((ALSO, LIFE HAS BEEN CRAY, BUT I'M LOVING IT. I MOVED ACROSS THE COUNTY AND AM VERY HAPPY WHERE MY WIFE AND I ENDED UP IN THIS WORLD.)) OKAY OKAY WITHOUT FURTHER ADO...
ENJOY :)
It was the day after they had the genetics test on the baby. Heather and Naya were doing their best to keep themselves busy waiting for day four or five. Heather was doing pretty well; Naya, on the other hand, was a little more of a challenge. She had gotten a book on babies with Down syndrome, and Down syndrome in the womb. Heather didn't really want her reading them until they knew more, so she was currently sitting on their bed folding clothes, thinking of course.
Heather was at the studio teaching, and Olivia and Em were there as well. Harper ran into the room and crawled up on the bed "Hi Momma."
"Hi Harp, how are you baby?" She smiled happily to see her little heather look alike.
"I good," She said, "Can we go play?"
"What do you want to play?"
Harper put her hand on her chin tapping it, thinking.
Naya giggled at the adorableness of her child.
"Um…." The little blonde said, "With Benji and you."
"Benji is at Uncle Kevin's house for a little bit, But Momma will play with you."
"Park?" Harper asked.
Naya nodded thinking that a trip to the park would be a great distraction.
"Sure we can go to the park. Let Momma finish folding these clothes, and then we can go okay?"
"Okay," Harper smiled.
Heather had just finished teaching Olivia's lyrical class. "Great job girls that was an awesome class!" She said as the little girls rushed to the door to get ready for their next classes.
"Mommy," Olivia said walking over to her.
"Yes, lovie."
"Can I go home? I am done for the day."
"You don't want to wait for Mom and Em like you normally do?"
Olivia shrugged, "I can, yeah… sure."
"What is it Liv?" Heather asked her daughter.
"Nothing, I just kinda wanted to hang out with Momma, since she is home I thought she could come and get me."
"I will call her right now and see about that, okay?" Heather said.
"Thanks, Mom" Livy smiled instantly.
"Your welcome" Heather went to her bag and pulled out her phone and dialed Nay.
"Hey, how are you?" Naya answered.
"Hi, what are you doing?"
"I am getting ready to leave for the park with Harp, then after getting Chunk."
"Oh, okay perfect. Do you think you can stop and get Liv?"
"Yeah is everything okay, she always stays the two hours and hangs out at the studio."
"Yeah everything is fine; she just asked if she could come home… she says she wants to be with you."
"Aw, sweet girl how could I say no to that? Yeah, can I talk to her a second?"
"Yeah, here she is." Heather turned and handed liv her cell. "She wants to talk to you for a second."
"Hi Momma"
"Hi, I am going to come and get you, then we are going to go to the park you me and Harper, how does that sound?"
"That sounds like fun! Can you bring me clothes? I only have dance clothes."
"Yes, I will grab some and you can change at the studio really fast. I will be there in about fifteen minutes, please be ready to go okay?"
"Okay, I love you Ma!"
"I love you too Livy."
Olivia handed the phone back to Heather and ran down the hallway to lord knows where.
"Okay baby, I have to go get ready to teach my next class."
"Okay, I will be there soon."
"Okay come see me." She smiled.
"Of course, I love you."
"I love you too," Heather said.
"Can I sit in here until Momma comes to get me?" Olivia asked walking back into Heather's classroom.
"Yeah, that is fine," Heather told her, she should be here in about fifteen or twenty minutes."
"I know, she told me, she also said I need to be ready."
"Then go take off you jazz shoes and put them in your locker, and that way you can change as soon as she gets here."
Emma walked in with her Jazz shoes in her hand, "Mom, are we wearing shoes for warm up?"
"No," Heather told her.
"Okay I will go tell the other girls," Emma said running out of the room.
"Okay, but everyone needs to have shoes in here for after warm up," Heather said.
"Okkkkay" Emma said yelling behind her.
Heather just laughed and shook her head.
"Hey," Kirra said coming into the room. "Can you cover my tap class tomorrow?"
"Which one?"
"Advanced class at Five, your hour off, Grayson has a dr appointment."
"Yeah no problem, he okay?"
"Ear infection, again… this appointment is with Ear nose and throat to see if they are going to put tubes in. They just called with this appointment but I wanted to check before I made it."
"Of course, take it. Poor little man."
"Thanks, and do you mind if Gracie sticks around the studio if I am running a little late after?"
"Not at all, I leave at 7 tomorrow, I can drop her off or she can come to our house either or works for me."
"Oh, our house pleeeeeease!" Emma said with Gracie standing next to her, both girls jumping around excited at the prospect of hanging out after dance.
