Chapter 10: Amusement Park

Madoka quickly made her way to her room after a nice long bath in the morning. Why would she be up in the morning though it's Sunday? That's because she already promised Yui to go with her to an Amusement Park. Yui won a 5 premium ticket to the Amusement Park the other day. She planned on inviting Madoka, Dunamis, Kyouya and Benkei but since Benkei is busy with his business, Yui had to invite Ryuuga...or more like dragging him along.

Madoka quickly dress herself up and pose herself in front the mirror. She needed to make sure that she didn't look sloppy and when she's satisfied with her appearance, she made her way to the living room. As she walked down the stairs, she saw Ryuuga sitting at the couch. She could see how pissed he looked right now. She knew that Ryuuga is not a morning person and he certainly didn't like the idea of having to follow them to the amusement park.

"Um, Ryuuga?" Madoka call out to him. Ryuuga turn around to face her and Madoka jump a little when she saw him giving her his famous deadly glare. It's not really her fault that he was forced to come along. It was Yui after all that forced him to come with them. But then, she understood why he didn't like the idea of following them to an amusement park. They'll be many people gather there and Ryuuga never liked staying amongst a crowd.

"Hey, I know you didn't like this whole idea of going to an amusement park but think of it as...uh, to ease your boredom." she tries to convience him so that he would be willing to go but in the end, she only got a curious expression from him. After that, he looked away. Madoka sigh and made her way beside him on the couch.

"How about this? When we get home, I promise that I'll cook your favorite food tonight." as soon as she said that, Ryuuga turn around with a blank expression.

"Deal." he said. He sat up and made his way to the front door, leaving Madoka dumbstruck. Well, that was quick, she thought and smile to herself.

"What are you smiling at?" a voice interupt her thoughts as she turn around to see her green-hair friend right behind the couch with both his arms crossed.

"Nothing. It's just that I've finally convinced Ryuuga to just come with us without any more protest." she told him, smiling. Kyouya just chuckle and glance over at Ryuuga, standing in front of the door and waiting to move out.

"Now that we're all ready, let's go meet them." Madoka made her way to the front door and locks it when the three of them went out of the house. They decided to meet up at a cafe nearby and eat some breakfast before going to the amusement park. Madoka could see from afar that Yui and Dunamis were waiting for them. Dunamis looked calm and normal as if nothing bothered him but Yui on the other hand, looked somehow she was depressed...or maybe just pissed off.

"Is it me or does it looks like Yui is in the mood to kill someone?" Kyouya whisper to the other two near him. Madoka nod her head lightly while Ryuuga looked like he doesn't care.

As the trio got closer to the duo, they could feel Yui's deadly aura. If they could, they wanted to run away from her but somehow her glare only made them froze on the spot. To make it even worse for them, Yui is heading towards them.

"YOU. GUYS. ARE. LATE." Yui said, pressing each words at them. Madoka had to jerk back since Yui's face was so near that if she haven't done so, their heads might bump with each other.

"What's so late about it? There's plenty of time before the amusement park opens." Kyouya said. Yui pulled back and glare at him.

"You have no idea about the whole thing that I've planned so hard..." Yui mumble to herself. The trio all had a confused expression when Yui mumble something just now.

"Speak louder. We can't hear you." after that Kyouya said that, Yui snapped.

"I said that if you guys are late, we won't make it in time! Do you have any idea that if we ate now, we might miss the train? Not to mention that this day is the official day where the amusement park is opened! And do you know what that means!?" she asked them, still putting up with her glare.

"Uh..." Madoka didn't know what to say and just let it hangs until Yui just cut her off and continues on.

"It means that the train might be full! To make it worse, we might not be able to board the first train! And if that goes on and on and on with the second and third train, we won't even be able to witness the grand opening of the amusement park!" after a long explaination, Yui suddenly tear up like a little child who had lost her toy. Her actions made the trio sweatdrop and just look at each other with bothered expression.

While Madoka tried to make Yui calm down, she made an even bigger tantrum like a little kid despite her old age before resuming to tear up again while stating that her whole plan won't go as planned.

"For a 24 year old woman, she sure knows how to act like a child." Ryuuga state, still bothered by the older woman's actions.

"That's Yui for you. Always surprises people no matter what." this time, Dunamis said. Ryuuga just let out a little sigh. Kyouya on the other hand, was getting annoyed with Yui's actions.

"If that really bothers you then let's just skip breakfast!" Kyouya shout at her.

"Are you kidding me!? Do you know how early I woke up just so that we could eat before we go!? I'm hungry for God's sake!" Yui shout back at Kyouya.

"Actually, you didn't sleep at all." Dunamis pointed out.

"Shut up!"

"Okay, okay." Dunamis said with smile.

"Is that true?" Madoka ask the purple-hair man beside her. Dunamis just nod his head as a reply.

"Whatever! The point right now is that I don't want to skip breakfast no matter what!" Yui state, crossing her arms, eyes close and turning her head away from the group. Madoka, Dunamis and Ryuuga just let out a sigh while Kyouya just shook his head. He was tired of arguing with the older woman.

"Then just order a take-out then." Kyouya said simply. Silence envelops the whole group.

"Hey, good idea. Let's do that! Come on Madoka. You're coming with me." with that, Yui drag Madoka with her into the cafe with eyes twinkling, leaving the boys outside, shocked especially Kyouya.

"Well that was a surprising turnaround." Dunamis said and Ryuuga just nod lightly while Kyouya was left speechless.

"Alright, the train is here. Come on! We'll miss it if we're late." Yui said as she pulled Madoka along. Madoka just let herself be pulled by the older woman into the train. The boys went in soon after them. Madoka saw an empty seat near the train door and made her way to it. Yui sat beside her which is even more nearer the train door. Ryuuga lean on one of the railings. Kyouya and Dunamis stood near both Madoka and Yui since almost all the seat in the train has been occupied. When the train began to move, Madoka let out a sigh.

Looking around to see her friends' faces, she could see how Yui's expression suddenly turn sour. She knew immediately that it was because of the people in train. Yui wasn't good in blending in with crowded people. Dunamis looked completely fine with the crowd as well as Ryuuga. Well, mostly because he was glaring at people all the time that no one wants to stand near him.

