Alita's POV:

I sat up & stretched. I guess I must have fallen asleep for a little bit on the sofa in the Hermitage. I glanced at the window, trying to get an idea of how long I had dozed off. It was bright & sunny outside.

Which means I had probably slept the entre night...

"Oh no!" I said as I quickly got my stuff together, grabbing my winter gear & school stuff & ran out the door…into what was easily a foot of snow. I was already in trouble from missing curfew, now I'd be late for class as well!

Wait a minute.

I had started to trek through the snow when I remembered. Kadic was closed for winter break, which was why I was staying at the Hermitage. All of last night's details came back to me. I had been watching the first snow fall out the window & must have fallen asleep.

After all, I had always loved the snow.

"Daddy! Daddy!" I cried, running into his bed room. "It snowed last night! Can I go outside? Please!"

"…What time is it?" my father asked.

"7:05."

He groaned. "Let's have breakfast first, & then we can get dressed & go outside…"

"Yay!"

"Do you think this one will work, Daddy?" I asked, holding onto the top hat we had bought. I loved the story of Frosty the Snowman, & was desperately trying to find the hat mentioned in the song.

"Let's put it on & find out." he said, lifting me up so I'd be able to put it on the snowman's head.

Nothing happened.

"Darn." I said.

"Well, it still looks good on him, doesn't it?" my dad said, trying to make me feel better. "C'mon, why don't we go inside & have some hot chocolate?"

"Ok…"

I stepped back & admired my work. It was a lot easier to build a snowman when you were actually tall enough to build one of a decent height…

I headed back inside to try & find some stuff for the snowman's face. I hadn't exactly planned for this when I had bought my groceries for the week. When I got inside, I saw that I must not have closed the closet door all the way in my rush…but that's when I saw them.

My father's scarf & ski jacket were still hanging there.

I took them out gently & brought them outside, carefully dressing the snowman in them. I took a step back to see how it looked. I tried to tell myself that my eyes were watering from the cold air.

"Happy Holidays, Dad."

I actually have a holiday special done in time for the holidays! It's a miracle!

Of course, the fact that I actually accomplished this means that somebody, somewhere will probably get hit with a blizzard…Sorry about that…lol

Please review, & have a very happy holiday!