"Fine with me," Kirra said, "That's Heather's call Grace," She said to her daughter.
"I'll talk to Naya, but it shouldn't be a problem."
"Okay, thanks," Kirra said, "Grace, work hard in class. You too Emmi" She pointed at Emma who smiled.
"Yes ma'am," Emma said.
"You raised the best kid," Kirra said.
"Heeeeeey!" Gracie said to her Mom.
"Okay guys," Heather said to the nine girls in the class. "We're going to start on the floor today, Olivia do you wanna do music until Momma gets here."
"Yeah!" Livy said taking the iphone from her Mom.
All the girls sat down, and Olivia pressed play on her music and Heather sat as well. With her more advanced classes, she didn't have a teacher's assistant normally because she liked to dance with the girls.
About ten minutes into class she heard little footsteps coming up the hall.
"Harper" She mouthed to Olivia. "Momma is here."
In just seconds the little blonde ran straight into the classroom and right up to Heather stretching on the floor, she put her hands on her knees crouched down to Heather's eye level and kissed her. "Hi, Mommy!"
"Hi, my Harpie" Heather smiled.
She looked back at the door and saw Naya standing there. "Sorry I told her not too just run in here."
"It's okay," Heather said getting up off the floor. "Girls continue your warm up, I will be right back."
She walked to where Naya was after putting the little blonde on her hip and kissed her wife. "Hi"
"Hi," Naya said.
"So you're going to the park?"
"Yeah then to get Benjamin" Naya nodded.
"Okay, Olivia is very excited to go with you guys. Did she go change already?"
"Yeah," Naya said.
"How are you feeling?" Heather asked Nay in a quiet voice.
"Okay, I was a little… anxious but this sweet girl took that right away." Naya smiled at Harper in Heather's arms.
"Not even a minute later, Olivia came back with her dance clothes in hand.
"Mommy, can I ask Emma something?" Livy asked her Mom.
"Yes," Heather said.
Olivia ran over to her sister.
"Okay, well I will be home about eight that one has her advance class with Kirra tonight, and I am going to stay and choreograph the hour."
"Sounds good, I will have dinner ready for you and her when you get home and make sure the little ones are fed and bathed."
"Thanks, oh hey… Kirra has a big appointment with Greyson tomorrow, and I told her I would ask you if it was ok if Gracie came over after dance."
"Yeah, she can spend the night that's fine with me," Naya said.
"Okay I will tell her"
Olivia ran back over. Okay, I am ready Momma."
"Okay harper, have fun," Heather said handing her to Naya. "I love you, you too Olivia." She kissed both her girls. "And you of course" she smiled to Nay.
"Love you too, see you at home."
"Bye Em" Naya waved.
"Wait!" Em said looking to Heather, silently asking if she could get up.
"Yeah come on," Heather said.
Emma ran over and hugged nay. "I love you, Momma."
"I love you too Bug. Have a good class, work hard!"
"I will see you at home." Emma said.
"Yes baby, see you at home." Naya smiled.
It had been a long night by the time Heather had gotten home from the dance studio with Emma, eaten and helped Emma with a little bit of homework. Naya had gone up to bed after the little ones went down, Heather could tell she just wasn't feeling well. Emma, Ben and she watched a little bit of tv and then she put them to bed and headed downstairs to clean up from the evening before heading to bed herself.
Once she checked on the kids, she headed into her bedroom, where Naya was sitting reading yet another book about Down syndrome.
Heather walked over and straddled her, "Why don't we put this down for a little bit, yeah?" She smirked wrapping her hands around the brunette's neck.
"I have to keep my mind occupied on something Heather, otherwise I am going to go stir crazy."
"Okay, well how 'bout you let me distract you, huh?"
"Kids…"
"Are all asleep" Heather said, "I have checked on them twice before coming up to bed."
"Harper…" Naya said.
"I have the monitor on, so we can hear her, or any of them for that matter, and I locked our door." She smiled.
Taking the book out of her wife's hand and placing it on the nightstand. She then let her hands dance at the hem of Naya's shirt while she kissed her lips.
Naya moaned into her kiss and relaxed a little, at her wife's touch. Letting her hands run up and down the blonde's sides as her shirt was being lifted up over her head.
Heather tossed Nay's shirt on the floor, as Naya's breath as was growing more erratic. She lifted her own shirt up over her head and discarded it on the floor with her wife's. Naya's hands instantly running up and down her bare skin as it was exposed, before settling on her perfect breasts.
As soon as Nay's hands made the contact, Heather arched her back throwing her head with a moan. Naya let her hands knead her breasts, as she sat up bridging the small gap between them, so her mouth could make contact with Heather's neck.
"Fuck" Heather moaned, she began to rock her hips, sitting atop of Nay. Grinding into her, hard but slowly.