When she looked at Kyouya, he was just spacing out. After staring at him for almost 1 minute, he finally noticed her stare. Madoka just smile and he immediately look away. The two didn't even realized that they were being observed by Yui the whole time. Slowly a sly smile crept up her face.

It was a long ride and they finally arrived at the station where they were heading. Yui was the one that shows her relief the most when they got out of the train.

"FINALLY! Oh my god, that was a nightmare..." she let out a big sigh.

"I have to say, it is uncomfortable to be in that train with so many people..." Kyouya agreed followed by the other's nod.

"Alrighty then, now that we're here, let's focus on what we were planning to come here in the first place. Onward guys, to the Amusement Park!" Yui command before running out from the station by herself, leaving the rest sweatdrop at her actions. Everyone just let out a sigh as they followed her from behind.

The place was crowded as it was the grand opening. Yui was the most excited amongst their group. Madoka had to make sure she doesn't wander too far away or there will be a problem.

"Alright, since we're here, let's decide which one should we go first?" Yui asked the group.

"I'm fine with anything as long as we stick together." Madoka smile. Yui grin at her answer as she was glad that Madoka was being cooperative. The others however,

"I'm not sure if the attractions are my thing or not but let's just look around." Dunamis said as he went passed Yui to look around.

"I'm tired. Can we rest?" Ryuuga followed behind Dunamis as he went towards the nearest bench.

"If you're planning on taking all of us to some girly place like THAT," Kyouya point towards the Merry-Go-Round, "I'll kill you."

Yui could only stare at them with an unreadable expression. Just when she was about to blow out her anger, she quickly cool herself down and kept reminding herself that today is where she put all her plans to actions. With that in mind, she grin and chuckle softly.

Madoka could only look at Yui with a very bad feeling forming inside her head with the others sweatdrop on her actions.

"Alright, alright. Since you BOYS are so dead serious of not going on Merry-Go-Round, I've decided we'll be going to certain attractions that suits for all of us." Yui showed to them the map of the attractions that has been scribbled by Yui with only the attractions they will go in circle.

Madoka could only see for a moment what will they take such as the Go Kart, Roller Coaster and Mirror Maze before Yui folded the map and puts away. She suspected that Yui must have circled the Haunted House as well but hopefully she's not. Hopefully...

"Now then, let's go to the first attraction. Roller Coaster!" as soon as she said that, she speeds off to where the Roller Coaster is.

"Y-Yui! Don't leave us!" Madoka call out as she chase after her.

"And she said to stick together all the time..." Kyouya mutter under his breath before going after her with everyone. When they arrived, they could see Yui already halfway in line.

"You guys are so slow! Hurry up!" she shout over when she saw them.

"That was too fast!"

Even so, they join with her as they wait for their turn. When it was finally their turn, Yui was getting excited.

"Oh my god, this excitement is killing me! So Madoka, you'll sit with me right?" Yui ask and Madoka just nod her head. Yui look at the boys and smirk, "You boys can think of the seating yourself~"

"Whatever..." Kyouya mutter.

Once they were on the roller coaster, Madoka could see that Kyouya sat with Dunamis behind her and Yui while Ryuuga sat alone behind Kyouya. It was then the roller coaster started moving and went up the rails. Yui couldn't sit properly as she was too excited for the fall. Dunamis was asking questions regarding the roller coaster at Kyouya while Ryuuga, well, he sleeps. As soon as they stopped right at the top of the rail, Madoka suddenly felt like there is a tight knot in her stomach.

"Why do I feel like this was a BIG mistake?" Madoka mutter. Seeing Yui's grin just confirms it. It is a big mistake.

"I'm never riding it again! NEVER!" Madoka cries. As soon as the ride ends, Madoka didn't waste time in leaving the ride and went to a nearby bench to calm her heart. How she even manages to walk after experiencing that ride is a mystery. And now she's here, on a bench, tearing up at the thought of that horrible moment.

"Man, how can you not feel the excitement?" Yui ask her.

"AND HOW CAN YOU NOT GET SCARED?!" Madoka retorts.

"I live for excitement," she said and show a peace sign. Seeing Madoka tearing up again, Yui just let out a sigh and pet her head, calming her down. "There, there. You poor little girl. Are you okay now?" Madoka looks up and dry her eyes before nodding.

"Good! 'Cause we're going to ride it again~!"

"Eh?" Madoka froze.

"Hm? Whoa, why is your face all pale? You okay?"

"Read the freaking situation!" Kyouya exclaimed while knocking Yui's head.

"Okay, okay, I get it. No more extreme rides. I promise." Yui said. Madoka eyes her suspiciously. Well, not only her but Kyouya as well.

"Aww, come on. You don't believe me? We already ride it so we're not gonna do it again."

"But you looked like you enjoyed it. If you want to ride it again, we can wait for you," Dunamis said.

"Psshh, it's fine. Riding it with you guys is enough. Plus, it's not the same if I went alone." Yui decline the offer.

"Really?" Kyouya ask.

"You know what, let's just go," Yui, too tired to bother them, especially Kyouya and just went towards to the next attraction. Looking back at the group, she points her index finger at Kyouya. "Just so you know, I will have my payback on what you did." she said as she rub the part of her head where Kyouya just knocked her. Kyouya just rolled his eyes as he follows her from behind with the others.

"So, what's the next place we're going Yui?" Madoka ask. As soon as that question left her mouth, Yui's eyes twinkle in excitement.

"Glad you ask Madoka~! We're going to the Mirror Maze." Yui said. She then lean closer to her ear as she whisper, "By the way, this might be a bit different from any other Mirror Maze, so just don't be surprise by it okay~?"

Letting out a sigh, Madoka could only pray that nothing bad is going to happen. Which ended up horribly wrong.

Apperently, this Mirror Maze has the largest and biggest space than any Mirror Maze she had seen. Plus, the path is pretty straightforward and not that confusing. The problem is she got lost. After all, it was spacious and confusing. Not to mention she had bump against the mirrors for several times. After getting stuck inside the maze for almost 30 minutes, she finally got outside the maze with the help of Yui.

"Remind me to let someone accompany you if we went in there again." Yui state and Madoka could only nod her head in shame. Not wasting any time, the group went to the next attraction.

