Before he went to battle the Shimon, Hibari got ready as he always did. That was the problem with Sawada's crew—they were never ready for anything. Shirts untucked from pants, zippers undone, hair always out of place. Honestly, Hibari thought with a snort, and they thought they could intimidate anybody with their unkempt appearances. Someone might have thought they were all brats going on a school trip together.

Then again, it might be a tactic to make their enemies underestimate them and then thoroughly pound them into the ground. Judging by Reborn's repeated thwacks to Tsuna's messy head (the horror of unbrushed hair!), Hibari somehow doubted. He secretly suspected Reborn was merely using creative and effective ways to force Tsuna's hair into submission so by the time he assumed the role of mafia don, the hair was at least somewhat manageable. Now there was a man of fine taste. It was obvious that Reborn shared the same adherence to battle-dress etiquette as Hibari did, which was part of the reason why Hibari respected him.

There was only one problem to address now. Hibird had gone through a molting phase recently. There were some sad little bald patches left on Hibird's usually impeccable head of yellow fluff. This was clearly unacceptable.

"Kusakabe," Hibari said in a measured tone.

The other man winced and slowly turned around. He knew that tone very well by now. It was the same tone Hibari used when he threatened the principal to reassert his right as disciplinary head of the school after Suzuki Adelheid's thankfully short reign of terror. And that time with the seizing of the school's finances in order to buy a helicopter. One had to arrive in style, Hibari insisted.

"Hibird needs…" Oh god, what would it be? Jet engines, claws of steel, an embedded microchip for easy tracking? "…a new hairdo."

Kusakabe blinked. "Excuse me for asking Kyou-san, but why?"

"The bald patches will affect his intimidation factor," Hibari responded. "Now get to it before I find another substitute for my flight partner." Hibari gave him a meaningful stare.

Kusakabe blinked again, only this time in horror. Thirty minutes later, Hibird was sporting a flawless fohawk. He did not have quite enough yellow fluff to make Kusakabe's yankee hairdo. Although he arrived late for the battles once again, Hibari was very pleased with himself and Hibird.