Naya closed her eyes as she sucked a bit harder heading to Heath's collarbone, a pool of wetness growing between her legs. Her fingers looped around the waistband on Hemo's sleep shorts, and Heather lifted slightly, as she pulled them down. Her body begging for her own pants to come down as well so she could feel her wife's skin on hers, as she pressed into her so perfectly. She broke contact with her mouth for a moment, and Heather made eye contact with her, practically screaming "why!" when she looked down, and silently told her lover what she needed so badly. By this point in their relationship, they were so in sync with one another, a glance or nudge, and the other knew what their wife needed. Heather let her hands frantically pull at Nay's pants until they were down enough to expose all of her. Not caring at the moment about completely removing them, almost as if there were no time to think about that.
Her mouth returned to the blonde's collarbone, now making her way to her left breast, her hands tangled in her hair pulling her impossibly closer. Heather's rocking becoming even more fierce. She laid her back adjusting herself on top of her.
Naya kicked out of her pants, never letting her mouth leave Heather's skin. Heather's hand navigated to Nay's core and was accosted by wetness, as she let her fingers dance at her entrance before finding her clit as she so eloquently grazed over it, with her two fingers, adding just the right amount of pressure to cause the brunette underneath her to seize with pleasure.
"Fuuuuuck Heather."
Heather just made eye contact with her and smirked, not saying a word, and then let two fingers move smoothly into her. Nay's back arched, she gasped her arms wrapping around Heather's neck pulling her lips to hers to kiss her. As the blonde thrust gently into her wife's core she kissed her deeper. Letting her know just how much love she had for her in that moment. Her free hand, running up and down her bare tan skin, her lips left hers so she could let them follow her hand kissing every inch of Naya's skin. Heather could feel Naya growing closer, so she let that free hand find her swollen nub again, and she began to rub as her other hand slid in and out of her. Each time, in a little deeper than before, now knuckle deep in her wife, she felt her start to contract and knew her high was coming.
"There you go baby," She said into her ear as she kissed her neck.
Nay's hips began to rock viciously. "Yes baby" She breathed out her voice now thick and raspy.
Within moments she was hitting her high, and Heather had lifted her head, to watch her.
"I love you," Naya said kissing her.
She was so beautiful in this moment, she just wanted to take in Naya and all that she was; it had felt like it had been too long since she had really stopped and made love to her like this, savoring every moment, taking their time.
"What?" Naya said bringing her out of her stupor.
"Huh?" Heather asked.
"Your staring, is something wrong?"
"No, nothing" Heather kissed her. "I was just taking it all in, taking you all in."
"You make me self-conscious when you do that," she smiled, "You used to do that all the time when we first started dating."
She shook her head. "I know, and I plan to do it more often, again."
"What, stare at me like a creeper when I come?" She giggled.
Heather rolled her eyes, "No, well yes, but no." She grabbed her hand and let their fingers intertwine, "Just be more… alert; to you, to us… Make love to you more, take my time with you. Enjoy every second of it."
"Good luck with that, with four, soon to be six kids in the house" Nay joked. There was a comfortable silence for a moment. "But I would like that, I think we both need to do that more. Our life is so busy, and the kids consume so much of our time, and I am not complaining I love our life, and our family. But, this" She lifted their hands and softly kissed Heather's "Is very nice." Again there was a very comfortable silence between the two of them, and then Nay rolled on her side and kissed Heather's shoulder.
"So I really want to, and plan to make love to you… but, do you think we could talk for a few minutes?"
"I would like that very much" Heather nodded.
"I know, I have been really aloof lately, and I really try not to be. It's just all this stuff with the babies is just a little... overwhelming." Naya sighed a little.
Heather just nodded not wanting to interrupt her wife's thoughts.
"I was already a bit… off before we found out that he may have down syndrome… I feel as if one moves less than the other and just had a weird feeling with this pregnancy."
Heather waited a moment to make sure, it was okay to say something, Naya nodded letting her know it was okay, "Nay, you know with Ben and Emma that one moved more than the other at times."
Naya nodded, "Yeah but the boys are identical, I just…"
"They may be identical, but that doesn't mean that they are going to have identical movements and be exactly the same in the womb. And everything I have read on Down syndrome in the womb, says that movement isn't a sign definitively and that they are all different. On a site where moms have had DS babies, I have read both sides, some say their babies didn't move much at all, and others say their kids were very active in the womb. So, we can't base it off of that." Heather said gently.
"I know," Naya said, "And I am trying to only read positive things, cause there is so much information out there."