After spending most of the times going to the attraction and trying some of the rides, Madoka was grateful for having the chances of hanging out with her friends after such a long time and it was a fresh feeling. It felt nice to be able to go out like this once in a while. Although it was fun going to all the rides, Madoka decided to stay out from the Go-Kart ride with Dunamis. One of the reason was she's too tired. Another reason was, she's not good with rides that focus on speed. Just like what happened to her before.

"I don't want to remember that roller coaster disaster..." she mutter. Dunamis who sat beside her, looked at her, confused.

"Did you say something?" he ask and Madoka turn to the side to face him.

"No, it's nothing. Just thinking back about the first ride," she said and Dunamis lets out a chuckle.

"Well, I'll say. It was pretty interesting." he said. Madoka look up to see the line to the Go-Kart ride only to find out her other 3 friends already got in.

"It looks like they got in already. Want to take a closer look?" she ask when suddenly she felt a hand holding her down by the shoulder.

"I think it's better if we just let them have their fun time. Besides, I think it's good to let her enjoy the moment while it last. It's been a while since I last saw her this happy," he said and Madoka slowly sat back to her seat, looking at her friends.

That last sentence lingers in her mind for a while. When was the last time she saw Yui this happy? All the times she spent together with Yui shows the serious and teasing side of her but now, what happens in front of her is something new. Something that she never noticed. It was a refreshing feeling. Somehow, seeing how happy Yui looked right now made her smile too.

The sound of the alarm signaling the start of the race, rang throughout the whole Go-Kart area. Even though her eyes couldn't catch up to the speed of the vehicle, she could see just how fun Yui is having right now.

"I guess you're right. She looked so happy right now," Madoka said, eyes on the race track. Although she wasn't facing him, she knew that Dunamis was smiling at her. "Tell me about it. The first time I found her was way different with how she is right now," he said, looking back at the race.

"Come to think of it, you guys have been together way longer before you guys came to the city right?" Madoka ask and Dunamis smile, probably reminiscing the moments he had with her before they went to the city. "Yeah, I never told you about how we really met right?" Madoka shake her head.

"So, how was it like? I mean, taking care of her?" Madoka ask, wanting to know more about the older woman.

"Let's go somewhere else. It's too noisy here" Dunamis invites her as he got up and leave the Go-Kart area. Madoka followed behind and went to an empty bench with less crowd. Madoka waited for him to say something as he looked up at the sky as if recalling the moment he met Yui.

"We first met when I was walking out of the woods surrounding my temple," he began his story. "When I finally got out of the woods, I saw her. Weak, frail and she looked like she was in pain." Madoka was surprised by that.

"What happened?" she ask but Dunamis just shake his head with a frown. "I don't know. She doesn't want to talk about it. So I didn't." Madoka could see that Dunamis was sad and angry. Maybe because he wanted to know. He wanted to help but Yui is not the type to ask for help. He knew that. Everyone knew that. Hearing Dunamis chuckled brought her back to reality.

"Thinking back to those times made me remember the time she would run away from me when I tried to clean her wounds and give her medicines. She would give me those deadly glares of her that I assumed could burn a hole through my body if such thing exists." Dunamis chuckle even more that even made Madoka giggle.

"It must be hard for you huh?"

"Yeah, but she never got angry at me. No matter how much I reminded her that she needs to take her medicines." Madoka looked at Dunamis, surprised. "Well, she did gave me those glares...but she never rejected my offer or yelled at me."

"She..never yelled at you? Although when..she's angry?" that question caught Dunamis' interest.

"Well, she does have certain time when she's angry but she had never yelled at me before if she's really mad." Madoka avert her gaze from the older guy to the ground.

"Did something happened between you two?"

"What makes you say that?" once she ask that, Dunamis chuckled. "Let's just say, at this point, I can tell whether something happened or not."

Madoka gave out a nervous sigh. She wasn't sure about this. To tell him about the accident where Yui scolded her for saying such stupid stuff over stupid reason about Ginga's letter. Even so, Dunamis is one of the people she trusts. She can tell him and he will understand. Besides, what matters now is that she wanted to know. What she meant that day. Why she said like that. So she told him, from the beginning to the end. Dunamis remained quiet after she told him the whole story.

"Well? What do you think?" she ask, waiting for the answer from Dunamis. He looked like he is deep in thought until,

"Well, let's just say, you just said a word that she hates the most," Madoka was confused.

"W-What do you mean? What word? You don't mean the dy-"

"Dying. Die. That's the word." he answers for her. All Madoka could do is stare at him in disbelief. So many questions but the real question is 'why?'. As if Dunamis could read her mind, he explained it even more.

"You could say that Yui..is the type that values the time while they are still alive." Madoka could only stare at him. He knew so much about her. He cares a lot about her. To an extent where he knew who Yui really is. Maybe, just maybe, Dunamis might be...

"I think it's better if we end this topic here. They're coming over." Dunamis said as he look back at Madoka in the eyes before turning to face what's in front of him with Madoka following his gaze only to see Yui, Kyouya and Ryuuga coming over.

"Sheesh, you guys were here all along? You guys got me worried you know?" Yui said with an annoyed tone with Kyouya and Ryuuga following right behind her.

"Haha, let's just say..." Dunamis paused before looking at Madoka and then back at Yui, "...it's a secret." The trio in front of him looked at the duo skeptically. Clearly, they were hiding something.

"Aww, come on. Don't leave me in the dark. Tell me!" Yui demands and Dunamis could only shrugged his shoulders, making Yui to suddenly yank his front shirt back and forth as she demands to know more, furiously. The sight of them two made Madoka laugh without noticing that she was stared by someone.

"Urgh, fine. I'll let this slide...for now," Yui said as her eyes narrowed as she turn her gaze at Madoka.

"Oh boy..." Madoka muttered. She knew that Yui would probably going to bother her until she finally talks about it and the worst part is, she always got what she wants. But not this time. Since this talk is about Yui herself, Madoka swore to not give in to Yui's persistence.

"So what's next?" Dunamis ask as he got up from the bench. Yui had a thoughtful look on her face before she looked around as if she was searching for something.

