Permanent.

She wanted something lasting, just once, something that would always be there. It was why she wanted to be an architect, so she could build something beautiful and magnificent and something so…so…permanent.

(A building for the ages.)

Her whole life had been a perfect antonym to that one dreaded word. And sometimes, it wasn't even that bad, like when she was on the run with Thalia and Luke. They never stayed in one place for long, but their group was together, they were a family.

(But not for long…)

But then, Thalia became a tree, and Luke drifted away, and her whole world was different.

(That's when he came into her life.)

Him. He was the exact opposite of stability. He was like the sea, warm and beautiful and changing, which only made sense. And she figured for once, she could learn to love with change. And over time, she did just that. She learned to live with change, and then she learned to love it. She still wanted something permanent, but who said she couldn't have something permanent with her seaweed brain?
And for a while, she was happy.

(But that didn't last long, now did it?)

And then he was gone, and her whole world came crashing down. He was gone, missing. He was gods knows where.
And all she wanted was for him to come back.

Wow...that sucked.