Heather nodded, "And we don't know yet, one way or the other. Margo said it could have just been the way the ultrasound was reading… But Nay honey, if he does have down syndrome-"'
Nay cut her off "I will be more than okay with it." She smiled. "I will love and nurture him just as I will his brother; he will be no different in my eyes."
"I agree, and if we raise him, to believe he is just as capable as his brother, and other brothers and sisters, he will be a strong independent, as possible boy."
"Totally" Naya smiled. "You know we are going to have to tell everyone soon."
"About the…"
"No," Naya said cutting her off, "Their gender."
"I almost forgot that we hadn't, in all of the commotion," Heather said.
"I haven't... 'Berry' texts me one thousand times a day." Naya air quoted Berry.
Heather laughed. "Well let's plan that that will keep us busy for the next few days…"
"You're right, good idea! For this coming weekend?"
"Sounds perfect… one more thing…"
"Okay." Heather stopped.
"We still like Mason and Riley for names right?"
"Yes," Heather nodded.
"Okay good and middle names are still as talked about?" Naya asked.
"Riley Michael Rivera and Mason Wayne Rivera… right?"
"Perfect" Naya smiled placing her hands on her belly "Their moving."
"Both of 'em," Heather asked placing both hands on her wife's belly, one on each side.
"Yep," Naya smiled.
"They're supposed to be sleeping, how are we supposed to…" She raised her eyebrows up and down.
Naya laughed and kissed her, "Let's lay here with them a few, I'm sure they will drift to sleep."
Heather laid her head on Nay's bare chest and left her hand on her belly. Both her boys seemed to mellow out after just a couple of mins.
"I love them so much already," Heather said.
"Me too," Naya said kissing her, "me too."
Day three of waiting.
Heather awoke to an empty bed, which was odd that Naya would wake before her, but even more so when she was pregnant. She could sleep that was for sure. She picked up her phone to check the time, 7:20 AM. Naya must have turned off her alarm... she needed to be up getting the kids ready for school forty-five minutes ago. She pulled on sweats and a shirt and headed down the stairs.
Olivia, Ben and Emma were sitting at the bar eating eggs and toast dressed and ready. "Well good morning sunshine's!" She kissed each of her baby's head before walking over and kissing her wife. "You let me sleep."
"We were up late" Naya shrugged.
"Thanks" She smiled.
"I was going to get you up before they left to say goodbye, but I wanted you to get your rest."
"Says, my pregnant wife."
"I wanted to be up with them anyhow" She shrugged, and You never get to sleep in."
"Momma made us eggs!" Ben said.
"I see that," Heather said.
"And their backpacks are all ready, everything is packed and signed, and your lunches are in there as well." Naya smiled.
"Mom of the morning" Heather beamed.
"Gramma is going to be here in twenty minutes to take you to school this morning, so when your done eating you may watch tv after your teeth get brushed until She gets here."
"Your mom?" Heather asked confused.
"Yeah she had to come this way for an appointment this morning, but has to go back right after, she called and asked if she could take them to school so she can at least see them." Naya said.
"Okay, that's awesome," Heather said.
"Yeah I need to get Harp up and ready, so she can go with her."
"I will do it. How long is your mom keeping her?" Heather asked.
"Just an hour or so, her appointment is at ten, so she is going to hang out with her until then, I actually think your mom is going to breakfast with her."
"Oh well isn't that nice."
"Yeah, I thought so. I guess she called and invited her out."
"good for them," Heather said walking up the stairs to get her youngest up.
"Harper" She whispered as she got to the toddler bed.
Harper was all curled up with her blanket. Heather kissed her and brushed her blonde hair out of her face. The little girl opened her eyes and smiled.
"Hi Mommy," She said in a cracked voice.
"Hi my Harp, guess what?"
"What?" She asked.
"Grandma is going to come get you for a few hours this morning."
"Gammy?"
"Yep, you wanna go see her?"
"Yes!" Harper said with a big smile.
"Okay let's get you already, okay?"
"Okay," Harper nodded.
"Hello," Naya said opening the door for her Mother and Janet standing on the other side.
"Hi, to both of you," Naya said.
"Grammie," Benji said running over to his Grandma.
"Hi, Nieto!" Marie said.
"How are you?" He asked.
"Great, how are you?"
"Hi Nana, you're here too?" ben asked excitedly.
"Yes, Benjamin I am going to spend some time with your grandma after we take you to school today?"
"That's fun, why do I have to go to school?" He asked Naya.
"Because school is important," Heather said answering coming down the stairs.
"But… Grammie is here" Ben protested.
"And you are very lucky she is going to take you to school!" Heather said to her son. Then hugged her mother in law then her mom, handing Marie Harper.
"Hi there Nieta how is my princess?" Marie asked Harper.
"Good, how my gammy," Harper asked her.