"Let's take a break. I'm sure everyone is hungry by now." she said when she spotted a restaurant nearby. As if on cue, Ryuuga's stomach rumbles. Everyone looked at the silver-hair man with surprised expressions. Even Yui was left speechless after she heard the sound of his stomach.

"Finally. Took your time enough," he mumbled as he went towards the restaurant, leaving behind the four of them.

"Ahh, I'm full. That was a nice meal," Madoka said as finished her meal. Madoka could see the satisfied look on everyone's face since the food was really great. Even Ryuuga and Yui, being the only two who had the biggest appetite ever, was full.

"Yeah, it was. Though, I still think that Ryuuga himself was way over me," Yui stated as she eyed the man. Ryuuga was chewing on the toothpick like he didn't even care what Yui was trying to imply. The others looked at him as they let out a nervous laugh.

"So then, what's next? I think we're almost done with this whole outing. Besides, it's getting late," Kyouya said. Looking outside the windows, they could see that it is getting late. The sun was going down and sooner or later, night will be coming. Yui's chuckle caught their attentions as they look at her. The evil grin she wears right now was somewhat unpleasant...and horrifying.

"Hehehe, finally. The time has come~" she said. Madoka knew that Yui was planning something. And she didn't like it, one bit.

"Kyahhhhh!" a scream could be heard inside the building as they looked up at the building in front of them. Yui was grinning, Dunamis was surprised, Kyouya was pissed, Ryuuga doesn't care and Madoka was...frozen?

"You've got to be kidding me?" Madoka mutter but everyone in the group could still hear her. After that, Yui turns around, still wearing that same evil grin before saying, "No, I'm not~!"

Kyouya facepalmed himself as she said that. Madoka wanted to run away but she knows that Yui isn't going to let her. Of all the attractions she choose to go and to make it worse, when it was getting late, she chose to go to the Haunted House.

"Come on, it's going to be fun! Right guys?" she asks the males. Dunamis could only let out a nervous laugh. Kyouya was glaring at her.

"Somehow, I'm getting a bad feeling from this. Especially when you're hyped for it," Kyouya said as he crossed his arms and look at the young woman.

"Aww, come on. Do you really think that little of me? Look at Ryuuga, for God's sake," she said as she points at the said man when he suddenly smirks, "Hmph, looks fun."

"See~?"

"Don't encourage her!"

"I think...I'm gonna sit this one out..." Madoka said as she walks backward, away from the group. Unfortunately, Yui moved quickly towards her, grabs both of her shoulders and holds her in place.

"Nope! Not this one~!" she smile at her. That smile creeps her out. Madoka's mind wanders off to another place as she was dragged back to the group. Yui knew that Madoka had a weakness towards jumpscares. She knew about this back when both of them watched a horror movie at the movie theater. Why did she went in the first place? Let's just say, someone was being persistent.

"But Yui..." Madoka drags on, earning the young woman's attention. "You know I don't like this kind of place..." With that, Madoka cries as she tried to get away from the place.

"Stop giving me the crocodile tears and let's go," Yui said as she gets in line.

"But Yui..." she pouts and Yui turns around, staring at her. Moments later, she lets out a sigh.

"Geez, if you're that scared, then ask both Kyouya and Ryuuga to go with you. Besides, instead of worrying about the 'ghosts' inside there," she leans closer to Madoka as she whispers, "...I think you should be more worried of him..." she points with her finger.

Following the direction of her finger, she saw the evil face of Ryuuga as he look up at the building with anticipation. Madoka could partically feel the dark aura around him which only caused her to cry even more.

"Can't I go with you instead...?" she ask until Yui suddenly grins again.

"Nope, too late. You're stuck with them, whether you like it or not. And it looks like it's my turn now. Come on Dunamis! Let's see what we can find inside~!" she said in a pleasing tone. Dunamis looked at Madoka, giving an apologetic face before going inside with Yui.

"You sure you're going to be alright?" Kyouya ask her. Turning around to face him, Madoka could only hung her head low.

"I'm gonna die..."

Upon their turn, Ryuuga was the first to walk ahead followed by Kyouya with Madoka right behind him. She was holding on to Kyouya's jacket as they walked further inside. Her constant halting caused Kyouya to stop walking was beginning to annoy him.

"Madoka, stop doing that. Nothing is going to come out as long as you stay near me. Okay?" he tried to reassure her. He can't go mad at her at the time like this especially when she looked so scared. For now, he'll just put up with her until they reached the end.

"Seriously though, this place doesn't looked these big from the outside..." he mutter as he looked around trying to find anything that could be a potential jumpscare. The place was huge, it almost looked like an abandon mansion. So far, everything was normal. Nothing seemed out of ordinary until they stumble upon a man on a chair in a hallway.

"K-Kyouya...? Why are you stopping...?" she ask as she peer above his shoulder only to froze as she saw the man. He was slumping on the chair as if he had gone to sleep. That wasn't the reason why she froze at her spot. What caught her attention was the blood stains all over him, especially at the stomach area.

"Stay here," Kyouya told her which freaks her out. "W-W-W-Wait a minute! I'll go with you!" she protest as she grabs on his jacket even tighter.

"Look, I'm just gonna check him. So stay here okay?" he said. Madoka was hesitant to let go of him but eventually give in. When Kyouya walk towards the man, nothing happened. He didn't move or do anything. Next, Kyouya poke him at the head.

"K-Kyouya, don't do that...What if he suddenly got up?" she ask, panic rising in her mind. Kyouya just stare at her before looking down on the man. He doesn't looked like he's going to do anything so he left the man and went towards Madoka back.

Just when Madoka lets out a sigh of relief, the next thing she saw was something that she finds horrifying. The man suddenly got up and walked behind Kyouya. Upon noticing the changes on Madoka's face, Kyouya turns around only to see the man was getting close to him.

"What the-" he said as he quickly dodge the man from grabbing him. Madoka tensed as the man looked at her and was walking towards her. Unable to contain her fear, she screams.

"Kyahh!" she quickly turn the other way, leaving Kyouya behind with the man.

"Oi, Madoka!" she could hear him shouting for her but she didn't care. All that she cares right now is getting out of this place even if she had to go alone.

It wasn't a while ago, that Madoka realized that she just made a big mistake. How could she thought about finding an exit all by herself. With the whole place as big as it is, there was no way she is going to find the exit soon.

