My Happy Ending

I'm not the only one. Raguna's name could practically be defined as heartbreak. A flock of women seem to fall for him wherever he goes, and since he's such a good guy he could only pick one. He just happened to choose my love, is all.

I'd loved Mist for years, and he just wandered into town and won her over in a few short months. If Mist thinks she'll be happier with him then fine. Whatever. She can run off and marry him in some dumb whale town if she wants. Rosetta cried for days when Raguna left to chase after her.

She got over it, though. She went after him too, but since she came back she's been talking about some Danny kid she's got working for her and how he's so stubborn and kind of cute and if he'd only work harder. All the things she used to say about her dad, just phrased for a boy her own age instead of a parent.

Mist and Raguna are married, she told us. His latest harem, which still included Tabatha, Bianca. Lara, and Melody, was devastated. Tori left to congratulate and get over him, and Camus left to 'comfort' Melody. Why not? Apparently some farmer friend of Raguna's got a mail girl on the rebound.

Rosetta still travels back and forth between Kardia and that dumb whale place. She says Tori ended up marrying 'an equally quiet carpenter she hadn't even realized lived in town.' From what I heard I thought they made a good pair, but Mom threw a conniption fit.

I tried talking to Felicity about it, and Sharron, and even Mei, though she had no time for me. They all nodded and said something about having accepted it long ago and having had time to move on. Felicity was even traveling since there were apparently no good men left in town.

I hadn't dared think of it. I'd clung to my fantasies of Mist and I. I'd been hoping she'd come back to me when Raguna fell for any of the other twenty some girls that seemed to swoon around him. I had refused to give up on my happy ending, and now I didn't have any.