Marie smiled and kissed her, "Grammie is good. Did you say hi to your Nana?"
"Nana!"
"Harper!" Janet said.
"Girls, Your grandmas are here, come on please, now!" Naya said to Emma and Olivia, who were currently engrossed in the tv.
Once they said their goodbyes and got everyone out the door, Heather sat down with a cup of coffee at the bar. "Thanks for letting me sleep in babe."
"Your welcome, I have to admit now that the kids are out of the house, I have something up my sleeve."
"What?!" Heather asked.
"Yeah, there is a reason all the kids are gone, and that we aren't going to breakfast with our moms."
"I did think that was a bit odd." Heather said, "But I was just glad they were spending the morning together, with Harp."
"We were invited of course but since we were going to be kid-less, I decided that we could take advantage of the morning, and get out just the two of us. Something we haven't done in a while if it wasn't for the doctor or some meeting." Naya said.
"True, so where are we going?" Heather asked.
"Just get dressed and get in the car, we will talk about it on the way."
"Okay," Heather said rolling her eyes but excited by her wife's excitement for the surprise.
About thirty minutes later or so, Naya pulled into a parking spot.
"Um, Shut up!"
"Yeah?" Naya asked with a smile. "Are you down?"
"I am so down," Heather said, "But can you?"
"Yeah I talked to Margo the other day, and she said it was more than fine as long as it was someone we trusted and who was good. She said there aren't many risks and the ones there are, are so slim, as long as we aren't someplace dirty, then it's fine" Naya laughed.
"Okay, then let's do it!"
"Yay, I am so excited!" Naya exclaimed.
A few hours later the girls arrived home, to find their Mom's sitting on the couch with Harper who was sound asleep.
"Hi, I thought you were going straight back home Ma?" Nay asked.
"I wanted to see you girls first, talk to you a bit. How did the morning go."
"Good," Heather said, "Not wanting to tell them what they did because it would give too much away."
"Great, I am glad you guys could get in some quiet time together," Marie said.
"When did she pass out?" Heather looked at her mom.
"About twenty minutes ago, I am going to carry her to her room," Jan said.
"I can," Heather said.
"Hush, you sit. I will be right back down then we can all talk a bit." Jan said picking up Harper whose little body was limp she was so out.
"Thanks Mom," Heather said.
"Of course" Jan smiled.
Within a few moments, Janet was back downstairs, and they had moved to the table to have tea and coffee.
"Okay, what is going on?" Nay asked.
"What do you mean, we just wanted to talk," Marie said.
"Yeah that's why I think something is going on, I mean… talk, about what?"
"Something is going on… " Janet said, "With you too... and we are a little concerned."
"yeah since your ultrasound appointment you have both been… off." Marie nodded.
Heather looked at Naya, who nodded the okay for Heather to tell them what was up.
"Okay, something is kinda going on, but we don't know anything yet… which is why we haven't said anything."
"Know anything about?" Marie asked.
"The babies… One of them may, I mean it's a slight chance, that one of them has down syndrome."
"Oh," Marie said taking a moment before she spoke. "And when will you know?"
"Margo just ran the test two days ago, she is trying to rush it as much as possible but the standard wait time is five days."
"Okay," Marie said.
"And how are you two handling this?" Janet asked.
"Heather is and has been handling it wonderfully since we were very first told," Naya said taking a sip of her tea. "It was a bit for me to process, but now that we have really talked, I will be okay either way. It would just be nice to know."
"I understand," Marie said.
"How did Margo detect it?" Janet asked.
"She did the 3D ultrasound when we were finding out the gender, there was an abnormality in the neck/spinal area. But she said sometimes the Ultrasounds just get a false read so she ran the blood work." Heather said.
"Okay," Janet said, most time that is the case… the read is inaccurate unless there are other characteristics of the pregnancy."
"Which we don't think that there are, but we are waiting to see results until we start to dig deeper into signs and stuff," Naya said.
"So, you know the gender?" Marie asked.
"Of course that is what she is focused on." Naya giggled to Heather.
"Weather my grandbaby has Down syndrome or not to me is a non-issue. God would not bless you with a child if it wasn't how it was supposed to be. I will love this grandbaby, whether or not it's the case. So yes, what I got out of that was you found out the gender, and haven't told me yet. Do you know?" She looked at Jan.
"No," Janet said to Marie, and then looked to both girls, "And just so it's out there, I feel the same way she does."
"Thank you," Heather said.
"So will you tell us please?" Marie asked.
"We are going to do a gender reveal party on Sunday. You can find out then, like everyone else." Naya smiled.
"Heather?" Marie asked.
"I am with her, Sorry," Heather said.
"Okay, but thank you for telling us about the test," Marie said.
"Yes, thanks," Janet said. "And we are here for you."