"I-I-It's fine. I can do this. I-I-I'll just think..of happy things. Yeah, t-that's it. Think of how this place would be if we all clean it up." she talks out loud to nobody. It was one of the way to keep out the fear in her. However, that moment was cut off when she heard footsteps. Turning around slowly, she looked at the dark hallway behind her as she heard the footsteps getting louder and louder.

"K-Kyouya...?" she call out softly. By the time she called out to him, the footsteps stops. Madoka could feel chill crawling on her back as she felt as if someone was watching her. Suddenly a woman appear from the dark hallway. She had long black hair and bloodshot eyes.

"Kyahh!" she screams again as she ran ahead. Never had she ran so hard before just because she wanted to get away from the woman. Just when she's about to slow down, a tall man with his head cut in half appear from another hallway, earning another scream from Madoka.

As she ran around the place, Madoka kept bumping and meeting more and more 'ghosts' everytime she was about to stop. Her energy has slowly run out and Madoka could feel her legs getting heavier as she continues to run.

Right when she was about to turn around the corner, she suddenly bumps against something hard which caused her to fall down on the floor. Looking up to see what or who is it now that's going to chase her, her eyes suddenly fell upon a familiar gold colour eyes.

"Ryuuga..." she said and slowly her eyes suddenly form into tears. She could feel her heart relax as she stumble upon someone that at least, looked alive. Her legs finally gave out as she slowly slide down to the floor. Ryuuga just stare at her, not breaking eye contact with her until he heard sounds from behind her.

One by one, all the 'ghost' and the undead came into his view. Right when they're close enough to them, they all stop moving towards them. Somehow, the sight of Ryuuga right before them was safe to say, very intimidating.

"Oh? So you guys are the ones that caused problems around here huh?" he smirk as he walk towards them. Right when he got closed to them, they all took one step back, trying to get away from the man.

"Get out from my sight. Or else..." he suddenly broke into an evil grin.

-Meanwhile, somewhere outside the Haunted House-

"Arghhhhhh!" a scream could be heard from inside the Haunted House.

"That was a loud scream. Do you think it's-" Dunamis was cut off by Yui, nodding her head.

"Yeah, definitely Ryuuga's doing..." she said as she took a bite out of her waffle.

-Back inside the Haunted House-

Ryuuga crossed his arms as he thought of how much of a coward they were. He turns around to look at the young woman who still remained on the floor. Madoka was trying to catch her breath and calm her heart down, knowing that she won't be getting chased by anyone for now.

"What happened to you?" he ask. Madoka look up and just let out a nervous laugh.

"Let's...not..talk about...that..." she pant as she said. Ryuuga was looking around as if to search for something until he ask her, "Wasn't Kyouya with you?" Madoka remained silent as the feeling of guilty overwhelmed her.

-With Kyouya-

"Madoka! Where are you?" he called out for her. A big door caught his attention as he went towards it and open it only to be greeted by the sunlight.

"Congratulations young man! You finally found the exit! We hope you enjoyed our attraction. Please, walk down this path and soon, you'll find yourself at the front of the Haunted House. Thank you and please come again." a man congratulate Kyouya as he closed the door behind him again.

"WHAT?!" Kyouya exclaim in frustation.

-Back to Madoka and Ryuuga-

"So, you left him behind..." Ryuuga said and Madoka could only hung her head down in embarrassment. She didn't mean to leave him behind. She got panicked and quickly left the place.

"Well, whatever. This place sucks. Let's go," Ryuuga said as he began to walk. Upon seeing Ryuuga leaving her behind, Madoka frantically got up to catch up to him.

"Ryuuga, wait for me." she said. Since her legs haven't fully rested, she walked slowly than she usually does. Ryuuga noticed that and he stop to look at her.

"Are you tired already?" he ask her once she got close to him. Madoka look up at him with disbelief in her eyes. "In case you forgot, I ran from those guys for like, a long time, Ryuuga. Of course I'm tired..."

Ryuuga kept on staring at her as she placed her hands on her knees, trying to catch her breath before standing up properly, letting out a sigh.

"Alright, I'm fine now. Let's just stick close to each other okay?" when she said that, Ryuuga looked at her skeptically, "And how do I know that you're not gonna leave me behind like you did to Kyouya?"

"H-Hey! I panicked that time okay? Besides, he was so far away from me that time..." she mumble and looked away, her face was red from embarrassment. He lets out a sigh before he took her hand which caught her by surprised. She looks up at him and he just stare at her before pulling her along as he began to walk again. Madoka was speechless as he pulled her while searching for an exit.

The contact he made with her hand reminded her the time when she asked him out to accompany her from before. She could still remember when he drag her outside the park. Rough and forced in some way but this time, it was different. She look up only to see the back of his head. Looking back down to their hands, she could feel his grip was soft and gentle. He wasn't dragging her around, more like he was bringing her with him for a walk.

All the time she was with him went by so fast that she didn't even realized that they had arrived in front of a big door. It was different than the rest of the doors they had stumble upon. When Ryuuga opened the door, they were greeted by a sunset. Suddenly, a clapping sound could be heard from beside them.

"Congratulations, you both. You finally found the exit. We hope you enjoyed our attraction. Please, walk down this road and you'll find yourself right outside the entrance. Thank you and please come again." the man bow his head. Without wasting any time, Ryuuga walk down the path, pulling Madoka with him. Not before Madoka said thank you to the man. Soon enough, both of them did arrived back at the front of the entrance.

"Hey~! You two!" a familiar voice called out to them. Ryuuga and Madoka both turned around to see Yui, Dunamis and Kyouya walking towards them. Upon seeing them getting closer, Ryuuga immediately let go of Madoka's hand and walk to a nearest bench to sit down. The two of them didn't realized that a certain green-haired man saw what they did.

"You guys sure took your time," Yui said as she look at the younger woman. Madoka could only laugh nervously upon being inspected by Yui's gaze. Moments later, Yui lets out a sigh.

"Oh well, it's not like we're in a rush. But still! You got me worried when I saw Kyouya got out without you. Do you know just how much that worries me?" she ask. As Yui kept on lecturing her, Madoka stole a glance at Kyouya and she could see that he was looking at Ryuuga, differently. She couldn't read that gaze he's wearing right now.

