After A One Night Stand Chapter 13

Omg! :O I'm really sorry I haven't updated in SO long, I've been so busy and suffering from a really bad case of writer's block. I still want to finish this story but I'm just losing ideas for this fic so any suggestions are welcome also. :)

Harry honestly didn't know what to do anymore. He felt empty and hopeless. Draco left a massive hole in his heart and didn't even seem to care.

It had been a week and Harry hadn't left his house, quit his job, and had barely eaten anything. He knew his best friends were getting extremely worried, but he just wanted to be alone and wallow in his own self pity. He was lucky to get a few hours of sleep each night, but he no longer cared about anything. All he could ever think about was his ex, Draco Malfoy, and how he broke his heart and left him with nothing but emptiness.

The pain was unbearable and he couldn't believe his ex lover would do such a thing.

Harry opened his eyes every morning wishing he didn't. It was just pain and torture, and he felt awful both physically and mentally.

Every day was spent hoping for Draco to return, but he didn't. Harry didn't know where he was or what he was doing. All he knew was that his heart was broken.

"Honestly, you're better off without him, mate. Malfoy would probably be a terrible father anyway," Ron told him, hoping it would cheer Harry up a bit. It didn't.

Harry shot him a venomous glare. "No offence, but what the fuck do you know about it, Ron?! You're only saying that based off of the hatred you had for him at school."

Hermione stayed silent and chose not to scold Harry for his language. She could understand why he was so angry.

Ron flushed and looked away from his friend. "Sorry," he mumbled.

It was silent for a few moments, before Ron decided to speak up again.

"Why are you trying to defend him anyway? He left you."

Ron avoided eye contact with Harry, expecting him to shout at him again.

"I know." Harry sighed. "But that doesn't change the fact that I still love him."

Hermione and Ron looked sympathetically at him, not knowing what else to say.

"You have us to help you, we'll always be here," Hermione spoke softly after a minute of uncomfortable silence.

Harry tried to force a weak smile at her. He knew she was only trying to help. "I know, thank you."

Hermione sat closer to him and gently placed a hand on his shoulder. "That's what best friends are for."

Harry was still fuming at Draco and wanted nothing more than to punch his face in. What a coward. The great Draco Malfoy can't seem to face up to his responsibilities and accept that he's going to be a father now.

How did I let this happen? And why, oh why, did I sleep with that pathetic excuse for a man? The worse part of it all, is that I've fallen deeply in love with him.

Harry could feel the tears building up in his eyes and tried desperately to blink them away. He didn't ask for this and neither did Draco, but at least he was willing to step up and be a father.

'I suppose it's a lot easier for him. He's not the one carrying it for nine fucking months and then giving birth to it,' he thought to himself angrily.

Harry didn't regret his child, but he did regret ever sleeping with his former enemy, Draco. He looked down and could see his bump was getting a lot bigger and it wouldn't be long till it was time to give birth. He chose not to find out what the sex of the child was, instead leaving it to be a surprise. And every time he visited Ron's family, he was always greeted by a very enthusiastic Molly Weasley, who insisted on fussing around him. He always received questions like, 'have you been getting enough sleep?', and, 'have you been eating enough?'. It was nice to know she cared, but sometimes it was a little over the top and he needed some space sometimes. Hermione also did her fair share of constantly worrying about him and the baby.

After another week of moping around and feeling sorry for himself, Harry had made a decision. He was going to confront Draco at Malfoy Manor about why he was being such a fucking coward, to put it simply. He just hoped that Draco was still there and hadn't left to go somewhere else. So, without informing Ron or Hermione about his decision, he set off and Apparated outside the Manor. Harry keeled over as soon as he reached his destination. It normally made him feel sick anyway, but being pregnant made it a whole lot worse. After a few minutes of thinking he was going to throw up, he straightened himself up and headed towards the gate. Luckily, the gate was left open so Harry could just slip through it and made his way to the big, front door.

At first, Harry wasn't sure whether to go back or not. Or whether this was a good idea or a bad one.

'Come on, where's your Gryffindor courage?' he thought to himself in annoyance.

He slowly brought his fist up and rapped on the door. For quite a while, there was no answer. Harry was getting angry now. He knocked louder and waited rather impatiently, tapping his foot on the stone steps. Finally, the door opened. It was pulled open slowly and a little head appeared from behind the door.

"Who is it?" The familiar voice called softly.

Harry rolled his eyes. "Come on, Draco. Even you can't be that thick."

Ignoring the insult, the door opened a bit more and the blond man's eyes widened. "W-what are you d-doing here?" He stammered nervously.

Harry shot daggers at Draco and took a step forward. "Enough time for niceties, you know why I'm here."

Draco tried to shut the door, but was stopped immediately by Harry's foot blocking it. "I don't think so, Draco. We need to talk."

"Go away, I've got nothing to say to you."

Harry laughed bitterly. "Well that's bloody funny, isn't it? Because I've got plenty to say to you."

Draco gulped and averted his eyes from Harry and his bump, suddenly finding the floor rather interesting. There was silence for a few long moments.

"Trust me, you're both better off without me," he whispered sadly.

"Do you honestly believe that? You think this baby doesn't need you?"

Draco said nothing and continued to look away from the raven-haired man standing in front of him.

"You're wrong," Harry said firmly and took another step foward, his anger dying down slightly. "We both need you."

"Please, just leave." Draco tried to shut the door again, but Harry had had enough. He pushed himself past Draco and into the Manor, shutting the door behind him.

"I'm not going anywhere. Not until we've had a little... discussion about this."

Draco looked like a frightened deer standing in front of the headlights. Harry was slightly surprised at this and wondered why Draco looked so afraid.

"Please, just give me an explanation as to why you left me. I need to know why you don't want to be in our lives."

Draco turned his back to Harry and crossed his arms over his chest. "I just don't."

"Not good enough," Harry hissed, his anger starting to return. When Draco didn't reply, he added in a soft voice, "I know you still love me."

Draco shook his head and Harry's heart skipped a beat. "I do, it's just...," He sighed and trailed off.

"It's just what?" Harry pressed. He was getting more and more nervous each second that passed.

"I'm scared, alright? There, I said it," Draco said angrily, his voice raised slightly.

Harry still couldn't see Draco's face as he remained with his back facing him. "Draco, look at me. Please."

It took a minute or so before Draco eventually turned around to look Harry in the eyes. Harry was slightly taken aback by this, as he could see that Draco was on the verge of tears.

Harry stepped closer to him and carefully cupped his pale cheeks with his hands. They were now mere inches apart. "You don't think I'm scared, too? You don't think that I'm absolutely terrified? Well, I am. I can't stop thinking about what kind of father I will be, and whether I will be a good one or not. But I'm going to try. I'm going to try my hardest, and that's the best we can hope for. That you try."

A few tears fell from his eyes and were wiped away by Harry's thumbs. "I'm so scared, Harry. I don't want to end up being like my own father. I wouldn't wish that on anyone."

"And you won't be," came Harry's immediate reply. "You're nothing like him, Draco. I promise you."

They stood there in silence for a few more minutes, holding each other close.

To be continued...

This fic is coming nearer to an end now, I'm determined to finish it. Better late than never haha. xD