"I know, and we appreciate that," Naya said. "Very much."
Heather was back at the dance studio, this time a little early, she needed to get some bookwork done, so she left the kids at home with Nay, and headed over before the studio opened.
She was sitting at the desk when she got a text message.
Lea: Hey, what are you doing? I gotta get outta the house for a little bit.
Heather: I am at the studio getting some payroll stuff done and such. Come here?
Lea: Yes, sounds good.
Heather: Are you bringing my baby?
Lea: Yes I will bring him :)
Heather: yay see you two in a few.
Lea: Love you.
About ten minutes later, Lea knocked on the door, Heather opened it and locked it behind her. Taking Caleb's car seat out of her hands. "Here let me help you."
"Thank you," Lea said, "How are you?"
"Good, come sit." She motioned to the desk, she sat Caleb's car seat down and looked to Le, "Can I get him out."
"I would be a horrible tease if I told you no." Lea laughed.
"And I wouldn't care, I would anyway" Heather laughed. She pulled out her nephew who was now a month and some change old. "Oh, my boy!" She kissed him.
"Speaking of boy… are we having boys or girls?"
"You will know Sunday when we have our gender reveal."
"You are evil, give me my baby!" Lea said.
"Not happening," Heather said smelling the top of Caleb's head. "That, I can't wait for that."
Lea smiled. I can't wait to be an auntie again, and for these three to be so close in age, like Sophie and Harp."
"I know, we can't wait" Heather cuddled her nephew.
"so, while I can't tell you their gender, there is something I can tell you."
"Okay…" Lea said.
"Well, we don't know anything yet, and we are waiting for test results, but… one of the babies may have Down Syndrome." Heather said.
"Oh, Heather, how are you guys holding up?"
"Were doing ok now. It was tough for a while because Naya refused to talk about it, she kinda shut down. I have always been a little more okay with the idea I guess."
"Well yeah, if you he or she is supposed to have this, then they will," Lea said. "But I get where Naya was coming from though. I would have a harder time accepting it, I think. I mean I would be more than okay if one of my babies were born that way, and I would love them the same regardless, but I think I would… process it differently. Where I think Di would be more like you, just like. Okay then. Right away."
"Yeah, and I get it. Everyone processes things differently, so I mean I totally understand where she went with it, it was just hard because she wouldn't talk to me."
"I understand, that would be hard for me too."
"so when will you know for sure?"
"In the next two or three days," Heather told her.
"And how is Nay doing now?"
"Much better, last night, after well… the best sex we have had in a very long time." Heather smirked. "We really talked. And she has processed it and really feels good either way. I mean in a perfect world we aren't like praying that it is down syndrome or anything, but it honestly wouldn't be a negative thing if it is. We are just more anxious to know definitively one way or another, but not necessarily to be told it isn't, ya know?"
"That makes a ton of sense." Lea nodded, "And high five on the great sex, di and I haven't at all since this one. Which I mean is understandable but so hard… cause as much as I miss the sex itself, I miss the connection ya know."
"I totally do, last night, was just… all about that. Can you even yet? Are you cleared?"
"Yeah three days ago…" Lea said. "I think she is afraid to touch me after I got so sick with Caleb."
"Oh I know that feeling, after my accident, and the emergency with Livy, both time Naya was scared. You just have to set to mood, and let her know that the doctor said it was okay, and you need her."
"It's hard with a newborn and a 3 in a half-year-old to set much of any kind of mood at our house right now." Lea laughed.
"Then get a hotel, or make the house sexy and bring the babies to us."
"You would be… okay with that?" Lea asked.
"What taking our sweet niece and amazing new nephew for the night? Um, DUH!" Heather scoffed.
"Cause seriously I will take you up on that!" Lea said.
"Plan something, let me know when. The only thing we have set for the next week or so is the gender reveal party, Sunday. But they can come whenever."
"How about Friday night?" Lea asked.
"Sounds good to me."
"Yeah?"
"Yes" Heather nodded.
"Perfect you're the best, thank you!"
"Of course!" Heather smiled.
After teaching, Heather was in the car on the way home from the studio with Emma and Gracie, who was spending the night.
"Mom?"
"Yes, Bug?"
"Do we have to go to school tomorrow, since Grace is spending the night?" She asked in her sweetest voice.
"Yes, you do," Heather said in her mom voice.
"But—" Emma tried to protest.
"Emma Grace, No buts; Gracie Doesn't have to spend the night if you are going to try and negotiate terms, I can take her home later this evening. Momma and I thought it would be okay for her to stay over on a school night this one time, but if you are going to have a problem getting up for school in the morning then…"
"I won't! I promise, I am sorry" Emma said.