"Are you listening to me?!" Yui's sudden raise in her voice surprised Madoka that she yelped.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I promise I won't do it again!" she apologizes and Yui just let out a sigh again.

"Bahh, it's fine. Anyway, we're all here now. So let's go and enjoy our last attraction." she said, "...but before that," she went towards Ryuuga and began lecturing him as well. Madoka looked at Dunamis and he just shrugged his shoulder as he began making his way towards Yui to calm her down. Madoka took this chance to go to Kyouya to apologize.

"Hey, Kyouya. Sorry about before. You know, leaving you behind in there..." she said and Kyouya looked like he just realized that she was there beside him.

"Oh, yeah. Don't worry about it." he said as he looked at her. Suddenly, he pat her head as he looked away, "I'm just glad that you're okay." Madoka was surprised once more. To think that he would display such gesture out in public, she was beyond speechless. Kyouya would never do such a thing. Even so, to feel him patting her head, it made her happy. Moments later, he stop and Madoka felt a little disappointed.

"Hey, you two over there! Come on, we're wasting time standing around. Let's go!" Yui called over and walks ahead, followed by Dunamis and the now annoyed Ryuuga.

"Come on, let's go. If we're late, I'm sure that woman is going to scold us next." he said and Madoka just nod her head, smiling.

"And we're here~!" Yui said, her happy tone doesn't hide the fact that she is really happy right now. The others look up at the attraction that Yui had saved for the last. For once, Madoka was thankful to Yui. She really needed a break from all of the events she had went through. And to relax on a Ferris Wheel sure seemed like a good way to let out all her exhaustion.

"For real?" she heard Kyouya mutter as he look up at the Ferris Wheel before he groans. Yui was grinning but this time, it was a genuine grin of a happy person.

"Aww, come on! This is like the good way to relax after a long day." she tries to persuade him. Madoka look at him and smile, "She has a point, Kyouya. Besides, it's fun to be able to see the city at the time like this. I'm sure the lights would be beautiful."

At this point, Kyouya knew he couldn't do anything against the two of them. So he willingly gave up. Yui was beyond excited as she went ahead to be in line while everyone else follow her from behind. With the exception of one person.

"I think I'll pass." Ryuuga said as he walk towards the nearest bench. The others looked at the young man while Yui called out to him, "Aww, why not? You can share a ride with Madoka and Kyouya."

Upon hearing the word 'sharing', Kyouya glare at Yui but he made sure that no one noticed it. Ryuuga have already sat down on the bench by the time Yui told him to share a ride with the other two.

"No thanks. I prefer to be alone. And by alone, sleeping here is better than inside there." he said as he lay down, closing his eyes. Yui just shrugged her shoulders when she saw him, dozing off.

"Oh well. It's his loss." Yui said as she move up in line. Both Kyouya and Madoka look at each other before following her.

"So, who's sitting with who?" Madoka ask as she got closer to Yui. Yui grins as soon as Madoka asked the question. With a teasing and playful tone, she said, "Madoka, look at us. There's only 4 of us now. So of course we'll go in pair. Naturally, I'm sticking to Dunamis as usual."

Madoka and Kyouya looked at her with suspicious eyes after she said that. Upon seeing that expression, Yui got defensive.

"Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Don't go and give me that look. I'm just saying that because I don't want all of us to cramp together in one place." she said and Kyouya suddenly gave out a mischievious smirk to which caused Yui to get mad at him.

'Something tells me this is going to be a long ride...' Madoka thought as she looked at the pair.

The next pair finally got out from one of the capsules and Yui together with Dunamis entered it. When the door closed, their capsule finally moved and before Madoka could enter the next one with Kyouya, she could see Yui looking back at her with a mischievious smile. It was as if she was planning something.

Shaking the thought away, Madoka enters the capsule and the door shuts behind them. Slowly, the capsule moved until the one behind them stopped in front of the entrance. Looking behind her, she could see a couple, holding hands as they enter the capsule behind them. Looking back at the front, she had to face the young man in front of her. Kyouya had one of his arm propped up on the seat as he gaze outside to his left.

"It's going to be a long ride huh?" Madoka said and Kyouya just stayed silent as the Ferris Wheel moves slowly, filling up some of the empty capsules for other people to get on. As the Ferris Wheel move, their capsule begins to get higher and higher until Madoka started to play with the hem of her skirt as if she was uncomfortable. Kyouya noticed her behaviour and looked at her, confused.

"You okay?" he ask and Madoka could only laugh nervously. She was hesitating. She wasn't sure whether she should tell him but she decided to do it anyway.

"Promise not to laugh?" she ask, looking away and Kyouya just raise an eyebrow before nodding. Watching him from the corner of her eyes, she slowly smile a nervous smile. "I'm...actually, afraid of heights..."

Silence envelopes the whole space around them in the capsule. It was getting more awkward than usual and Madoka hung her head low in embarrassment. She could tell that Kyouya is currently judging her with that sharp eyes of his and her face heats up from an even more embarrassment. That is until, he finally broke the silence himself.

"I can't tell whether you're brave or you're being an idiot..." he said and Madoka just hung her head even low. Then, something moved in front of her and when she looked up, she saw Kyouya extending his hand to her. When she look at him in the face, she saw him staring back at her. Madoka tilts her head as if she was questioning his gesture.

"Just hurry up and take my hand. At the very least, I hope it helps you calm down," he said as he nudge his head at his extended hand, urging her to hold it. Madoka hesitate as she tried to hold his hand. When she hesitate at the last minute, Kyouya suddenly grabs her hand and holds it. Surprised by the sudden action, she could feel her face heats up more than usual.

When she looked up at him, Kyouya had already face outside again. Looking back at their joined hands, her heart begins to race fast. This is the first time she had done something like this with Kyouya. To actually experience a physical contact with him out of consideration and not because of pity, it feels awkward especially when it comes to Kyouya. Yet, it feels warm. She grips his hand, causing the young man to look back at her.

"What?" he ask.

