I do not own Shugo Chara and its characters. Thank ARocks11 for pushing for this epilogue. Her plea was too adorable to pass up.
"Who knew that there was anything behind that dense pink head of yours?" A snarky blonde sneered at her friend with the remarkable bubblegum pink hair.
The tall celebrity and the long-legged medical student idly sipped their vanilla lattes in an obscure café. Other than them, an elderly man and his wife were the only customers.
"Utau." Amber eyes glared a warning to violet eyes. "I'm not a medical student because I'm smart. I aim to be a medical researcher because…"
"Because you don't want other children to die because they lack money. We all know, Amu. You don't want them to suffer the way you did," Utau recited.
"Oh, dear, suffering a life with pink hair?" A mocking, velvety voice feigned sympathy. "Not such a horrible fate." As he plopped into the chair next to his girlfriend, he snatched her drink with a smirk.
"True. It wasn't that bad after I met you, Ikuto," Said Amu, looking directly into his eyes. Utau was about ready to shower chunks.
"Oh, really?" Ikuto leaned in suggestively.
"Yup, don't you agree, Utau?" Already, the asked girl was shaking her head vigorously. "A fate with blue hair makes pinkies really grateful. Ikuto, how do you live with such a horrible fate?" In a very unlady-like way, Utau spit out her latte with bursts of laughter.
"Amu, oh, how you have changed?" The azure-eyed violinist of great height chuckled. "I just want to marry you right now. Too bad, I'll have to wait until the end of the semester. You have planned it all, right, Utau." Amu's face flared different shades of red.
"Of course I have. With all the ample amount of time you gave me, I have booked you—nothing. Ikuto, I never told you I was going to plan anything. I'll be leaving now. I'm late for my recording already." Right as she finished, she was already out the door, leaving the soon-to-be-wedded couple alone.
"We are not getting married right after graduation," Amu spat her declaration of war at her supposed fiancé.
"What? But, you agreed," Her self-proclaimed fiancé said vehemently.
"If you look back at us, we were just teenagers, simply dreaming out a future. I will still marry you, but we have to at least finish graduate education," She tried to reason with him.
"It took me so long to get your father's permission. You know how many errands I did for him?" Ikuto seethed, angering Amu.
"Nakamura Yuu, really? Well, then, marry him!" She shot back.
"You're the only one I want to marry. We've waited four years, haven't we? We already live together. What's so wrong about proclaiming to the entire world that we both love each other? What are you so afraid of?" The feline-like man said.
"We are not having this fight," Amu stated, folding her arms.
"Do you remember the Amu that would love shamelessly and dream big?" Ikuto with his dynamic, musical heart asked.
"She was a child. I'm like you now—mature and level-headed."
"You know you shouldn't be like me. I feel like I'm losing you." His hand moved to caress her face, but she turned her face away from it defensively.
"Why? You don't want me to be on your same level. You want to be superior over me, while I'm not ever good enough for you." Big tears rolled down her cheeks, as she rubbed them away roughly.
"Amu, no, it's not that." As his knees hit the ground, his arms found their place around her. "I love you for your big dreams."
"You're treating me like a child!" Amu shoved him off her, and ran out of the café in search of her sister Ami.
Am I Not Allowed to Love?
"Can you believe him, Nakamura?!" An aggravated pink head said, throwing her hands in the air.
"Well, you did say yes. Gotta learn one day that you can't go around accepting marriage proposals you have no intention on sealing, Amu," The older pink-haired man said with a cluck of his tongue.
The father and daughter were seated in his office looking over the busy streets. Seated behind his desk, a brunette was moaning about all the paperwork.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't notice that any of you were inheriting a multi-million dollar corporation. Oh, wait, that's me." Ami glared at the two over her stacks of paperwork.
"I'm sorry, honey." A fatherly apologetic smile warmed his face.
"Wedding problems top inheriting a business, Ami." Amu spat a challenge towards her twin sister. Her amber eyes shot lasers into Ami's stony brown eyes.
"I thought there wasn't going to be a wedding with all that whining and groaning over there." Ami smirked back. Amu, at a loss of words, growled primitively in response.
"Girls, please." Nakamura interrupted the two's glaring contest. Unfortunately, they directed their death glares at him.
Just as things were heating up, a knock at the door resounded through the room. Nakamura sighed in relief, but the two girls were ready to stage a cat-fight right then and there.
"Excuse me. It's Nagi. I'm here for Uma." A long plum haired boy allowed himself into the room. Despite the embarrassing name, Amu lit up and sprang to his side.
"Great, you can take over from here. I don't think I was doing well in the father department. I'll be leaving for a meeting now. Come along, Ami." With that, the former CEO and the new CEO walked out of the room, using a side door.
"Kukai told me to check up on you. Utau and Ikuto are throwing their anger at him." Nagi chuckled, remembering it all.
"Ugh! Let's stop talking about them. How are you and Rima? Has she warmed up to the idea of moving in with you?" Amu asked, leading him to the elevator.
"Well, there's been progress. She's stopped throwing things at me." His smile faltered a moment.
"Just give her time. She's bound to come around." Amu cheered him on, as the elevator doors closed behind them.
"I guess that's the same with you and Ikuto." Her best friend grinned hopefully. Amu giggled and rolled her eyes at his lame attempt.
"He's given me everything but time." She said.
"What are you going to do next time you see him?" He said cautiously, backing away slowly.
"Probably strangle him." She replied immediately, alarming him.
"You're kidding, right?" Nagi exclaimed nervously.
"Maybe, what's wrong with that?" Amu smile malevolently.
"Other than a few mere laws," He said shakily, "I think a dead body in an elevator wouldn't be a good reputation starter for your sister."
"What?!" Right as she said that, the elevator doors opened to show her said victim. Nagi slipped past him and threw an apologetic smile her way, before running out of her reach. A growling Amu started towards him, but Ikuto had already pressed the close button.
"You know this elevator is going to open soon, you perverted blue neko." Amu snapped at him, folding her arms.
"Yeah, but not soon." Ikuto pressed the stop button and moved his body in front of it.
"So you're a kidnapper, now?" She flicked her pink hair.
"Nope, I've just locked myself into an elevator with someone who happened to be there." He shrugged.
"What do you want, Ikuto?" Amu groaned.
"I want you." He stated with love in his eyes.
"No, I am not going to fall for those words!" She stuffed herself in a corner of the elevator.
"You're not supposed to. You're supposed to fall for me."
"Wow, this is the way you want to go about it."
"I love you, Amu. I know you do—"
"I do, but that doesn't mean to get married as fast as possible." Amu defended herself.
"I understand that, and you don't have to. I'm sorry for pushing this onto you. I'm just scared of losing you. I don't want to go off overseas for a concert and come back to see you wrapped in another guy's arms." His hand combed shakily through his hair.
"Where am I right now?" Amu asked him, edging closer to him.
"Locked in an elevator against your will." Ikuto blatantly said.
"With who?" She urged more.
"Your kidnapper." He answered.
"You can say such romantic words, but how can you not get it?" The young med student laughed.
"I think you'll have to spell it out for me," He whispered with a smirk.
"I love you, and I allow myself to fall deeper in love with you everyday."
The Official End. Thanks for reading. I barely made it in time for my deadline with ARocks11. Kinda rushed, but that's because I had about an hour until the next month.