"Thank you, Emma," Heather said looking back at her in her rearview mirror.
She noticed Gracie Yawn. "You tired Grace?"
The little girl nodded.
"I bet, long day at school and dance huh?"
"Yeah, And I didn't have an hour in between classes today because I had my private" Grace said.
"You did great today, your solo is looking really good so far."
"Thank you" She could hear the smile in the little girl's voice.
Heather loved being Emma's dance teacher, and that she taught some of her best friends, it really made them feel comfortable coming and going from their house, and while Heather was more than okay with her kids staying at friends' houses she really loved that they were mainly at their house with her.
"Hey," Lea said getting in bed next to a nearly passed out already Dianna.
"Hey" Di took her hand, not opening her eyes. "He down?"
"yeah, and I just checked on Sophia, she is down for the count too."
"She was hard to get to sleep tonight," Dianna said. "It took two stories, three songs, a trip to the potty, a glass of water and me laying with her."
"wow," Lea smiled. "She more than likely just wanted the extra time with you; she is still adjusting to not being an only child."
"She asked me if we could put him back in your tummy today." Dianna smiled, cracking one eye opened to see Lea's face.
She laughed, "That doesn't surprise me. She told me she was going to live at her He-he and Nay-nay's the other day."
Di giggled, "She'll be in for a rude awakening when TWO babies show up there."
"I know right" Lea giggled. "Speaking of heather and their two babies, I had an interesting conversation with her today."
"She tell you?" Dianna asked, "about one of the b-abies" Dianna almost slipped and said boys, but caught herself in time. As much as she wanted to tell Lea, she knew that Heather would kill her, and then Naya, or maybe Martha, would kill Heather.
"Yeah, she seems to be doing well with it," Lea said.
"Yeah when she was here after their appointment we talked, and she had a very positive outlook on it then too. It was Naya she as concerned about. Did she say anything about how she was doing now?"
Lea nodded, "Apparently they really talked, and Nay has had time to digest it, and process It, and she is okay either way, of course."
"I knew she would come around, she just needed to break it all down like she does everything."
"Yeah," Lea said.
"Like you" Dianna smiled.
"I so would have to, your right." Lea nodded.
"I know" Di squeezed her hand, "And that's okay, I would never hold that against you."
"I know, and I love you for that" Lea rolled over on her side and kissed Di.
"Baby…" said as Lea crawled on top of her and deepened their kiss.
"Yes?" Lea asked.
"I don't want to…"
Lea opened her eyes and stared at her wife.
"Hurt you" Dianna finished.
"You won't hurt me, baby, I promise. I have been cleared by Margo, and I am off my antibiotic and feel great." Dianna looked away a moment, and when she looked back at her there were tears in her eyes. "Hey Di, why are you crying?"
"Lea, the day you got sick again and had to deliver Caleb, we had made love that morning, and you were better then as well, and you took a turn for the worse and Caleb was in danger, and it was…"
"Stop," Lea said putting her hand on Dianna's lips, "That had nothing to do with that, and it wasn't your fault. It was because I could only be on a mild antibiotic so it didn't hurt Caleb, and it didn't clear the infection. You know that what you—we did had nothing to do with it. You have to know that. You are NOT going to hurt me, I promise."
Dianna kissed Lea, "I love you."
"I love you too. Friday we are going to take the kids to Heather and Nay's and you and I are going to go to a nice dinner, then back to a nice hotel, and you are going to make love to me."
"But, Caleb is so little—and-"
"No buts, I already made the arrangements with Heather, and they are thrilled to have the kids, and we know damn well Caleb will be more than fine. You are not going to hurt me, plus I need this, you need this. It's important Dianna, I need to feel you, feel us again. I need this…"
"Okay then," Dianna said kissing her, "Anything for you, plus it sounds amazing." She smiled.
"Good, thank you," She said laying her head on Dianna's chest.
"Your welcome, and while I think we need to get some sleep because little man is going to be up in three hours to eat, I also think you should kiss me some more" Di said arching her eyebrow.
"Oh, I can do that" Lea said returning her lips to her wife's.
"Naya!" Heather called from the bottom of the stairs.
"Yes baby" she heard her holler back.
"I am taking the kids to school, then dropping Harper off at Eden's from dance, they have a playdate this morning."
"Okay, hold on," Naya said running down the stairs, "want to kiss the kids." She walked past heather reaching her hand out for hers, headed to the living room where all five were standing waiting for Heather.
"I love you," She said kissing Emma, Ben, Olivia, Harper and even Grace's head.
"I love you," Emma said.
"Me more!" Olivia said.
"No, ME!" Harper said.
I love you Mom" Ben said hugging her.
"Bye Nay, I love ya," Gracie said.
