Grand Hotel.
"I love Yale but sometimes wish summer vacation could last forever," She said as she planted a kiss on Logan forehead.
Logan gave one of his charming smiles. "You mean to tell me Rory Gilmore doesn't miss studying, writing papers, and exams."
Rory rolled her eyes. "I don't love exams or the constant studying for them. I just love learning. I do love writing some papers but sometimes the rules of writing them are tedious and redundant. "
Logan pulled her closer. "I know what you mean. Would the world to an end if a paper on game theory wasn't double spaced or if the bibliography wasn't in APA or MLA format?"
Rory laughed. "I have a book on citing sources. You can borrow it if you ever have trouble on citing sources"
"Of course you do is there anything you don't have a book on" Logan chuckled.
Rory could not help smiling; she just loved the way he would smile when he was being playful. "Lots of things like The Hardy Boys..." Rory laughed.
Logan loved the way she would laugh he found it one of the most beautiful sounds in the world. "I guess you were more of a Nancy Drew Girl. I bet you could solve the mystery before the detective could."
"I think anybody could in Nancy Drew although there were some I could never see coming."Rory snuggled close to Logan. It never ceased to amaze her how they could talk a wide variety of subjects in a manner of minutes.
"Did you imagine when you saw me two years ago at that party did you imagine we would be together?" Rory asked half in jest and the other percent in utter seriousness.
"No but I couldn't imagine being together with anyone. What about you Rory?" He said looking at her nervously, he hated being honest with her at times.
"Nope, but I might have been biased because I didn't like your date." Rory teased.
"Well, I am not too fond of your exes so I don't hold it against you." Logan bit back.
"We all have a past Logan" Rory said exasperatedly and then found a more positive question to ask Logan.
"So when was the moment you realized that you really liked me." Rory asked curiously and eagerly.
"Well, I was always attracted to you and I always knew I cared about you differently than anyone else, but it was at prom that really sealed the deal. When we danced outside to Savage Gardens, I knew in that moment that I was so screwed." Logan smiled at the memory; he wished he wasn't such a fool in his sea of denial afterwards. "What about you Ace?"
Rory thought from after a long moment. "I guess I always liked you from the moment we shock hands outside Kyle's porch. However, it was prom night during our kiss, when I new I really liked you as well." She smiled remembering how her life changed the moment his intoxicating lips touched hers.
Logan smiled. "The kiss was pretty epic right?"
"Definitely but so are a majority of our kisses." She said as she softly kissed him
"I talked to Lane the other day she was ecstatic that we were together. She told me that she knew from when we helped her at Kyle's party that we were meant to be together"
"My friends were excited as well." Logan spoke softly as he played with her hair. He felt very fortunate that he found someone who could fit so well with his friends.
Rory smiled she loved Logan's friends. "Are you it's not because Colin and Finn get all the girls you've had on speed dial.
"No, Finn told me in his words that you're the only girl I have dated that is worth remembering..."
"Just what a girl wants to hear." She then kissed him sweetly and passionately.
You know I am a different person at Yale than in Europe. You might find my constant paper writing and all nighters a turn off. "
"Not a chance Ace. You're constant studying during your last month at Chilton wasn't a turn off. "
"Hey I told you I wanted to valedictorian based on merit"
Logan found her adorable when she was pouting. He stopped playing with her hair for a moment and then gave her a soft and gentle kiss on the lips. When he pulled away he softly told her. "I still find you sexy, when you're in study mode." Logan smirked.
"Really, you still like me after I spend nine hours studying in the library and I end up smelling like high lighter ink, ginger ale and Fritos"
"It's an aphrodisiac Ace" Logan smiled.
Rory loved that smile it just conveyed all the obvious adoration he had for her. She really believed that everyday she was falling harder for him.
"How about you what about when I come back a day at the gym. " Logan smirked.
"Well, lucky for you I do find the scent of sweat to be quite sexy." Rory teased and then smiled at Logan.
Logan smiled and then kissed her in a way that the whole world seemed to melt a way for a long moment.
When they finally pulled a way, Logan said a sentence he never thought he would say. "I know I don't like to think about the future but I can see you being my girlfriend for a really long time. Do you see it to Rory?
