Summary: "Whatd'you mean, the TARDIS's song?"

Disclaimer: I own nothing. Not Chameleon Circuit, not Doctor Who, nothing. Hopefully I've been a good enough girl this year...maybe Nine will bring me one of those instead of "redbicyclewhenyouweretwelve."

A/N: Listen to Chameleon Circuit's "Type 40" when you read this, as it's a sort-of songfic, but not in the sense that I paste the lyrics and write a story between them. It's more like... well, like 'let's pretend all Chameleon Circuit songs actually exist in some fashion in the Whoniverse.' Great fun, I promise.

3:46 AM.

The digits glowed in the darkness of her room, quietly reminding her that she should be sleeping. But how could she, with all the noise? The engines, she was used to. She even found it hard to sleep without them now. It was the tune playing in her mind that was driving her crazy, had been ever since the game station.

Shuffling to her feet and rubbing her tired eyes, Rose Tyler made her way to the console room, where the Doctor was tinkering away.

"Doctor, can you please shut that music off?"

"What music?" His tone was vacant, like he was only half-paying attention to her.

"I dunno, do you have some sort of telepathic tune on repeat? Because I swear, whenever we're in the TARDIS, it's always playing."

The Doctor came out from under the console, then, adjusting the setting on his sonic and waving it in her general direction. Glancing at it for a second, he asked, "How's it go, then?"

She hummed the first part of the tune, and to her annoyance, her Doctor just grinned himself silly.

"I'm surprised you can actually hear it. Most other companions never do... Rose, if you want that to stop, you have to ask the TARDIS. It's her song, she's the one singing it, not me."

"Whatd'you mean, the TARDIS's song?"

"Just that. It's even got words." Rose could only laugh as he began to sing, "Powered by the Eye of Harmony, I can travel anywhere in space and time. I'm linked to the Doctor symbiotically, got his imprints on my bionebulizer..."