"Okay, now to the car!" Heather pointed, then turned and kissed her wife. "I love you I will be home in like 30 mins or so."
"Love you too," Naya said.
Heather got the kids dropped off and called Nay, "You want a Starbucks, decaf?"
"Yes, please!" She heard the excitement in her wife's voice.
"Okay and I want to go for a walk on the beach when I get home, wanna go with since were kid-free?"
"Yes," Naya said, "Then we are going to go shopping for the reveal party yeah?"
"Yeah," Heather said. "I am at Starbucks I will be home in about 15 or so."
"Okay, love you."
"Love you too."
On the way home from Starbucks Heather called Kira to let her know how Grace did.
"Hey" Kirra answered.
"Hi, how are you?" Heather asked.
"Good, how was Gracie?"
"Wonderful as always, you know how they are when we have each other's kids." Heather laughed.
"Yeah perfect, always," Kirra said. "Funny how they behave so well for other people."
"Always" Heather agreed, "They went to bed pretty much on time, Grace was exhausted from dance, and I think she only kept her eyes open till 9:15 because Emma wanted to talk."
"I bet, she is always asleep by like 8:45 on her long dance days, she hardly even eats, just has a bite gets in PJs and crashes out."
"I wish Em would do that, but she likes to talk, and makes me stretch her at night before bed."
"That girl is so dedicated," Kirra said.
"I kinda love it. It's a nice mom/daughter moment for just us." Heather smiled.
"I get it, totally. How did Gracie's private go?"
"Great, her solo is looking so good," Heather said. "How did Grayson's appointment go?"
"We have to schedule surgery," Kirra said.
"Okay, well let me know if and when I can help around those days. We can always get Grace to dance and home. And I can cover or get whatever classes you need to be covered.'
"Thank you, Heath, you are seriously the best boss."
"I hate that word" Heather laughed, "but you're my friend and I am always here for you.'
"Thanks"
"Of course anytime, hey can you get Emma and Olivia from school today?"
"Yeah, no problem, want me to just bring them to the studio?"
"Yes, please," Heather said, "That would be great."
"No worries, what is Benjamin doing, is he covered?"
"Yeah we are getting him out at 1:30 he has a follow-up appointment from when he was sick a few months back. Nothing serious they just want to check on him, but Nay and I thought we would take him together. My mom is going to get harp from her playdate so we can spend some one on one time with Chunk."
"Oh yeah, I got the girls no worries."
"Thanks, and I will see you at the studio at 4"
"Sounds good, see you then," Kirra said, "Thank you for everything again."
"Thank you," Heather said pulling into her gate, hanging up the phone.
"Nay," She said getting into her house.
"Out here" Nay called from the back.
She went out the back door and handed Naya her coffee.
"Thanks," Naya said.
"Of course," Heather said leaning down kissing her.
"So," Heather sat down next to her, "how are you feeling today?"
"Better, I had a touch of anxiety this morning, which is why I wondered out here. So I could smell the ocean and just be."
"Boys okay?"
"Yeah" Nay nodded "Seem to be pretty calm at the moment."
"And you, what got into you?"
"The internet" Naya admitted.
"Nay, I thought we weren't going to google…"
"We weren't but… I did, and I shouldn't have." Nay nodded, "I know. I just worry."
"And I know, but the boys, both of them; are going to be just fine, regardless."
"I know you are right, I just… it's not him I worry about…"
"What do you mean?" Heather asked.
"It's just… society… people… I wouldn't want him to be teased or looked at differently."
"I think regardless of whom our children are that is a possibility. With all of them, I mean, what if anyone of them is gay? What if Benjamin likes to wear pink, or all the sudden wants to take ballet? None of that is a bad thing, to us. But there are people out there who may look at them differently or have an opinion."
"I just… I don't want to them to be teased or made fun of... I want to protect them, always."
"I understand that Nay I do, but all we can do is raise our children with the understanding that they should be proud of who they are. Teach them to be comfortable in their own skin, whatever that may be. To love other people, and to be kind and considerate good people. To make sure they know that not everyone in the world is nice, that people may say things because they have two moms, or think they are weird because they don't have a dad. But as long as our children know to be kind and loving to everyone they encounter in life, to be open-minded, and open-hearted, then we did well. As long as we raise kind and good individuals; that is our job as parents."
"You are a fucking amazing person Heather," Naya said looking at her in awe. "You never cease to amaze me; you are the fucking parent of the century, and one of the best people I know. You have the biggest heart, and I am so lucky that you are my partner in this life, and the person I get to raise my babies with. They are going to be amazing tiny humans because of you."
"Not just me" Heather shook her head. "You are a great mom, Nay, Please don't ever forget that."
"I love you Heath"
"I love you too Nay, so much."