Rory was touched that Logan could see them lasting for a really long time. "Yes Logan I can see this relationship lasting for a really long time.
Two days later Rory, Logan, and Lorelai were walking into Luke's diner. Logan was surprised that let him come along because Logan believed Lorelai considered mother and daughter time to be sacred. However, he felt grateful that he was still able to spend as much time with Rory as possible. He found it weird that he would miss Rory even after being apart from her for only a minute.
Logan was trying to keep up with Lorelai was saying, she was entertaining but sometimes she talked a little to fast for his liking especially when excited. "Since I was deprived of your presence all summer, anything you want is on me. Pie, cake, pancakes, pan pie, cake pan, panacockin. Say the word or make one up. It's yours."
They all sat down. Logan put his arm around and Rory sighed. "Mom slows down. I think right now the chair feels good."
Lorelai smiled. "Yeah, a chair does feel good. You do really are sweet. I am glad things worked out for you too. However, I hope being together doesn't mean losing your appetite or thirst."
Rory chuckled. Not a chance, I think a root beer might be good. What would you like Logan.
Logan was to preoccupied by Rory to pay attention to what he wanted, so he quietly said. "I will have the same thing Ace."
"Root beer sounds good!" Lorelai waved her hands excitedly.
Luke appeared to have heard them and headed to their table. "It's on the house, so go crazy."
Logan observed that Lorelai's look at seeing Luke was the same one he would displayed towards Rory. "Luke!"
Luke. "Hey." He smiled at Lorelai with the same look he had that Lorelei was displaying to him. Rory was right those two were crazy about each other.
"Hi Rory welcome back." He smiled warmly.
"Thanks." Rory smiled clearly glad to see him.
Luke glanced at him and then got a look of protection. "I guess you must be Logan?' He said sternly.
"I am. It's nice to meet Rory always raves about this place." Logan said awkwardly.
"Well I am watching you buddy. If you hurt her you have to answer through me." Rory squeezed his hand.
Lorelai tried to ease the tension. "Luke he's a good guy, I trust him. Let's focus that you're here." She smacks him in the chest. "You're not a mirage."
Luke smiled warmly at her and he seemed to forget his past tension and protective feelings towards Logan. "I told you I was coming back."
"But you lied to me repeatedly for weeks, so your credibility's been shattered." Lorelai teased.
"I know. It's been seven weeks." Luke said apologetically.
Lorelai grinned and smacks him again. "Seven weeks."
Logan glanced at Rory he could tell she was enjoying this exchange and surprisingly he was to in a weird way they reminded him of him and Rory.
Luke chuckled nervously and looks at the ground before clearing his throat. "You know, I just remembered - I have an errand to run."
Lorelai looked at him skeptically and then got appeared to get it. "Oh, yeah?"
Luke then straightened up. "I got to go to the pharmacy. I'm gonna go now. He then glanced at Rory and Logan. "Lane's here. She'll bring you your root beers. " He then called out the order Lane.
Luke then awkwardly told Logan and the Gilmore girls. "So… I'll be back in a bit."
After Luke left Lorelai gazed out the window and turned to them. "Hey, you know, I just remembered - I have to go to Doose's to... pick something up. You need a banana or anything?"
"Were good mom, right Logan?" Rory asked with a smile on her face.
"Yeah we are." He replied not being sure what's going on.
"Okay thanks" Lorelai quickly rushed as fast as a woman in heels could.
"Okay what was that about?" Logan asked curiously Lorelai wouldn't leave so fast on an errand.
Rory laughed. "Logan that was their version of taking pictures, they want a meet up away from the nosy college couple."
Logan chuckled along with her. "Are you okay with them taking pictures?"
Rory smiled warmly at him. "I think it's time both Gilmore Girls are happy in relationships."
"Are you happy?" Logan asked even though the answer was obvious he still wanted to know.
"I am beyond happy ecstatic." They then had one of their epic long kisses not caring, who else was watching. He was very lucky that two years ago at a party he met the one girl, who makes him break free from the man he used to be.
Authors Note: The LL lines are from the 5.02 a Messenger Nothing More. I tweaked them as usual. Lane is supposed to be there as well but I felt she didn't fit into this sequence.
