It only took Sam four hours to find him.

Not long enough for Dean's legs to cramp up.

Not long enough for the cuffs to leave marks.

Not even long enough to start making a long-term survival plan.

So, there's no reason for Dean's fingers to clamp into Sam's sleeve.

"I'm not scared."

"I know."

No reason to let Sam manhandle him, tip his head back, swab at his bruised nose.

"I'm not crying."

"I know."

And definitely no reason to let Sam's hand stay on his shoulder all the way home.

"I'm okay."

"I know."

No reason at all.