"It's nothing. I just feel safe when we hold hands like this. It feels like I'll be fine as long as you're with me," she said as she smile. Kyouya stares at her before he did his usual trademark smirk. "Don't mention it. Besides, I'd still do it even if you didn't asked for it,"

Madoka looked at him, shocked. Did he really just said that? Her heart beats loud. She had to look away so that he would not notice her blush which earned a questioning look from him. The atmosphere was getting awkward and none of them were bothered to break the silence. Just when she was about to ask something, an unseen accident happened.

It has been quite a while since they got in. Ryuuga looked up at the Ferris Wheel and soon he got up from laying on the bench. He assumed that the two pairs had reached the uppermost location of the ferris wheel.

"I guess it's time..." he mutter as he put on an evil grin.

Yui was fidgetting as she looked behind her seat as she peaks over at the capsule behind her and Dunamis' capsule. She thought that by giving both of them some privacy, something would eventually happen between them.

"What are you doing, Madoka...?" she mutter. Fidget, fidget.

"Uh, Yui?" Dunamis calls for her but she wasn't listening.

"Why aren't they doing anything...?" she mutters again to herself.

Yui was sitting on her knees at her seat as she looks over at them. Dunamis just stare at her in disbelief. She had been sitting that way after the first 5 minutes after getting in the capsule. After all of the things that happened, Dunamis have gotten the basic about what Yui had actually planned for all of this. Especially for Madoka.

"I understand that you wanted to see the results of your little 'matchmaking' Yui," he said and Yui almost immediately turns around to glare at him. Dunamis, however, just continues to speak, "But you need to understand, this is Madoka we're talking about. It takes time for her to move on to someone else."

Yui kept silence and after a couple minutes passed, she let out a sigh before facing him, sitting properly on her seat and crossed her legs.

"I think you misunderstood me. I'm not trying to get them 'TOGETHER'," she said as she imply the word 'together' with a hand signal. Dunamis, however, was giving her a skeptical look and Yui just let out an even longer sigh.

"Have I ever mention that I hate you so much?" she ask, annoyed.

"Nope, but I can see that."

Yui rolled her eyes at his comment before she looked outside the windows. Not long after that, she spoke up.

"I've been thinking about what you've told me at the playground long time ago," that sentence caught Dunamis' interest. Yui's gaze went from outside to the floor. She looked like she was deep in thought before she continues, "I guess, I just wanted to make sure she has someone else before she knows about me,"

Dunamis was about to speak up before Yui cut him off, "Don't. I know, that you might said, it's not enough. Yes, I admit it. Indeed, it's not enough of an answer. But for now," her hands grips at the edge of her seat, "I just want her to know, that she has so many other people she can depends on. Not just me."

Dunamis was speechless. Yui had been thinking about it the whole time. He had thought that she was avoiding it but in truth, she was bothered by it. She wanted to do it. She wanted to tell Madoka about her condition but she was worried. She was worried over how Madoka would react to it. So she decided to do it slowly. Solving it by herself.

"I wanted her to be free..." she mumbles but Dunamis was able to hear it, given that the space between them is small. Dunamis could only stare at her, surprised. She sounded so frustated and yet, it also sounded sad. The silence between them was heavy and Dunamis decided to lift it up.

"You're really an idiot, you know that?" he said, smirking. An irk appear at her forehead at that comment before she finally look at him, pissed.

"We'll excuse me for trying to open up my problems to you, mister! At least, I'm trying! Okay? And here I was, trying to talk about this seriously with you but nooooooooooooo! You just had to break the whole mood and-" her words were cut off when Dunamis pressed his index finger to her lips, shutting her mouth up as she stare at him, wide eyes.

"I know, Yui. I know you're trying you're best. But you've made one mistake," he said before he removed his finger, "You didn't ask for my help."

That surprised her. She looked away, unable to look at him in the eyes. Dunamis just continues to talk, "You've made a promise to me, remember? 'I promise to seek help from a friend when I am in need of help as-"

"-as long as my intentions are for the good of others.'," she continued his sentence as she looks up to face him, "Of course I remembered that." Dunamis smile and Yui just remained emotionless.

"I really hate you," she said and Dunamis continues to smile at her. "I'm well aware of that."

Soon, both of them laugh, recalling back what they had just converse. After a long laugh, Yui took a deep breath before she smile. She looked outside, only to find out that their capsule had just passed the uppermost of the Ferris Wheel and was slowly going down.

"Actually," she spoke up, earning a glance from the young male in front of her, "I didn't really forgot about my promise. Because I DID ask help from someone else."

Dunamis raise one of his eyebrows as he ask, "And who would that be?" Yui just shrug as she rolls her eyes, "A 'friend' if I do say so myself," she said, implying the 'friend' by looking downwards.

Dunamis burst out laughing at her answer. When he looked at her serious face, he slowly turns serious as , the whole Ferris Wheel turned dark as the sound of the attraction's electric power whirred down.

"I take it this whole thing is how Ryuuga helps?"

"Yep."

"You do realized he just cut off the ENTIRE amusement park's power right?" Dunamis ask, arms crossed as he peered outside.

"I'm so not asking that idiot's help anymore..."

The sudden blackout caused both Madoka and Kyouya to look around them. Kyouya was being cautious while Madoka was getting nervous. It was dark and Madoka did not like it one bit. She could still handle a blackout from the Ferris Wheel itself if it was the case but the whole amusement park? Not really.

"K-Kyouya. I-It's too dark..." she stutter while gripping Kyouya's hand.

"Yeah, I can see that," he replied as he look at the amusement park direction. Just when he got up from his seat, Madoka could feel the balance of the capsule began to tilt a little which caused her to instinctly got up and hug him tightly.

"Wha-? What are you doing?!" Kyouya ask as he jerk a little, the moment Madoka hugged him.

"You suddenly got up and I could feel the whole thing starting to lose balance so I instinctly got up as well to make sure we don't fall because we're so high up and I told you, that I'm afraid of this kind of height! Don't you know how scary this is for me?! I don't want to die at young age! Especially in this kind of situation!" she blurts out what she wanted to say, out of nervousness and slowly she tears up.

"S-Sorry. My bad..." he apologized as he sweatdrop at the sight of the teared up Madoka, clinging close to him just because he scared her.

