Chapter 7-
A young 11 year old looking boy with shoulder length hair and bright blue eyes was sitting at a table set for six. But the plates and cups were empty, the candle in the candle holder in the middle of the table were unlit, and he was the only one at the table. He was leaning his elbows on the table, his hands were clasped in front of his mouth. He closed his eyes as he felt five merfolks swim into the room. "You are under arrest, under the orders of the new king, King Triton." One of the merfolk said as they pointed their spears at him.
The young boy slowly unclasped his hands and raised them in surrender. "If it will end this pointless war, than I will let Triton believe he has won. Too many innocent people have suffered because of this war." The boy said, his voice deep and powerful, showing that he was older and more powerful than he looked. A two of the guards carefully made their way over to him, as if afraid this was a trap and that he would attack. When the boy did nothing but sit there they grabbed his arms and held them behind his back.
"I do hope that Triton will be happy with his choice and that he gets everything that he deserves." The boy said as the guards forced him to stand up and drug him out of the deep cave he had been hiding in. He kicked his legs to propel him forward a little, making it easier on the guards dragging him. "John, how is your father? Is he well?" He asked one of the guards holding him.
"He is fine." John said feeling very awkward at the calm way the boy was talking to him, it was as if they were taking a stole together and not them dragging him to the castle.
"Ah, that's nice. Has your daughter gotten over that cold?" The boy asked.
"Yes, she's nice and well." John said and the boy nodded.
"And what about you, Kage? How is your little brother Iruka? I heard he had gotten into a bad accident, and now has a scar over his- is it his cheek?" The boy asked the other guard holding him.
"It's his nose and he is fine, healed up and has continued his work in the castle." Kage said stiffly.
"Oh, that's good. Did he receive my get well gift? You know, the sea-flowers that I heard he liked." The boy asked.
"Yes, he received them." Kage said, once again stiffly. The boy looked around at everyone and noticed how uncomfortable they all were.
"I'm sorry, am I making you all uncomfortable? I'll just shut up now." The boy said as they swam through the gates of the city. Mermaids of every kind stopped and stared, shocked at not only how young he looked but instead of having a tail like them, he had human legs. If it wasn't for the fact that he was still alive and his aura, everyone would have thought he was just another human boy.
The guards drug the boy through the front doors of the castle, and as they passed by a hallway the boy turned his head and locked eyes with a young 17 year old merman with a scar across his nose. Iruka was there, just as Kage had said. "No matter what path you choose, I hope you find happiness, Iruka." The boy said before he was drug into the thrown room.

Sun light hit Naruto's eyes, waking him from the strangest dream he had ever had. He sat up and rested his head in his hands and sighed. Either he had tried to put everything Iruka told him last night together to make since, or he had just remembered being captured and meeting Iruka. A knock sounded on his door and Naruto looked at it, knowing it was Iruka. "Come in." Naruto called and watched as Iruka walked in with and outfit thrown over his arm.
"Good morning, Naruto." Iruka said sitting the outfit down on bed before straightening up and smiled a sad smile at him. It would appear that Iruka was still blaming himself. Naruto slid out of the bed and walked over to a make-up desk that was sitting across from the bed, and allowed Iruka to brush his hair. It kind of surprised Naruto how easy it was for him to let someone take the role of servant from him. "How did you sleep last night, Naruto?"
"Did I say anything to you when I was brought to the castle?" Naruto asked causing Iruka to pause. Naruto looked used the mirror to see the shocked look in the man's face, "Please, I need to know if I told you anything the day I was captured."
"Y-you told me that you hoped I would find happiness." Iruka muttered and Naruto sucked in a breath.
"Tell me the exact words I told you." The man looked to be fighting with himself. "Please, it is important that I know the exact words I told you."
"You said 'No matter what path you choose, I hope you find happiness, Iruka." Iruka whispered. And Naruto bowed his head, "Naruto?"
