So yesterday was a slow day at work and my iPod had the song Lazy Afternoons from KH2 on repeat and I was bored so I started writing this in my notebook (An actual paper and pencil notebook). When I got done I decided I kinda liked it. So I thought I'd share it with all of you! There will prob be another one featuring Sora tomorrow. So enjoy and please tell me what you think! And if you're confused there's an explanation at the bottom. Please let me know if you see any grammar mistakes!

Lazy Afternoons

Roxas swung his legs lightly over the edge of the clock tower. He chewed lazily on a long finished ice cream stick, as he watched the ant-like people walk to and fro. . . Actually, he thought tilting his head, it's more like they're moseying along.

That's what the whole town is like, he decided.

Like nobody had anywhere important to be. Like they could all waste an afternoon, doing nothing but walking the streets. Never worrying about being late. All of them just flowing along to the same invisible tune that hung in the air. One that, if Roxas turned his head just right, he thought he could hear.

Lazy Afternoons.

That's what he'd call it.

A lilting melody that plays in sequence. The harmony blending in so perfectly it's hard to distinguish it from the melody. With the music never really stopping, always flowing, always catching on the wind. Fading in and out. It flows through the people, who seem to be waiting readily to follow it.

Except him.

And he can't figure out why.

Moseying and just being didn't sound all that bad to him. Never really worrying, just living day to day. It sounded pretty nice.

But, there was something keeping him from it. It was like this feeling in the back of his mind. Telling him that something wasn't right. That he shouldn't be here. That he was needed somewhere else, with someone else, but he couldn't determine where or who.

Yet, the music continued to play. Pulling at his senses. Like it was trying to teach him to flow like the others, but his body was reluctant to listen.

But he wanted to listen and flow like the others, so badly.

"Roxas!"

He jumped at the exclamation and glanced down once more. They looked just as much like ants as the others, but he was still able to make out enough features to know who they were.

Hayner, Pence, Olette.

His best friends.

He felt a slight jolt, similar to that of betraying someone, when he thought of them in that fashion. But, he'd lived in Twilight Town his whole life, and hadn't ever really had any other friends besides them.

"Are ya coming?"

Roxas took one last glance at the town before standing and grabbing his jacket. Even if he felt like he was betraying someone -Somebody? Nobody?-, they were still his best friends.

And they flowed to the music like everyone else.

He just couldn't figure out why he couldn't too.

I'm an explanation! → I got to thinking that in the Simulated Twilight Town, everyone is pretty much a computer program so even if they're AI there would still be some sort of rhythm they'd follow at first. And as Roxas isn't one, he might have notice it somewhat, so in the beginning he'd maybe take refuge at the clock tower. And the whole "betraying someone -Somebody? Nobody?" thing. I don't even know who he's referring to. Maybe the Org and Axel. Or it might be Sora's memories coming out to play. Who knows? Please leave a review!

Fun fact! Lazy Afternoons only plays in the Simulated Twilight Town!

P.S. I'm still looking for a Beta reader if anyone's interested!