"L-Look, let's just sit down okay? Being close like this is...uh, really awkward," he said as he looked away. Madoka looked up to face him and she swears that she Kyouya was blushing but because of the darkness, she couldn't make out of it. Even so, what he said rings a truth and slowly her face heats up as well. Unable to say anything, she looked away before nodding her head in agreement.

The two of them sat down as they waited for the whole power to come back. While waiting, Madoka continues to grip Kyouya's hand.

"You're trembling," he said, causing Madoka to look straight at him although she could not see his face clearly in the dark. She looked down on her hands and he was right, she was trembling. So much for relaxing in the Ferris Wheel, she thought. Instead of replying, she just grips his hands even tighter.

"I guess, going on the Ferris Wheel was a bad idea after all..." she mutters to herself. Kyouya, however, just continue to stare at her as if to urge her to continue. After a couple of seconds, she speaks up again, "You know, I'm really glad you're here with me Kyouya..."

"What do you mean?" he ask and Madoka could feel her face heats up but she smile. "To be honest, I'm not really fond of the dark. Especially this kind of darkness, It reminds me of the day, my parents..." she didn't continue. Kyouya look away, knowing what she meant by it. The day she received a call about her parent's accident.

"That's why, I'm glad," she said, snapping Kyouya from his thoughts. When he looked up, she was smiling at him. "To have you by my side right now. At least, I'm not alone in here." Suddenly she could hear him chuckled and she stare at him, wondering what was so funny.

"Do you really have to go all emotional on me in here? You don't need to be scared of the darkness," he said and Madoka could only look at him, surprised. Suddenly, he leans closer to her, causing her to jerk back from him, "because even in the darkness like this, there's bound to have lights somewhere. Like that,"

Madoka look to her other side and her eyes widen in surprise. Outside the amusement park, lights from the city shines brighter than the stars above. Slowly standing up from her seat, she went towards the window that faces the city. Looking down from her place, she could see the reflections of the lights from the river as well. Slowly, a smile spread across her face as she continues to gaze outside at the city.

"I thought you said that you wanted to see the lights from the city. So, there you have it. Hope that helps calm you down," Kyouya spoke up as he made himself stand beside her, gazing outside at the city together with her. "How are you feeling?"

Madoka keep silent, still gazing outside before looking up to face the green-hair young man beside her, "Better than before." Kyouya smile at her reply. Suddenly, the power came back on and Madoka broke into a grin, "Even better now."

Soon, both of them went back to their seats as they wait for the Ferris Wheel to start moving again. Madoka lets out a giggle, earning a questioning glance from Kyouya.

"What?", he ask and Madoka keeps on grinning before she replies.

"You know, sometimes you can be sweet to the point I found it really entertaining." this time around, she could see his face heating up even more. To push his buttons even more, she continues, "Especially the part when you said 'there's bound to have lights somewhere', like that. It was pretty cheesy."

"Gimme a break..." he mumble as he hid his face at the palm of his hand. That made Madoka giggle.

'Yeah, this is fine. It's better this way,' she thought as she gaze outside to the city.

"Well, that sure was an eventful moment of the day. Right guys?" Dunamis ask the group once they regroup back with Ryuuga. Madoka could only let out a nervous laugh while Kyouya just let out a sigh before muttering something.

"Hmmm, I was wondering what caused the blackout though," Yui said as she looks at Ryuuga from the corner of her eyes before she directly face him, "Any idea, Ryuuga?"

"Who knows?" he replies with a smug grin as both he and Yui went into a glaring contest. Madoka and Kyouya could only look at the duo before looking at each other, wondering what happen between them.

"Alright, alright. Knock it off, you two. I'm pretty sure we're all just tired so there's no need to glare at each other like that," Dunamis said as he stood in between Yui and Ryuuga. "Besides, I'd say today was a success, don't you guys agree? What matters is that everyone had fun."

They all stood there in silence before all of them smile at each other. What he said was true. They had fun, no matter what unfortunate things happened during their time in the amusment park.

"Well, I guess it's a wrap then. Let's go home shall we?" Yui grins as the others nod their heads. Walking back to the entrance, Yui slowed her pace so that she would walk together with Dunamis. Looking at her front, she could see Madoka playing around with Kyouya, teasing him about something, causing the green-hair young man to walk away from her only to be followed by her and gets teased again. A smile appeared at Yui's face as she looked at their antics, especially when Madoka suddenly hid behind Ryuuga from facing Kyouya's anger.

"Hah, seriously, what a bunch of kids," Yui said. Dunamis chuckles when he saw what she meant by that.

"At least, things are going as you planned right?" he ask and Yui nod her head. Staring at the young woman in front of her, together with the other two people, her heart feels at ease. With how things are going, her problems wouldn't caused much trouble one day. Hopefully, she thought as she wonders about the day when she knew the answer.

Well, well. Took me long enough to finish this chapter. Again, dear loyal and lovely readers, I apologize for taking such a long, long time to finish this up. Writer's block was causing so much trouble for me and I guess, part of me was just being lazy. Again, I apologize.

Anyway, I have a notice to make. It's about this story itself, "Choices In Life". You see, originally, I planned to make this story around 15 chapters maximum. However, as I looked over my draft for the whole story, I realized that I just made a big mistake. I realized that my story had lots of holes in it. You could say its, 'unclear'. Looking over my draft, I also realized that the plot of the story is going to fast than it should have been.

So, I've decided. Instead of 15 chapters for the whole story, you could expect an even more chapters than what I had originally planned. I know, I know. It might takes time but I'm doing this because I wanted this story to be satisfying. To be fun. To have a certain touch of 'realistic' in it. So that you readers could enjoy this story when you read it. That being said, I will need time to make a new draft again.

Also, an important notice. I may not have enough time right now to focus on this story. Besides, I have other fanfics that I'm planning on making as well so, I really hope you readers would understand. Especially if you readers know the feeling of a writer that has a mind of tons of ideas plus other shippings. Even as I type this, I realized that I don't have enough time. Being a temporary teacher is going to take a lot of my time away from what I usually do as well.

That being said, I hoped you enjoyed this chapter. I hoped that this chapter have brought a smile onto your face. Thank you for being a patient readers. And, thank you for being a loyal reader to those that have stick on my story ever since the first chapter.