"I remember." He whispered to the man before lifting his head up to look at the shocked man through the mirror, "I remember the night I was brought in. I had human legs then, didn't I?"
"Yes." Iruka said.
"What am I, Iruka?" Naruto asked tears in his eyes,
"I don't know. I wish I knew, Naruto, if only to ease your burden." Iruka told him as he pulled Naruto into a hug. "You will get through this, I'll make sure of it." The two hugged for a long time before slowly pulling away and continued to get Naruto ready for this tour with Sasuke.

Naruto smiled, blushing, as he allowed Sasuke to help him into a horse drawn carriage, fighting the urge to tug at the shirt he was wearing. "From what I can see already, Prince Sasuke, your kingdom is beautiful." They hadn't even made it out of the court yard, but Naruto was amazed by everything in it. Sasuke laughed a deep, rich laugh as he situated himself as close to Naruto as he could.
"I thank you, and please, just call me Sasuke." Sasuke said looking deep into Naruto's eyes causing the boy to blush.
"Oh, but I cannot, I am just a lowly servant." Naruto whispered looking away form Sasuke's eyes when something in the back of his mind whispered that perhaps he hadn't been a lowly servant at one point. Naruto's eyes flashed back over to Sasuke when he felt the other gently take hold of his hand and lift it.
"Oh, but it would please me so if you were to call me Sasuke." Sasuke said before placing a kiss on Naruto's knuckles, causing Naruto's mind to spaz out. Naruto nodded seemingly in daze causing Sasuke to smile triumphantly. Naruto's mind restarted when the carriage began to move.
When they got to the village Naruto was speechless, everything was so bright and magnificent, it seemed the village was celebrating something. Naruto was happy that Sasuke was so patient with him, for he made them stop and look, taste, or touch at anything and everything Naruto could. In the village square stood a beautiful and large marble statue of a giant, nine tailed fox. Looking at the statue, Naruto felt a tug somewhere in his soul, he knew this fox. An image of a handsome man with long fire red hair, yellow eyes with slit pupils and the whites of his eyes pitch black, wearing a black and red kimono appeared in his mind.
"Kurama." Naruto muttered and Sasuke glanced at him.
"That's right, this statue of the Kyuubi no Kitsune known as Kurama. It was said that he watched over this land while his younger brother watched over the seas, protecting and watching over us and the creatures of the sea." Sasuke told Naruto who looked away from the statue to stare at him with eyes full of wander.
"Do they still watch over everyone?" Naruto asked and Sasuke shrugged.
"Who knows, some people believe so." Sasuke said.
"You don't?" Naruto asked.
"If Kurama and his brother truly exists, then why did they disappear." Sasuke said and Naruto titled his head in confusion. "Legend says that the siblings would often join the people of this village often, blessing bondings, helping with births, singing songs and dancing with the villagers, and then suddenly, they were gone. No one knows why. But once a year the village throws a celebration in hopes that they will be back." Naruto looked back to the statue deep in thought before the sound of drums pulled him from his thoughts.
Naruto looked around and noticed most, if not all, of the villagers filling the village square and began a slow, tribal looking dance. Naruto watched as a young girl of about 4 pull Sasuke to join them, Naruto flashed a smile of encouragement to the other before being pulling into the dance himself by a young woman. At first Naruto was worried he would mess up or trip and fall, having no memory of ever dancing before, but he didn't have anything to be worried about. As Naruto allowed young woman to lead him for a few minutes, something in him clicked, as soon leaping, jumping, and twirling as if he had been doing so his entire life.
Sometime during the dance, Naruto and Sasuke wound up with each other, and Naruto couldn't help the smile that found its way onto his face. He was having the time of his life and soon Naruto found himself opening his mouth to sing. As he sang, Naruto never noticed the water in the river that ran through the village began to rise and lower in depth, as if singing with him. Not did he notice the small fox, Kyuubi, sitting in the shadow watching him with bright yellow eyes.
